Hello, I'm new to this forum. I applied for my study permit June 2020 for the fall 2020 and since then, I haven't heard anything from IRCC. I've done my biometrics and upfront medical which I've passed but I still haven't gotten a response. I have already completed one year of study at home and I have informed them and sent many webforms concerning my application but I've only gotten the generic reply. Will writing to an mp help and if so do I have to use the email I used to apply for my study permit?

Oh dear, so sorry about this. Sincerely, it's not fair on IRCC part to have made you wait this long only to be refused at the end.
Please order your gcms notes to see the issues/concerns raised in full detail. Then re-apply by tackling them accordingly.

hmmmm.. For a minute was gonna say you are even lucky.. Just one reason which seemed more like you didnt tidy your Proof of funds properly... In my opinion, You have a chance if you can address this very quickly..
There nothing God cannot do.. Someone today shared a testimony just this morning that he re-applied July 6th 2021, after his first refusal and miraculously He got his PPR today... So believe God can still do wonders even before the Fall semester commences Sept..
All I will advice is reapply and do a very strong LOE (Letter of Explanation) centered more on your financial situation to be able to sustain your self while in Canada.
Who is your the Sponsor? Family or Self?,
How long was the funds available in the Account you used?
IS the funds still in the account? Did you send your MyBankStatement slip?
Did you pay any school fees?
What is your story? Employed, Self-employed? etc?

I also got feedback from MP. It was swift and very useful.

I just hope that over time this won't lead to thousands of people sending requests to MP. I foresee a situation like that, and this may not be seen in a positive light.

Please who has the email of the MP for the University of Alberta's region, the ones I mailed did not respond or said they couldn't help because I wasn't inCanada

As mentioned by the house, another option to consider apart from sending Webforms & Mails is sending a mail to the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Province in Canada your DLI (school) is located, so do a google search on that

After you have gotten the e-mail address of that MP, the contents in the link below might be helpful

I won't want to believe your application hasn't been touched. Please have you at any point ordered for your gcms note?, this would have given you an insight and save you the stress.

Since webform is not helpful anymore , I'll suggest you get in touch with the Member of Parliament where your institution is located.
