Programming / Re: Please Help! Which Programming Language Do I Start With As A Newbie In Coding? by llaykorn: 11:06pm On Sep 24, 2020 |
Heartlessbanker: Tensa had a great reply. I will add that the web development route to learning programming is still a very good route even if you don't plan to become a web developer. Javascript is a language that is no more limited to web applications, so learning to code in Javascript is valuable as a programming language outside of web development. Besides, going the HTML/CSS then Javascript route is completely interesting for most beginners as you can visually appreciate what you are learning. And Javascript seems to be one of the easiest languages to pick up, when we ignore its many quirks. (Python seems to still beat JS in this regard, though) 1 Like |

Education / Re: Please Nairalanders I Use To Forget What I Read Easily What Can I Do by llaykorn: 9:49am On Feb 10, 2019 |
A very important thing to do when you memorize lists or definitions is attach everything to a clear graphical image in your memory. A long list could be turned into a movie plot and you should revise by playing the movie plot out in your head. For example, I had to memorize a list that contained these: primary shaping processes, machining processes, joining processes, surface finishing processes.... So I started with a workshop and the first thing I see is primary school kids shaping metal in their uniform. That's primary shaping process. Beside them, there's a man on a machine yelling at the kids. Machining Process. Farther down, there's a man yelling at the kids to be fast, he wants to join the metals they shape together, and that's for joining processes and farther down the workshop there's a..... This is the method of association. You don't just try to memorize words. Everything should come with a picture, a movie plot, something you can imagine. In another example, I had to memorize this. "A functional layout is used for batch or moderate production. It specifies the path for group technology and it is used for maintenance operations of the non-reputitive type. The breakdown of a machine does not stop the production process. Now I'm in a jeans production workshop. The machines are arranged in the fucntional layout. On each machine, there's a batch of of jeans on one side and on the other side a smaller batch to stand for moderate. There are complex paths between the machine arrangements and this stands for "specifies the path for group technology". A worker calls out to another worker to help repair his radio and the other one tells him to never bring the radio again. This stands for "maintenance of non-reputitive type" and one of them laughs that when his machine breaks down, the radio owner won't help him and finally he reminds them that "machine breakdown does not stop production process". This seems like a complex idea, but it's actually very easy and interesting to use. I've memorized long boring lists, definitions and the likes this way and reproduced them sequentially. All I have to do is to follow the images in my head, the pictures, the movie plots and produce whatever I attached to them. A memory champion explains how this works in this TED talk. Please watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsC9ZHi79jo Don't ignore this. Try it out. Ask me questions if you're confused about how it works. |

Fernandodrogba: The exams have commenced. Not for all, though. The 100 and 200 level students who will be taking CBT exams will start theirs today and will end by August 17. Those who started earlier will end theirs earlier. Maybe a week earlier. Most of the final year students are close to the end, however. |

The only part that interests me in this story is where you said you're planning to invite her over and gang rape her. I do not understand why you think that is equal reconmpense for what you claim she did to you. She did not force you to spend your money. You did because you were looking for something. You didn't tell her while you were spending your money that you wanted sex in return. There weren't any agreements. Were they? I really that hope you and your friends get to spend the rest of your lives in Kirikiri Maximum Prisons. You spent all you spent out of your own naivety or maybe stupidity. That's what your friends should be telling you if you had any good friends. 13 Likes 3 Shares |
