illegal residents can't achieve much, they are really suffering, I came across a woman with her children and after telling me her stories,I felt so bad for her, she got nothing to eat, drinking tap water and relying on free food( mainly can foods).I still don't understand why people are coming in illegally.i asked another if it's better to be in the states illegally and he was like" Yes o, Nigeria is hell fire right now"..These people are suffering for real.May God help them get their desired papers.

You're so right, This is how America system works, if it's not a time off request, the manager can't be sacked, the masses helped the woman if not,the company wouldn't have sacked the manager. The manager can also sue them and she'll win.

Was it a time off request. " this is not how we do things" means there is a process in place the mom might not be following. She is sacked because the "masses" i.e customers bought the mom's pity. I see nothing wrong in the manager responses.

My hubby was on life support for 7 days,took some days off but he passed away on the 7th day, I couldn't go back to work and I was new on that job, despite the body still in the mortuary,I was asked to return to work same month cos I didn't have enough time but being a Nigerian and still mourning his death, I wasn't emotionally stable and had no choice but to resign because the company( A state job)wasn't finding it funny with me. The manager was fired not because she didn't do her job but because the company is just trying to cover itself from public embarrassment. American companies will tell you family first i.e if you have accrued enough time, if not, it's either you're off the book or they tell you to quit.
