IBNZUBAIR

There is this future we all expected
A dream that has kept us all excited
A past we believed, that never was
For as it had always been, we had no cause
Now we see a future that isn’t to be
Eyes open or closed that we won’t see
We rather told our hearts it will come
That the future was sure, and it was for some
Those opportune to rule like kings
They are those who fly over with wings
Who deceives us that we are on the path
But live on our wealth and grow so fat
O youths of today when will you arise
And tell yourselves “enough of the cries”
It’s time to fight for that which is right
Let on our torches, and not wait for the light
The light the deceivers have promised for long

DONJOWEBS

No! We won't tarry and wary
In this quest for our conquest
So let us embrace this race
To fight this gloom and doom of evening men
A doom that has built a room over our boom
Let us disunite our weaknesses
And unite in our strength of collective belief
Belief bonded and forged
In a furnace of brotherhood and nationhood
Let’s stand together and defeat the wrong
And to this I can proudly say
The future is here and has come to stay

ANALYSIS

This poem is generally about Nigeria... Past present and the likely future. We all believe in a great past that never existed, we kept whining in the present about our condition instead of standing up for ourselves and we hope the future brings better without working towards that...

The aim is the youth, they are the group most affected by this chaotic situation so it is left to them to decide what they want.

MzNelly:
Try to write a story. Just try to write a story once.

No, really, sit down in your room, pick up your pen and think of a plot. Think of what she/he looks like. Think of what should come next. Think of the suspense build up to keep your readers wanting more. Think of the denouement, tragedy, climax, anti climax, everything.

Try it.
And maybe, just maybe when you see how difficult it is, you would realize how important compliments/constructive criticisms are.
Awwww, this just pulled at my heart MzNelly. sad
EducationRe: Tips On Effective Time Management For Students. by llaykorn: 5:22pm On Nov 13, 2015
4. Avoid Procrastination:

Procrastination is one of the things that will badly affect a student's productivity. It can result in wasting essential time and energy. It should be avoided at all costs. It could be a major problem in both your career and your personal life also.

5. Start Early:

Most of the successful men and women have one thing in
common: they start their day early as it gives them time to sit, think, and plan their day. When you get up early, you are more calm, creative, and clear-headed. As the day progresses, your energy levels starts going down which affects your productivity and you don’t perform as well.

As a student, this applies not to your day alone: it does to everything you will have to decide when to start in your student life. Make sure to start early. Never work against a deadline.

6. Learn To Say NO:

Refuse to accept additional tasks if you think that you’re already overloaded with work. Take a look at your ‘To Do’ list before agreeing to take on extra work. Just remember to do it politely. Don't think that people will be disappointed in you if you decide not to help because most people never really think you will help; they are just trying their luck.

7. Stay Off Nairaland
