Politics / Re: Victor Banjo's Children Speak 50 Years After His Demise by logica(m): 10:41pm On Sep 05, 2017
laliga01:

Well, those are part of the smart moves from awolowo. Gowon is just a military man, they believe in force but awo was not.
The truth is gowon forces alone were not enough to outsmart ojukwu's forces. Awolowo was the difference in the battle and why the battle didn't go beyond what it was.
...which was why Ojukwu should've listened to the wise counsel of Awolowo and Victor Banjo. Tactics over brute force. wink

laliga01:

banjo literally sabotaged ojukwu's effort to get money from CBN benin which would have fortified his troops towards advancing to Lagos.
Well, the Benin branch of the CBN was indeed looted; even though Banjo refused to. This (amongst others) basically proved that Ojukwu planted a group within Banjo's forces whose role was to take direct commands from Ojukwu himself; and also spy or even worse (maliciously) implicate Banjo with trumped up transgressions.

The curious part of your post was the assumption that any money from CBN would've been used by Banjo to purchase weapons. From where and how? On the way to Lagos? Stop by at the Gun shop in Ore and buy weapons? The money was to be shipped back to Enugu which was exactly what happened. But guess what, the money was rendered useless by a brilliant and tactical move when the FG switched the currency color.

SalamRushdie:
Why does heaven need houses, has it ever occurred to to people that a house is just a shelter to protect a person from elements of nature when at rest which is the time they are most vulnerable , so I wonder why people always imagine a mansion in heaven because such Imaginations can only come from very suppressed and fickle human minds and not God .
There is rain in Heaven; but it is made of gold. The mansion has bedroom and bed; never mind that you shouldn't need to sleep/rest. You just lie down and close your eyes and pretend to sleep for 8 hours. Then you promptly jump up to go continue singing Hallelujah all day.

Celebrities / Re: Wizkid: If I Die Today, I Die A Legend by logica(m): 5:22pm On Sep 04, 2017
chronique:

Legends are usually very old stories with little or no evidence to prove them. Legends are often passed on by word-of-mouth. They are very similar to myths. Legends can also be famous or historically significant people, places, art, etc..

That's just a simple English definition from Wikipedia. Some other definition of legends, refers to them as myths believed and told from generation to generation...

What exactly makes Wizkid a legend? I'd like to know. Does it mean any famous or popular person is a legend?
Any pacesetter has achieved legendary status; legends will be told about him. He is therefore a legend.

Start by defining the word; then tell us what makes him NOT a legend.

it is Nigeria that makes you a Yoruba, if Nigeria goes, God forbid, you will come to know that there a marked distinction between an ijebu man and an awori or egba; or ekiti and osun state. Same also with the noise makers- Igbo/ipob, they will come to the really of wawa Igbo and OSU Igbo; IMO and abia dichotomy; those called Hausa IBO or the ika IBO. Presently, the ikwere people prefer to identify with worms than to be called IBO.
We had the Western Region led by Awolowo (an Ijebu) who was respected across all sub-groups and built up Ibadan to become a leading city in Africa (and not Ijebu Ode, Ikenne or some other town in Ijebu land); did it make a difference? Your theory holds no water. We as Yoruba are able to settle our differences internally and rise above sub-group affiliations.

Zenith bank has ajose adeogun, Fidelity bank has falomo roundabout... abd some other companies have underataken different landscaping responsibilites with go-ahead from the LASG, are they landscaping companies?

the average nigerian is quite stupid. The signboard clearly shows that the asun company is right there in costain, so they are probably undertaking
the project in partnership with Lagos state government to increase the visibility and public awareness of their business while making a positive contribution, it is called CSR.
I thought about that angle. But I clearly remember seeing signboards for CSR/PPP projects before; clearly stating the terms of the project. The signboard clearly did not, and you can excuse anybody for concluding when necessary information is missing.

You are abusing the Police. OK. But how about you who already concluded the investigation and decided that she was murdered? What or where did you get the idea from? Do you realize the man she spent the night with might be completely unaware she has passed? There are lots of people with health challenges out there; and some of them are even unaware of those health problems because they do not do health check-ups. The girl may have died after the man had left, and he would not even have known.

Nigerian celebrities at the slightest online debate or squabble, resort to calling everyone broke. It's like an ingrained punchline.
