Exactly my point, that's what the media told us about the Military regime. I tell you that if the politicians had remained in power, Nigeria would have been in deeper shit than we are now. Politicians are crazy people only out for their fat pockets. That's why even Trump (military background) took out mainstream media during and after his campaign, which played to his advantage. Media is a powerful political tool.

Funny enough I totally agree with this writeup. I believe it's mostly media propaganda used to equalize his autocracy. military men make some of the best leaders and in the first instance it was the highly fantastically corrupt politicians that pushed Nigeria to where we are now. The military just had to do damage control.

Oil was 11 Dollar per barrel coupled with sanctions by the Western powers I still find it miraculous how he was able to run the country and have so much savings. Personally I believe he was involved in private businesses that gave him money and didn't directly dip hand into Nigerian money. Maybe oil bunkering, diamonds in Liberia/Sierraleone and drugs which cannot be referred to as loot in the real sense of it.

The letter to Customs was dated November 12th, 2016 which means there had been underground moves to take delivery of the containers using his position as the Chairman of Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff. But when Customs wouldn't play ball, he decided to threaten them with "probe". The chronology of events shows that the seizure came before the probe.
