Traditionally in Igbo land, if the woman ‘s family did not return the bride price. Any child the woman gave birth to after separation belongs to her husband. I mean her former husband. Men have to be careful in marrying separated or divorced women becos if the man happens to marry the woman when the woman’s family failed to return the bride price to her ex husband hence the present husband is just giving birth for another person. The reason is that it is assumed that the woman is still married to her ex husband. So returning the price is the first thing to do before the woman can remarry. If they did court wedding, they can as well file for divorce where all the conditions will be listed including how the man will be seeing his child and also amount for the child’s upkeep.

They have finally turned this business to yeye. You will be on Fola Osibo and get a request on admiralty. You call to ask rider where she is going. Rider will say she is going to lick ice cream at the place on admiralty. Can you imagine?

I have been driving all week and cant boast of solid 20k . Mind you that its my car.

If am being honest, I met a driver yesterday that still makes 70-100 k a week because I checked his account. But believe me when I say this guy is dying. Looking all dusty and alien. You can decipher immediately that his life span is being tempered with because his eyes are red and you can see weakness all over his body. He is almost looking like an animal. I can swear that this guy have not had a good sleep in months. How can somebody be on Uber 3% on monday already if not madness? Telling me he drives everyday from 5 am till 11 pm?

As am even talking, all my body is paining me. If I will advise anyone reading this; THIS THING IS NOT A JOB. IT IS A SLOW KILLER. Find a way and get out of this thing before it harms you.

Just ask yourself one question as an Uber driver.

Ever since you started driving, can you boast of solid 1 million saved from Uber or Bolt work? You see what I mean?

Can you eventually build a house in Ikorodu or Ayobo doing Uber work? I dont even want to mention ordinary Anthony not to talk of Lekki or VGC.

Most drivers I know can barely feed, pay rent and feed at same time not to talk of building house.

If you don't know let me clear your eyes on the real people you are working for;

Bolt or Uber
Mechanics

My fellow Nairalanders,

As this epidemic has ravaged our country I have directed resources to where they are needed.

As Uber drivers are their own bosses and not employees, they surely have reserves for this trying period that has just started. As such, I have directed all resources to our more vulnerable citizens in the form of my 31 employees through additional cash bonuses for bulk food purchases to assure that they do not starve. We are also managing resources so they continue to receive paychecks while this pandemic continues.

Should this pandemic be extended, extra resources- if available - may discretely be shared with non-CEO Uber employees with good employment history and customer service (like chillex8) on a need-based assessment as there have already been a couple of recipients approved and provided for.

I gave this rider grace of a week but he is proving stubborn

I picked him on a surge of 1.6 from Maryland and to lekki phase 1 and we suffled 4 different destinations...he was acting rich and let's go let's go geng...after the whole moving lekki..trip ended at 8000 and I showed him and he said he needs the receipt to confirm on his own side and I explained to him that his receipt will be generated only if I confirm his payment...long story short..he invited one of his friends and that one start threating this and that...after long delay he parted with 5k that if he gets the receipt he will send the balance.. I swiped confirm and the receipt wasnt sent same time to him. But he got it the next day I confirmed from our call...I sent my acc det...and just to call through to let him know I have sent my details...he has already blocked me, used my second number he blocked that as well..I was on the verge of even leaving the balance..so I called with one of my friend phone the next day....he picked and he said I should do my worse that he won't pay one naira extra.

My plan was type his number before in A4 paper as a fast loan giver and paste around Lagos...
