edoboy74:So what is your point? Who is superior or not is a matter of history and I am talking about the present and future. Those kings are free to make any claim like, it is a free world! But, one thing is certain, Yoruba have more in common with Bini people than any other ethnic group in Nigeria, save Igala people. My point was that we don't want you guys in Oduduwa Republic -- our map clearly states that! Bini people are free to make up any country they like with anyone else. |
Later today one mumu mod would remove this thread! ![]() |
kingawothefirst:Technically, yes! They are different from Edo. Bini kingdom conquered a lot of people including some Yoruba (during our civil war), Igbos and other minority tribes, but they didn't assimilate them properly before the British came. So these people still have the original identity but just show some reverence to the oba of bini. The oba of bini and his direct subjects have a connection with Yoruba people, but not those other minorities and the Igbos. |
OdumegwuOjukwu:Do you read the news at all? So when Yoruba leaders and media were castigating this government, what were you and your leaders doing? Don't tell me Lamidi Kunu is a leader! He takes joy in cursing and abusing, than correcting. -Security issues On this you need to pay attention more to the news! CAN lead by Yoruba people have been most vocal about this. Same with media houses in the SW. Sahara reporters that tells you about the killings is owned by who? On this, everyone should make moves to protect themselves, because even the South west was even invaded at some point. - Abuse of powers, A media in the south west is even calling the president, a major general! What else do you want from them? Same as above we can only whine about it. There is nothing anyone can do about that -- we are in a democracy! - Service chiefs distribution, This is the call of the president and I expect everyone should respect that. The coas is Kanuri not Fulani, and president said the man is placed there because his hometown is affected! Same as above again, we can only whine about it. - Allocation of projects, This is your problem! You don't expect Yoruba people to be fighting for you. But the fact is that this president has planted more projects in the SE and its environs than Jonathan, so you shouldn't be complaining about this. If you really feel pained, tell Deziani, your hero, to invest some of her loot in the SE. - Petroleum Industries Bill Same as ealier, we are even screaming restructuring! Let everyone man what they have in the region. If you like bath yourself in your petroleum, that is your problem. All in all, cheap blackmail wouldn't take you far? No one in the ruling party would hand over the presidency slot to anyone in the SE like that. You guys have to earn it. Same with the PDP! Though I feel you deserve the PDP ticket, but many of you are ready to be slaves for ever! |
edoboy74:https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sunnewsonline.com/significance-of-oba-ewuares-visit-to-arole-oduduwa/amp/?espv=1 You stand to gain nothing hating Yoruba people at large, if you have a problem with someone, face him or her. Unnecessary hate would take you nowhere. So calm down! If any Yoruba person make you insecure, please do you own back to the person! And Yoruba are not interested in Edo being part of Oduduwa Republic! Yoruba and Bini people, not Edo are cousins, so there is nothing your hate can do about that!

He is not becoming anything! His job is to reduce the the number of black votes that Biden would have gotten. I just hope the black community in America can see the ploy of the Republicans. There's nothing people wouldn't do for wealth -- Kanye and his wife didn't become billionaires for nothing! |
PortHardcore:Electrical power just like everything else in the country is centralized. Though, this factor contributes little to the problem. Majorly, our lack of more power plants is as a result of intellectual deficiencies. The government does not stop a Nigerian from generating electricity and selling it efficiently! |
Igbochief001:So how is this the fault of Awolowo? Did the man ever rule Nigeria? Did he ever rule the east? So, what is your problem with him? |
Igbochief001:Useless reply! Address the questions I posed to you first! Awo did not force anything down the throat of your leaders, so you can not blame him for lack of productivity! Stop blaming everyone, and make yourselves useful. |
PortHardcore:But for years the same placed power generation in the exclusive list, that is, they are the only ones allowed to provide Nigerians electricity. You get my point about our intelligent as a people? Or maybe, Some people intentionally sat down somewhere to hold everyone down? |
Igbochief001:Sure, Awo also forced your leaders in the east to practice the same socialism, right. What stops you people, the alpha and omega, to manufacture everything for us? And why do you people blame everyone for everything, but yourselves? |
PortHardcore Honestly, it is not our fault -- we are not a intelligent people! We can not establish these companies because most of us don't know how it works or how to go about it. Even those that manage to establish a company rely on foreigners to maintain it for them and This considerably increases the cost of providing the product or service. Our government also would rely on these foreigners to establish anything they want to do for us. My solution, we should patiently pursue practical education from those racists (we have no choice) and apply what we know here. We have very few people who know how somethings work, but they don't care enough for their country's development. Many of them would rather be lowlife employee to those racists than coming back here to take risk. One thing I am pretty certain about is that our government can not help us develop as we all want, because they are either greedy, or not intelligent. |
What Yoruba means or doesn't mean is inconsequential! What is the meaning of English, Hausa, Fulani or Igbo? Low self-esteem is when you allow an alien define the meaning of your name. What if I told you the meaning of your name is "a f00l"? Why would you take my definition of your name over yours? Low self-worth! My definition of Yoruba is a group of people who live in West Africa. That is all! |
Nezero:It has always been! It is only in Nigeria these Fulani people try this nonsense. In other West Africa countries, they are either arrested on sight or killed. Nigeria has been very good to them -- a minority tribe having produced a lot of presidents of the country. |
Razzness:Continue denying facts! |
No fewer than 10 people were reportedly killed while several others sustained injuries during a communal clash between Fulani farmers and Fulani herders in Zadawa village in the Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State. However, the state Police Command confirmed that nine people were killed. The clash was over ownership of land in the surrounding settlement where herders were located and have been grazing for several years although the land belongs to the government. The land was to be converted in to a farm by the local government, a development that did not go down well with the herders. It was gathered that on Monday, the local council officials went to the place with security backing but the herders violently reacted and a clash erupted leading to deaths and injuries. The Caretaker Chairman of the LGA, Mr. Yar Gwaran, however, said security personnel had taken control of the situation. The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Wakili, said: “From report we have, nine people have been killed in the clash while six others were injured and are receiving treatment.” http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/07/01/herdsmen-fulani-farmers-clash-in-bauchi-claims-10-lives |
Razzness:You are wrong! The leader of Sunni Muslims in Nigeria is the Sultan of Sokoto. Saudi Arabia is were it originated from! Shiites originated from Iran, and Shiites don't regard Sultan of Sokoto (a Fulani) as their leader, same with majority of Yoruba Muslims. When did Buratai (a Kanuri) become prominent? Buratai is only doing the bidding of his Fulani masters! He was the aggressor against an unarmed group. The fact is that Zakzaky (a Hausa) threatens the Fulani oligarchy! You can continue deluding yourself, but we know what is going on. You still fail to tell me the tribes of El Rufai and Zakzaky. |
Razzness:What's El Rufai then? And Zakzaky? I still stand by my initial assertion that Sunnis are controlled by Fulanis and Shiites by Hausas. Which Northerners are comfortable with his arrest? Why are the security forces arresting and killing his supporters? Others who should condemn the injustice are cowed to silence. |
Razzness:Imagine! I didn't read this before I replied that idi0t! They are very easy to f00l. Any small thing, Yoruba this, Yoruba that. I don't know why they are so obsessed with Yoruba people. What are you doing about the incarceration of El Zakzaky? It is not right that a man should be jailed because of his belief. |
Commonsense99:You are a f00l for thinking him a Yoruba person! Did he tell you that? Why the stupid assumption? From his argument thus far, common sense should have told you he is more likely not going to be a Yoruba. Idiots! Everyone to you lot is now Yoruba! |
Razzness:You just negated your previous argument! You claimed they were "one", right? "Hausa-fulani" is a political word. It advantageous to both tribes but it pays Fulanis more, because of the early leap they had. They technically impoverished Hausa people with the feudal system they practiced in their empire. When Nigeria breaks up, you would see the difference then, because the purpose of "the unity" would no more be needed! |
Razzness:They have conflicts! The present conflict between the Sunni and Shiite Muslims is one and the other is the banditry happening in the North. Fulanis are majorly Sunni Muslims and Hausa are Shiites are Hausas. El Zakzaky is rotting in jail, because he an Hausa man has so much power that threatens El Rufai (a Fulani). |
Uchek:Always comparing yourselves to the terrible! So, you lot want to put yourselves on the same podium as Fulani herdsmen? At least, the Fulanis are not coordinating their attacks in the public. Should we keep silence until some deranged Igbo persons (meant literarily, there are also deranged Yoruba people!) carry out attacks on Yoruba people based on the preaching of Kanu? Anyway, you guys should not worry yourselves, we are waiting for the result of your actions. Just be rest assured that you don't have the monopoly of spreading hate, and maybe violence (depending on the result your actions and inactions). I wish you the best! |
Are you aware that threads in the politics forum are rampantly deleted for no reason? Another of my thread was just removed! https://www.nairaland.com/5947590/yorubas-not-stop-igbos-seceding Please could you tell me what is wrong with the thread? Seun Mynd44 |
Uchek:Tell that to Nnamdi Kanu and others who are actively attacking us. |
So many f00ls everywhere! Some people sat down somewhere and decided that smoking MJ is a crime, but cigarette is legal. Why is cigarette legal? Anyway, some parts of America has made it legal again, and we are waiting for the follow-follow government we have here to copy them soon. |
SaintBeehot:For your education. The map below shows Yorubaland! Stop brainwashing yourself!

GBOKASINCHA:What is the population of Igbos in Cotonu and which states in Benin republic do you control? Why do you stand to gain in empty boasts? |
By Samuel Ogunsona and Kofi Layipo Yoruba Thousands of Yoruba people have taken to the streets across neigbouring Benin Republic, calling for a sovereign state. Our correspondent in Cotonue reports that thousands of protesters for two days running condemned the central government in Cotonue the capital of Benin Republic calling for self determination. The Yoruba called on the Beninoise President, Patrice Guillaume Athanase to restructure the country to reflect self actualisation of the Yoruba people. Athanase has been President since 6 April 2016. “We have been objects of ridicle in Benin Republic. We are Yoruba with a population of 2 million in Benin Republic. We have no access to political and economic powers. We are indigenous to this land. We are not tenants. We belong to Oduduwa Nation. We are an extention of the Oyo Empire. Our amalgamation with the people here did not come our of our freewill. It was imposed on us” Adjei Adekunle told Irohinoodua in Cotonue on Sunday. The Yoruba population in Benin Republic is immense and dates back to the founding of Ketu a historical region in what is now the Republic of Benin often refered to as Kétou (Ketu) which was one of the oldest cities in the old Oyo Empire tracing its establishment to a settlement founded by a descendant of Oduduwa, also known as Odudua, Oòdua and Eleduwa. The Kings of the town were traditionally styled “Alaketu”, and are related directly to Ile-ife in present-day Nigeria. One of the leaders of the protest told Irohinoodua that the Yoruba in Benin Republic have consistently been sidelined adding that access to political power has been made difficult since the country attained independence. “The French handed over power to a minority. They have used the army and police to oppress us. Enough is enough. We want the United Nations to organise a referendum. We want self determination for our Yoruba people in Benin”, he said “Ketu is one of the sixteen original kingdoms established by the children of Oduduwa in Oyo mythic history, though this ancient pedigree has been somewhat neglected in contemporary Yoruba historical research, which tends to focus on communities within Nigeria. The exact status of Ketu within the Oyo empire however is contested” Ethnic groups in Benin Republic are Fon and related 39.2%, Adja and related 15.2%, Yoruba and related 12.3%, Bariba and related 9.2%, Ottamari and related 6.1%, Yoa-Lokpa and related 4%, Dendi and related 2.5%, Other 1.6%, Unspecified 2.9% (2002 est.) In all there are about 42 ethnic groups in Benin Republic. But Adekunle said the population figures are fraudulent adding that the Yoruba in Benin Republic are in majority. https://rifnote.com/2020/06/18/video-yoruba-in-benin-republic-protest-call-for-independence/ |
