Education / Re: BTW Means By The Way! And Not Between!!! by lobell: 3:09pm On Nov 01, 2018
Kennydoc:

The crux of the OP's discussion is what I highlighted in bold. He never said 'btw' cannot imply 'between'. He's only addressing the circumstances of use.

For example,
"Btw, hope you remember tomorrow is my bday" means "by the way, hope you remember..." and not "between, hope you remember..."

But, in a statement like "btw Abuja and Lagos cities, I prefer Abuja" , "btw" means "between" not "by the way".

I think the key thing is to speak the statement to yourself and ask if it makes sense before making it public.

The oafs actually go as far as writing it in full! For example, "In between, tomorrow is my birthday etc etc". What the hell does this even mean?

Learn not to respond to goats bleating. BTW, just to add to your effort, we used 'btw' for 'between' for jotting @ lectures long before we knew about www. BTW (capitalized) is 4 'By The Way' while 'btw' is 4 'between'.

I can tell that you are not part of the indomie generation.

No ma. I wrote with BC. And yes, headsets were used. Does it really matter what organisation you write with?

Reminds me of an incident that happened a couple of years back. A family had a house, in the compound was a huge GP water tank that services the family water needs including for drinking. Suddenly water from the tank started changing taste and had a funny odor. it became unbearable until they decided to drain the water and wash the thank. On opening the tank, the first thing that greeted them was the corpse of a decomposing mad man inside the water tank, I forgot to mention that the house was close to a psychiatrist hospital, so apparently one of the inmates escaped from the facility and decided to chill inside the tank for a cold bath. He chilled for eternity...and the family that was drinking the water hmmmm..

Stop telling lies for likes. Were you the one that covered the tank after the madman entered?

Phones / Re: Nipost Enugu Opened My Parcel And Extorted 7800 From Me by lobell: 7:11am On Oct 13, 2018
eightsin:
The management of NIPOST Enugu, Enugu State has forcefully extorted the sum of 7800 naira from me, claiming it to be custom duty. On getting home, I tried opening my parcel only to find out it has been opened already and sealed back with the NIPOST tap. I am shocked and baffled that a parcel I bought from China can be opened by NIPOST without due authorisation. My parcel number is RB619437015SG. I have all evidence of paying and a video showing my tempered parcel. I asked them to give me the paper to go pay custom through remita, she refused. After paying her cash, she didn't want to give me an evidence of paying so I had to start raising my voice that she either give me a copy of the so-called custom paper (which happens to be NIPOST paper, see pic) or refund my money, she then gave me to go make a photocopy.

My purpose of writing this is that I want to seek redress. I want to know why/who opened my parcel and who is responsible for this corruption perpetuated by Enugu NIPOST but do not know how to go about it. Any input by those that know how will be highly appreciated.

MOD please help move this to front page. Regards

Take it to twitter and tag Nipost and Dr Joe Abah. Thank me later.

Lol...

You are very right...

Everybody was calling me like, Daddy has been reading your book o, you don open your nyansh and the way he's doing his face we don't understand o, lol.

I say no wahala, I'm glad he is reading to know stuffs I wouldn't have been able to tell him one on one.

That's the life of a first male child. You become a man just like that...no time to even be a child small.

Today the 10th day of October 2018, I had just gotten information that my dad got hold of a copy of my book and was engrossed in it all day. I hadn't shared my story with anyone of my family members until I did this book and I'm certain they'd be pleasantly surprised and wondering what sort of a person I am. Lol

I am who I am. I don't have the energy for much talk especially when it comes to stories like this where you can't find the right words to convey your experiences or make the listener understand in-depth what you had been through.

I had just spoken with him on the phone and no talks about my story, it was just the usual greetings. I'm glad they are finally coming to terms with what I have had to deal and live with as the sacrificial lamb.

No be everything wey hunter see for bush e dey talk reach house...

It is well...

There's a lot going on in his mind right now.

"Is it true? Can it be true? Was that why this/that happened this way? Ahh, this explains this! I don't believe it! Maybe not all is true...He is a man. My respect for him just increased exponentially. He's really strong o. If I was in his shoes, could I have survived all these?"

And maybe some tears...no, definitely some tears.

God dey.

Please I have questions bothering me. When you have more than five children, do you need to include all as your dependant. Then if you have High blood pressure, will affect your chances.

If you have 100 children, you must include them. If you have HBP, you should be managing it and it should not show up during medicals. See your personal doctor and get it under control before time for medicals. Medicals is also valid for a year so if you are certain of ITA, you could monitor yourself and go for the medicals when your BP is under control.

Seniors can sound off on this if I'm wrong.

When I read the policewoman's post I just shook my head. Women are their own worst enemies, how? Her silly write up was meant only for "baby mamas" and women what about the men?! What advice did our fountain of wisdom give to the men that impregnate those women?

Anyway that's the way Nigerian police officers think. They feel women are just objects if you doubt go report a domestic abuse in a police station and watch the way both you and the victim will be shamed.

The onus is always on the woman to make the choice to allow the man have sex because na she go suffer am in the end. Pregnancy wahala and risk of death during childbirth, drop out of school, hustle to feed and clothe yourself and the baby, face the social stigma of being a bastards mother (aka babymama), end your dreams and ambitions even if it is for the mean time, spend sleepless nights when baby is ill, etc etc. The guy can go on to impregnate another girl and his life continues without even as much as a 2-second pause.

Ergo, the women should be spoken to more to give themselves brain.

This behaviour is actually a fallout of the mothers bleaching themselves. Because, how can you be as fair as the noon day sun and your child is black like dudu osun?

The lies and pretense has to continue. Once a lie is told, more lies need to be told to cover it. "Stop bleaching, stop bleaching", they will not listen. They say it's my natural colour that is coming out. Onyi oshi, natural colour kee you there! Now you have to purify the poor baby just to lend credence to your filthy lies.

dumbo!

If he bothered to read up the news on earthquake activities just yesterday, he will have realized that the number and magnitude of the earthquakes recorded in Japan, Fiji Islands, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Iran, the ring of fire, etc was enough to send tremors across the whole world. Not repeating some idiotic lines about rock blasting which had been ruled out by FEMA after investigations.
