European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m):
I don't think Barca needs an out-and-out striker. What we mostly need is Xavi and Iniesta to make through passes faster; which they have started doing lately (even if Iniesta's passing has gotten a bit off lately). They used to be one of the most accurate passers in the team, but somehow they lost that. Oh yeah, preparing replacements for them won't hurt.

Oh, and speaking of through passes, the ultimate "extreme" through pass made by Neymar to Alexis for Barca's lone goal against Espanyol is what I am talking about. We have been missing somebody willing to make through passes even through a forest of defenders. Xavi had become too comfortable with holding possession rather than risk making such a "risky" pass that may lose possession. But I have noticed he has started trying to make more through passes (though sometimes he still hesitates a bit too much allowing the receiver stray into an offside position).

Jakumo: While it may not be the case in this particular instance, there have been a number of incidents where gunmen busy robbing victims became trigger-happy when one of the victims decided to start shouting "Blood of Jeesus!", or some such challenge, only to be silenced with a shot before the second verse escaped their lips.

When confronted by armed men, and with no escape path in sight, do NOT start shouting for Jeesus to come down from heaven in a helicopter gunship and save you, because frankly, you are not that important to Jeeesus, but more to the point, He expects you to think survival first, and slogans a very distant second, preferably AFTER the shooting stops and the gang have departed.

So, in a nutshell, if you ever find yourself among a captive audience held by men vested with the supreme power of firepower, keep your dialog with Jeeesus SILENT, or you may find yourself seated on Jeeeesus' right or left side a lot sooner than would have been the case if you had only just shut the phuck up and emptied your pockets as ordered.
Even after your advise, trust me some f00ls will still shout. They will never learn the reason they got killed - which was no more than that the shouting attracts attention and distracts the robbers.

What is the problem? Though senile, Blatter was merely telling the kids to be more like Messi and less like Ronaldo. Keep a low public profile while wowing on the field of play; no chasing of prostitutes and acting like a diva.

ddippset: i need to understand these things alright, but all you guys need to learn is the language. nobody said anything about winning a match. winning a match is different to dominating a match. true; possession doesnt win you a match, but it dominates you a match. logica and i discussed 'WHO DOMINATED THE MATCH.'
55% cannot even be said to have "dominated". And as I earlier stated, you can see how close other stats are. They even had more shots on target (just one shot anyway)!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m): 9:21pm On Oct 26, 2013
ddippset: what am i saying- it is even better to judge based on ball possession than shots on target.
Well, you got it wrong. And that is why Barca sometimes loses even with all the ball possession which was my point. If with all your ball possession, you can only get 1 more or even 1 less shot on target than your opponent, it should be clear it doesn't count for much.

One more thing I have to let you understand is, Barca's ball possession policy has become more of a defensive ploy than attacking. This becomes obvious when we lose the ball; we are immediately vulnerable to a fast paced counter attack. This was not the case 3/4 years ago with the likes of Abidal, Dani Alves and Puyol in their primes. You could not beat Barca's defense for pace. Ball possession used to be an attacking ploy, it has now become defensive to hide our defensive frailties (after all as long as we keep the ball, you cannot attack us).

Yahoo1: Criticizing pique and Iniesta and yet no one said anything about Messi loosing the ball that led to the goal.

i kn sum of us will be like this;now figure dis....did Verane mark Alexis well or shuld he hv done better? .....did u see madrid complain...or Cav**** ....sorry dat name difficult...gave Neymar enuff space to shoot....so guys chill off....Defenders cnt b perfect....nd dat includes Barca defenders
Messi losing the ball did not directly lead to the Real Madrid goal. First, a somewhat tired or nonchalant Adriano who should've been tracking Jese allowed him (Jese) 3 paces ahead. And he only tried to catch up AFTER Jese received the pass from Ronaldo. I have seen Adriano cause a few goals from breakaway moves like that, simply by not being proactive enough. And then Valdes could have done better; even though he had been perfect all night. He let that one slip.

With Varane, he did what he had to; which was stay on his feet and close to Alexis, but Diego Lopez was too far off his line; so he gets the blame. But it was also a brilliant execution from Alexis. Not all goals can be completely blamed on somebody; but can be attributed to the brilliance of the scorer.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m): 8:54pm On Oct 26, 2013
ddippset: brother listen. the balance or otherwise of a game is firstly, ball possession, then others follow. dont be fooled, there is no team that doesnt wish to possess the ball. most teams when they cant get the ball off the opponent fall back and then call it a pattern. big lie. you run and run and run, sweat and sweat, put in tackles and get yellows sometimes still you cant win the ball and then you lie and call it a pattern! lol. real wanted the ball as much as barca but just couldnt get it. i will NOT remove the ball possession.
Barcelona had 8 shots on target, to Real Madrid's 7. At some point in the game, they even had 4 to Barca's 3. Goalkeepers also had about the same number of saves. And you speak of possession. There is a reason Barca sometimes losses even with much greater possession; and that's where tactics come into play. The opposing coach can show his tactical prowess by ensuring that the statistics that matter more (like shots at goal versus shots on target) are close.

ddippset: balanced game? i dont think we watched the same match.
Apparently not. A fan watched on your side; a football scholar watched on my side. Go and check the stats of the game; and of course remove the ball possession. Then tell me it was not a balanced game. If with all that ball possession yet all other stats are similar, then you should learn to better analyze a football match.

philfearon: Iniesta and Pique tried very well anyway, but still yet, they still did what i was afraid of...Iniesta lost two great posessions in danger areas, and had it been Madrid were clinical enuf,it could have conceded dose two...
Pique was much better, but look at how he stood and even dodged himself in dat Ronaldo cross..He gave Bale Leverage, and had it been he maintained his position without goin forward{knowin he has no speed},Jese wouldnt have scored..He would have contained him!
Thank you o. I was wondering why Iniesta and Pique were being praised. That cross you mentioned; did you see where both Pique and Mascherano were? Jezuz! Zero defensive positional acumen. And yeah, Iniesta's passing was just off. There were so many through passes he couldn't make that would have let Alves or Neymar loose. And yes, he was the culprit in that chance Ronaldo had which Valdes parried over the bar.

It was a balanced game and we were lucky. I take the win anyway. But it could have gone either way.

Johnpaul88: I was really impressed by the ref Mellanco. He had a decent game. At another time, he would have happily pointed to the spot when diver Penaldo dove as usual. Thank goodness the ref wasn't interested. That's how they con other refs to get them to award penalties.
That was a legit penalty and I was furious at Mascherano for making another silly challenge in the box. He's way too unrefined in the tackling department for my liking. Fortunately, Real Madrid and Penaldo had been gifted way too many dubious penalties that they appear to have run out of penalty credit; and the ref chose to overlook an actual legit penalty. grin

It does not produce gold. For your information, all the gold in the world came from outer space and all together can fit into 3 swimming pools (according to Geographic Channel grin). Nothing produces gold on Earth as it is basically a foreign element. If gold is found in the plant, then what you should do is start digging under it. That's all.
