Another suspected member of the gang, Ifeanacho Igwe (35), told Crime Guard that he was forced into robbery by one Nnamdi, whom he said invited him over after he requested financial assistance from him. The invitation according to Igwe, turned out to be his worst nightmare. According to him: “ As a commercial motorcyclist, Nnamdi invited me to take him to a location, promising to give me some money I earlier requested for. That was in 2011 But on reaching the location at Alakija bus-stop, it turned out to be a robbery operation scene. I couldn’t turn back because it was late and I was afraid they could kill me. I had no option than to play along. They succeeded in collecting N85 million from a victim and at the end I got N25 million. Since then, I cut off totally from them. I lost everything I used that money on; I bought a new truck for N14 million and a commercial bus , including a sports utility vehicle for my personal use. I used the rest to renovate my mother’s house and support my siblings’ education. Since that robbery operation my entire life has gone from bad to worse. I gave the truck out to a driver to use for transportation purpose. While on a business trip to the eastern part of the country, it rammed over someone before it somersaulted into a river, with goods worth several millions of naira. As if that was not enough, I am in the police net for a crime committed four years ago. My past sins have caught up with me,” he stated in an emotion- laden voice Sorry o, King of Armed Robbers. barackohandso: The same one that puts matthieu in LB position. That wasn't a bad idea. Besides, Matthieu had played that position on occasion at Valencia. The idea was to add extra height to the defense. Alba may be pacy, but obviously vertically challenged. I was indeed taken aback when Matthieu seemed out of sorts and committed many blunders in the Clasico. I put it down to nerves and the fact that the coach didn't discuss and drill him well ahead of time (Matthieu was only told the day before). |

Johnpaul88: That game is important to our form at this crucial point in the season If that defeat didn't take place, we may not have been able to pick up this current run of form. Guy, it seems you are out to troll today. Fact remains that Enrique was set straight by the reaction of the fans and The Board. Take it or leave it, his job was on the line after Anoeta. His margins for error had reduced drastically, therefore he had to use the best guys ALL the time. |

Johnpaul88: Cryuff has never hidden his disdain for Rosell and in extension, this administration. It's not a surprise that he criticizes everything they do, even without verifiable reasons. He could even support Madrid to spite them. Sooner or later this administration would be gone. It'll be interesting to see if his bitterness would be gone too and he begun to see things differently again. It is on record that I have no fondness for this administration either. But you cannot throw out the baby with the bath water. As the Yoruba saying goes: "Even as you cry, you can still see". |

Krasid: Neymar should be made the star of this barca team. What do you think? Even Neymar himself knows who the star is; and defers to him. That is why He and Messi have been so deadly. They haven't merely developed a partnership; they have a FRIENDSHIP. I am so glad Ney has silenced all the doubters who thought he couldn't work with Messi; even the great Yohan Cruyff. Though these days whenever those who should know better speak (like Yohan), I wonder if they are speaking from the selfish POV or simply gone senile. |

The Atleti captain was also particularly annoyed by Neymar's behaviour at the Vicente Calderón. "He has a peculiar way of playing, especially when he's winning. He makes gestures out on the pitch, especially when he's winning. Nobody likes to lose and his behaviour can be annoying". Dey hear sore loser. Talking like a kid. Every sports player knows this tactic: simply to rile the opponent and make him (the opponent make mistakes). This has been used in every sport since the inception of sports (and borrowed from the "Art of War" by Sun Tzu); even Mohammed Ali uses it often. |

whitestar01: interesting things dat I Neva knew but wat about corruption? Corruption was alien to most African civilizations. Even stealing was taboo. These you can tell from the difference between how African civilizations lived and Europeans lived. For instance, Yoruba houses don't have doors or barricades. You are free to enter and exit. Compare to the European counterparts and see the difference. Also, when Yorubas encountered a stranger, they welcomed him. The ancient Europeans on seeing strangers quickly enter their homes and barricade themselves and their families. Let me also mention that up till today, the practice of anonymous trading is still practiced in Japan. We also practiced this. Europeans of course always found this strange because honesty has never been natural to them. Anonymous trading is simply a manner of exchanging goods (usually farm produce) for money by leaving the product on a public road side piled on a mat and people pick what they want; placing money on the mat in exchange for the goods they pick. We could no longer practice this as we adopted the European systems and manner of living. The Japanese stayed true to their traditions while modernizing. That's the difference. |

afolag: The last line open my mind to something I suspect over a period of time. that yoruba language is spoken in some america movies, Bourne identity, Fat girls, lost, and many more could this be true or just a coincidence? What is the big deal in Yoruba being spoken in American movies? Many times when American movies cast a role for an "African" of ambiguous origin, it is filled by a Yoruba who of course speaks his vernacular (and of course they never bother to check the accuracy of the message he conveys). |

ehie: I read somewhere that igbo slaves taken to America formed held their hands in a circular manner and went to the missippi river singing drowned themselves after embarking from the ship.they would rather be dead than slaves. It happened in 1803 and it's called ebo landing. I think that was heroic Sorry to douse your fire, but here we are talking about historic achievements from various ethnic groups in Nigeria. Enslavement and committing suicide does not figure here. If you have any such history of the Igbo (not those taken away as slaves) please share. |

WORLDPEACE: You know the west always tries to explain any kind of development in black africa with the hamitic hypothesis. Now that there is no such resemblance here they have to go as far away as the incas; a people without iron technology before contact with the europeans. I schooled in Ife and you can still see the potsherd pavements in certain areas buried under the ground exposed by erosion. having been thought about it in a history class, it brought tears to my eyes when i stumbled on it in front of my house. tradition has it that it was constructed by the only female ooni in Ife history. Hmm. I school in Ife and apparently I was too self-absorbed that I never heard about this. I will look more into this. |

The conclusion on the last item is dubious. A more likely explanation is the Yorubas independently developed paving technique similar to the Incas. |

babyosisi: Why are Yorubas very proud of being babymamas and having children out of wedlock This is just so absurd Virtually every Yoruba actress out there is borning pikin and proud of it Shouldn't illegitimate births be a shameful thing in any decent culture? This is why I tell Igbo girls to marry Yoruba men at their own peril Their idea about marriage and family is totally different from ours Theirs is the only culture I know where a married man will impregnant mistresses and his family members including mother and sisters and uncles and sometimes wives will happily wear asho ebi to go and do naming ceremony and owanbe It boggles the mind how this sort of thing can be acceptable Alu There is hardly any yoruba person that doesn't have comma in their family history Either dem papa play away match born pikins or dem mama Born for other people wey no be their papa The day I heard from a Yoruba person that in their culture once a mistress has your baby, she becomes equated to a wife,I said Tufiakwa I hope non yorubas know this their belief before going in Sebi Genevieve is Yoruba. Even Grace Amah is Yoruba. Should I continue listing these "Yoruba" women proud to have children out of wedlock? |
