To be honest, it can be cold here. Really cold.

But don't let it discourage you from pursuing your Permanent Resident dream. After the winter ends, you get to enjoy a country where there's respect, community, support and opportunity. See you soon smiley

But wait o...no more poopoo and weewee?

We are not afraid. grin grin grin

The cold that has been experienced in Canada for weeks is now causing issues in US.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/30/polar-vortex-us-weather-latest-temperatures-midwest-east
https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/30/us/chicago-train-tracks-fire-trnd/index.html

Reminds me of the meme that was posted in the part 1 thread about difference in response to cold between US and Canada. Searched but couldn't find it.

This polar vortex happened in Dec 2013. In far away Michigan, US, temperatures dropped to -40 with wind chills up to -60. If we survived it then we can and we will survive anything Canada throws at us.

It's been a while since I checked in here. I'm glad things are still running well here and many dreams are coming to fruition. Thanks to everyone who has added value to this thread.

Like I've done a couple of times, if there is anyone coming to YYC any time soon, I volunteer to pick you from the airport to anywhere within the city. This offer is subject to conditions such as your time of arrival and size of your luggage.

God Bless.

Better person.

Who is Oliver?

Methinks the child died immediately on impact. Even if he didn't, I don't think he survived beyond the first day because of the injuries he must have sustained.

Even if he survived the impact, CO2 buildup at the bottom of the well would have asphyxiated him. I kept searching all the news to see where fresh air or oxygen was being pumped down the well but did not find any reference.

Education / Re: 8 Things You See Daily And You Do Not Know Their Purpose by lobell: 3:46pm On Jan 26, 2019
Dekingmoses:
Have you ever wondered the purpose of some things you see every day but you do not know their meaning such as small plastic discs inside a bottle top or some metal like buttons on the pockets of your jeans? I am going to explain the purpose of this things you and probably don’t know why they are there or see them as waste of resources.

The first is the stripes on your headphones or earphones jack- these mostly are on the jack that you enter into your phone of music devices. Mostly they are dark like rings that might look like they are for decoration. They serve as purpose for to protect the wire that transmits sound to the head phones. They are usually two to three rings one for the left headphone and the other for the right and the other is neutral.

Notebook margins- when you view your book there is always margins on your far left with mostly a red line that separates them from your work. Most people believe it is left for corrections and rough work but the main purpose is to prevent your work from damage by animals such as rats that feed on book edges.

The plastic disc under the plastic bottle top of your bottle or soda- most people see it and they do not know their purpose. They help to keep gases in the drink intact and avoid it from escaping and prevent air from outside from getting in.

The hole on your lollipop sweet- most children see that hole as a whistle since it produces sound when air is blown through it. The purpose of the hole at the end of the stick is to prevent a person from choking accidentally by the sweet.

The hole in your ball pen lid and the hole in your pen- for the lid the purpose is to prevent you from accidentally swallowing the lid whereas the hole on middle of pen shaft helps circulation of air in the pen to prevent creation of a vacuum in the pen that would make the ink come out.

The button like metal rivets on the jeans pocket- they are put there to prevent your jean pockets from ripping open when placed under strenuous activity since people wear jeans mostly to strenuous work or walk.

Bia, OP, this bottle cover, is it inside 'bolla' (refuse bin) you found it?

Also, what if the rat decides to eat the book from the top or the bottom?

LMAO Chai!! You are a case grin grin
I maintain my stance joor, soft and moist and even decadent are perfect adjectives for cakes.
Think of it logically sef, what you're thinking of doesn't really answer to the soft and moist description. As a writer, if I am asked to choose two words to describe that, neither soft nor moist would make the cut. There are other adjectives that come to mind...

Kai! you have spoil patapata! Abeg o lemme come and be going before you spoil me join with more adjectives.

Actually those two words are very popular in the baking community. Those are words that are always used to describe cakes. And that's what I've always thought of whenever I see the moniker.
Google those words and your results page will be filled with all things cake.
For you to interpret it into za oza room, you are a bad shild grin grin grin

Ifeoma lemme abeg...I like soft and moist and I'm sure most people, including you do too. You don carry am go cake side now like our politicians...that's how I was watching a baker present a chocolate cake as decadent. I was like "who no like better thing?" like soft and moist... (a shiver just went down my spine).

Don’t do this. Don’t take the risk. Get your funds from financial institutions. There are lots of yahoo boys and girls posing as FX dealers. Ignore any referrals as the source of the funds may be bad. I’m confidently telling you this because of the industry I work.

You are right! Before they label someone terrorist. Actually there is a story about this somewhere on nairaland I think. I can't recall the details anymore but the family used a BDC and were arrested at POE for laundering money for terrorists or something along that line. Their case is still in court in Canada.

Let us be realistic
The poverty alleviation program initiated by GEJ wasnt as effective as that done by the PMB administration..

During GEJ's tenure we expected the SE and SS to benefit from his regime..
We expected him to complete the second Niger Brigde...dredge the river Niger and open the PH abd Calabar seaports..but none was done...

But ironically, the second niger brigde is now being completed by Buhari...

And I know with due time dredging of the river will be given attention if, this administration is allowed more time....

Atiku has spent more money than PMB and will intend to recover his cash IF he wins ....

So my verdict is that we give PMB a second chance...

Buhari does not intend to recover his cash e kwa? Wasteful dullard.

This Usain Bolt is really a good footballer and good dreabler.

Usain Bolt may have announced his retirement from football but his super goals will always be remembered.

Usain Bolt retired from football after failing to agree contract with Australian side Central Coast Mariners after his trial.

Bolt said, "I don't want to say it wasn't dealt with properly, but i think we went about it,not the way we should and you learn your lesson, you live and you learn".

That,"It was a good experience. I really enjoyed just being in a team and it was much different from track and field and it was funwhfun it lasted".

He really had a good moments in football though his career was so short.

Hi all, I was an active member in the former group.

I tried reading through the 30 pages, but was forced to share my testimony the moment I came across this.

I started my application on 23rd Aug, 2014, by Dec 20, 2014 my application was sent to ACCRA for further processing.

To cut the long stories short, I just received my passport request this last December. Accra is very very slow.

I applied as a single bachelor, within the moment of waiting, I already got married and my child is almost 3.

For people who are waiting, it will surely come to pass, just a little patience and ensure to request for your GCMS notes to be certain about what is going on. It will end in praises.

Any electrical engineer in the group but specialising as a network engineer. Please I have a lot of questions so I can be fully prepared before landing. Thanks

Government of we will we shall. So after 4 years not even one person was convicted of being corrupt. Does this mean that we are all corrupt or we are all saints? It's either there was no,substance to all the allegations of corruption or the so-called ccrusaders of anticorruption are themselves corrupt and can not in all sincerity lock anyone up for corruption without hurting themselves.
