PHijo:Weldone sir! Those Igbo have been using you lot to play politics in Nigeria, and it has to stop. Many Nigerians outside the south south and SE think everyone in these regions are Igbo. You have to be more vocal, so you can educate us. Thank you. |
Typical! No stats! Just making things up. Nonsense! |
Dtruthspeaker: My guess: you have a worm in your brain. Get well soon, bro. |
nencounter10:Okay |
Dtruthspeaker:Okay |
Dtruthspeaker:Okay, let their creator do the talking not you. Thank you. Dtruthspeaker:Zebra gives birth to a zonkey (zebra + donkey) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWQftNnZabg Let Nature Prove it to us by itself, then you can mock us all day long as we have now mocked you.Nature held your food to grow, do you expect it also to help you plant the food, fertilize it, and harvest it for you? I repeat stop cramming another's tale. |
mansakhalifa:I just felt the people that visit the religion forum would be most interested. Another alternative would have been a science only forum, but Nairaland does not have that. |
Bruno3000:Read the OP |
Dtruthspeaker:Which truth? The one you stated that the earth was at the center of our solar system or the that stated that all animals on earth fit into some boat/ship? There is evidence that these species actually existed, but you lot would rather tell us to believe your book on faith. Wake up and stop cramming some other people's tale. |
Nonsoboy4life:It didn't doesn't! SE governors intentionally misled us. https://www.nairaland.com/5880408/se-governors-deliberately-arm-ibos |
bigiyaro:Then you get my point! Just in their present environment the difference shows. What happens when the conditions in the environment changes? In the next one million year, can you guarantee that office work would be same as today's? Or farming work? Those professions would have changed or even cease to exist. This factor alone is enough to change/evolve us. Talk less of changes in nature itself. Going by what we read now about global warming, what do you think would happen to humans in a million year from now? Am pretty sure they would not look like us, because they must evolve to survive that environment. And those who fail to do so, go extinct! |
bigiyaro: plavic:We are changing as humans it is just that a slow process and it only be apparent after so many years? Can you compare a 30 years old man 2000 years ago (just) that did some labour intensive work to the one of today who sits in front of a computer most times? |
Judybash93:Please add to your comment with picture. Thank you. |

https://www.faceofmalawi.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/homo.jpg This space rock we call Earth has been around for over 4.6 billion years. During all those eons, thousands, maybe millions of different species had gone extinct, including some of our cousins and direct ancestors like the “working man” (Homo ergaster) and “handy man” (Homo habilis), to name a couple. You may not know that the first modern humans (Homo sapiens) appeared between 400,000 and 250,000 years ago. At that time we didn’t have much competition, only some Neanderthals here and there, which probably helped us survive and develop our cognitive skills instead of using brute force on everything. Anyway, none of the other humans from the Homo genus survived this arduous journey, leaving the Homo sapiens in charge of the planet. So here are top 7 extinct human species. 1. Homo georgicus This “link species” between Homo habilis and Homo erectus was found Georgia in 1999 and is believed to be at least 1.8 million years old. Their skulls were quite tiny, but who needs brains when you got brawn! These homies settled in Europe around 800,000 years ago. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598563_extincthumanspecies1_webp_webpb1e43a64356f5e6a676cfdf44a5fb17e 2. Homo ergaster (“working man”) Let’s travel to South-East Africa now, 1.9-1.4 million years BC. The “working man” was a lot like H. erectus, but with some distinct differences in the skull structure and the brain size. They used stone axes and probably figured out how to make fire long before the others. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598564_extincthumanspecies2_webp_webp5bc4b83b736318eb578a05a66113c7c4 3. Homo rudolfensis In 2007 a 1.9 million-year-old skull washed ashore near Lake Rudolf in Kenya. Only a single remnant of this species has been found so far, and according to the scientists it was more of a smart ape than a human. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598565_extincthumanspecies3_webp_webpfd3d60ff6bce2abf0e1fb30386f4f4ad 4. Homo antecessor One of our first European ancestors settled across the continent from Spain to Georgia 1.2 million to 700,000 years ago. Their large brains (over 1000 cc) helped them out tremendously during their reign in Europe. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598566_extincthumanspecies4_webp_webp87918469dada1e6644db1e81112230ad 5. Homo habilis (“handy man”) Many researchers believe that Homo habilis, who lived 2.5 to 1.8 million years ago, could have been the first species of the Homo genus to ever appear. Allegedly, they were the first species to use stone tools, but those were mostly used for cutting meat of a dead animal, rather than hunting or self-defense. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598567_extincthumanspecies5_webp_webpfafb3b237ee10b65c6d37c0d5c285fa5 6. The Neanderthal (Homo neanderthalensis) The big boys are here! Their remains were found all over Europe and western Asia. Neanderthals were still roaming the land not so long ago, about 24,000 years, and first appeared 130,000 years ago. And since our direct ancestors were living their lives, and having these wide-nosed brutes as neighbors, there was definitely some DNA mixing going on. They could probably even speak in words and sentences, play flutes made out of bear femurs, and some researchers even say that they buries their dead. Knowing us humans, we probably saw what the big boys were doing and started doing it ourselves, but more efficiently. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598568_extincthumanspecies6_webp_webp9cd58790e8002c22f4022be96b2a21d5 7. Homo sapiens idaltu (“elderly wise man”) Another more recently extinct subspecies of Homo sapiens – H. sapiens idaltu – settled in Africa 160,000 years ago. With brain capacity comparable to a modern human, these homies were most likely our direct ancestors. Following them were the first H. sapiens sapiens – Khoisan (today’s Bushmen), who appeared around 110,000 y.a. in Eastern Africa. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11598569_extincthumanspecies7_webp_webp718af9d5ce58c16d8463773d78bc1b84 |

Tana Aiyejina The Ogwumike sisters: Nneka (Los Angeles Sparks), Chiney (Los Angeles Sparks) and Erica (Minnesota Lynx) on Wednesday joined award winning South African music artist Sho Madjozi in the fifth episode of the “NBA Africa Game Time”, which was aired on NBA Africa YouTube channel. The WNBA players, one of the most famous basketball sisters, spoke about their Nigerian roots, recall Nneka Ogwumike’s MVP season and the Sparks winning the 2016 WNBA Finals, as well as sharing their views on the transformative power of basketball and creating more opportunities for young boys and girls in Africa. Speaking on their Nigerian-American roots, Los Angeles Sparks power forward Chiney said, “By nature of being Nigerian and American, I always say that we have the best of both worlds. We have the Nigerian determination, but then we also have the American opportunity. Our parents let us capitalise on that by just saying ‘Hey, we see values that are good for young girls being in sports,’ despite that (it) might not have been the same path that most African parents chose at the time.” As a Nigerian-American, Chiney understands the passion African fans have for sports. In her free time, she’s traveled around the continent, working on basketball clinics and helping to raise money to build basketball courts. She also shared an insight on creating more youth development initiatives in Africa. “I think that the NBA, of all leagues, and the Basketball Africa League, especially under the leadership of Amadou (Gallo Fall), have done an excellent job in creating that infrastructure… They knew that basketball has so much potential to transform lives. Most of their initiatives aren’t just for men, or for boys, it’s for women too…. We are making strides, so I’m very optimistic,” Chiney, 28, added. Nneka, also a power forward at Los Angeles Sparks, was a member of the victorious Team USA at the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, after beating Spain 77–64 in the final. Two years later, she won the WNBA MVP Award, as well as winning the WNBA Championship with the Sparks. The WNBA double is one that the 29-year-old Chiney still relishes. “To be honest, it’s an indescribable feeling, it’s an indescribable process,” she stated. “You reach a level that you’ve never experienced before and that’s when you realize, wow, I thought I had hit the pinnacle… I truly don’t believe there ever is really a pinnacle. I think that if you ever feel as if you’ve mastered anything, you’re not living life correctly. “I am blessed to be able to have made a living playing basketball, but I think what’s biggest is us being able to make a difference playing basketball.” https://punchng.com/ogwumike-sisters-relish-nigerian-american-roots/

flokii:Then you give them the opportunity to deceive people without a mind of their own. |
Chimaraymond455:Always blaming others for everything. Was it a Yoruba that release the statement by the Igbo and Ijaw youths? Well, generalization would be improper because just above you are brave and intelligent people. |
rummmy:Wisdom is not common! |
Ojukwu should have surrendered? He was out gunned and out manned, and he was still forming never die attitude. The man even had the audacity to come back to the country to contest for an election after such evil. Rubbish! |
By John Owen Nwachukwu A Pro-Biafra group, the Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has told the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, to engage the Nigerian government in a civil war as Biafra did in 1967. The BNYL was responding to a statement by the Ijaw Youth Council, where the apex Niger Delta youths group told Biafra and Oduduwa secessionists to leave the Ijaw nation out of what they call ‘their utopian republics.’ The Biafra group advised the Ijaw youths to war with Nigeria government to prove that they can stand as a country. This was contained in a statement to DAILY POST on Thursday signed by Ebuta Takon Akor, Deputy National Leader of BNYL, and Director of Operations, Biafra Broadcasting Service, BBS. He said that Biafra will be restored with or without the support of the Ijaw Youth Council. “It was the mentality of some Ijaw youths that led to the reasons the government succeeded in deceiving some people in South-south to hate Biafra. “But now, the BNYL is here with overwhelming support and membership from Cross River, Bakassi Peninsula, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and even Bayelsa States.” He said Biafra is not Igbo project, adding that the Igbo are in forefront of the struggle being the majority ethnic group of Biafra https://dailypost.ng/2020/05/21/biafra-ijaw-youths-told-to-engage-nigeria-in-civil-war/ |
Adefatima:You have to break it down for them. What you wrote up there is too complex! I wonder what Nigeria would do when an "hostile" state carries "weapons of mass destruction" into its territory? UN would have a lot on their plate, though. Their political leaders understand these things, but I doubt whether the noise makers do. I wish them all the best, sha. |
Igbochief001:Stop blaming everyone, but yourselves for everything -- it is not cool at all. |
Igbochief001:Did you read the the letter? They were stylishly fighting for your right too. You people should behave jor! Weldone PANDEF! |
ATandT:I PM-ed you -- I love asking questions |
Adefatima:Which Benin? For the one in Nigeria, some of them claim the Yorubas there too are migrants! |
Igboid:funny you! we don't deceive anyone. everyone is just trying to do good for themselves. that was why Azikiwe and ojukwu did whatever they did to us back then. and I personally don't blame them. actually I told you how you can get your biafra, but I know you guys are just playing politics with. |
Adefatima:imagine him saying Awori are bini or maybe be meant from Benin republic |
Maadoo:Awori people are Yoruba people not bini aka edo (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awori_tribe). where do you get this falsehood you spread about? or do you sit somewhere and cook them up. Awori people might lay claim to it because Oyo empire disintegrated. Before the Awori, or Ojebu, or Egun or whatever sub Yoruba tribe started claiming the Lagos, it was the property of Oyo empire aka Yoruba people everyone traded on it. All Yoruba sub groups did everything together like intermarriage, so those you call "Awori" might just be mixed blood of Yoruba sub groups. What is the demography of the total population in 1911 as stated in the picture? and Where did you snap that picture from? |
. I'm out.
