But for real, if Amaechi has not stolen funds or has nothing to be scared of, let him go to court and clear himself, the same way Jonathan and his ex-ministers should go and clear themselves if they've got clean hands. |
I hope this Tom and Jerry romance will not end in the demise of one of them. Amaechi - Jerry Wike - Tom |
Former Governor of River State, Rotimi Amaechi on Monday described the panel set up by his successor, Nyesom Wike to probe his administration as a silly distraction to deceive the public. In a press statement released by the former governor’s office, Amaechi said probe was an attempt to distort his statement on the amount of money he left in the state treasury. https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Wike-Amaechi.jpg Wike and Amaechi “Again, our attention has been drawn to comments by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, where he attempts to justify his fraudulent, sham probe of the immediate past governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and distort our statement on the amount of money Amaechi left in the State treasury. No matter how hard Wike tries, the public can clearly see through his fraudulent deception and the sham he calls Commission of Inquiry to probe Amaechi. That panel was set up to indict Amaechi of corruption. Everything about the probe commission is at variance with the ethics and laws of a fair, just and unbiased probe commission.” Indeed, the hack panel has not disappointed its paymaster since it started its shambolic public hearings. As we earlier warned, it is a comedy to grab media headlines with bogus, phantom and fabricated claims of corrupt practices against former governor Amaechi. He added, ” The public hearings have become a comedy of errors for the media. We maintain that Wike’s probe commission shall not achieve anything beyond political excitements, entertainment and theatrics. However, what the public may not know is that Wike’s deceptive probe of Amaechis a distraction to entertain and keep the public focus on his circus show, while he siphons and salt away billions of naira from the State treasury. From the moment he stepped into Government House, Port Harcourt, Wike has run a government of lies, deception and fraud. He first made a show and gave a performance of his false accusations that Amaechi stripped the Governor’s Lodge bare, saying that the former governor stole spoons, plates, knives, cups, mattresses, forks and even curtains from the Governor’s Lodge! However, in the images Wike showed to back his lies, the curtains in the lodge were clearly there, seen and intact. Wike then claimed he met a completely empty treasury. That again is another big lie and grand deception to steal state funds. We have said that former governor Amaechi left billions of naira and we even went ahead to mention the banks and give the names of the accounts the money were, as at May 29, 2015. We repeat that N7.5billion cash were left behind as balances in the State Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) account with Skye Bank, FAAC account with Zenith Bank, balances with Access Bank and funds in the State reserve fund account in First Bank. This is besides other balances in the state Government House account with Zenith Bank and other government Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs) accounts, like the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP). Amaechi left N939 million naira in the Commercial Agric Credit Scheme Account in Zenith Bank. By the time you pull all these balances together, we are looking at readily available cash in the region of eight to ten billion naira left for the Wike administration. We have mentioned banks, account names and funds left in the accounts. These are facts that cannot be distorted by Wike. If Wike says he’s not lying that he met an empty treasury, we challenge him to publish the statements of these government accounts that we have mentioned and other Rivers State government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) accounts as at May 29; to prove his claim and show the public that Amaechi left an empty treasury for him. But, we dare say, he will not because he runs a government of lies, deception and fraud, always wanting to hoodwink the public. Rather than this comedic, puerile and silly distraction he calls probe commission, Wike should explain to Rivers people what happened to the funds Amaechi left, the N30 billion naira loans he took under 30 days and other funds that has accrued to Rivers State since he became governor. Amaechi left a legacy of accountability; Rivers people expect nothing less from Wike. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/wikes-probe-a-silly-distraction-amaechi/ |

lalasticlala:I guess you should hear yourself out very well. What other thread? There are lots and lots of post that hit the front page with just photos to be captioned or commented on or serve as hilarious messages and you are saying mine is not rich. Rich in what? As visible as it is, what I posted is different from what you posted. You have no valid point Mr. Just admit you are not fair on this matter. I am not being paid for posting a topic but when people make efforts, don't trample upon them just because you are in a position of power. I have complained about this scenario, not once not twice. In another dimension, why would you remove my comment in the first place from https://www.nairaland.com/2565802/rccg-suspends-pastor-over-pasumas. On what ground? It is a fair comment expressing my opinion and view without any derogatory remarks. Why should it be moved? I have been on this forum since 2008 and this place means a lot to some of us. Nigeria’s secret police on Sunday, disclosed that it had arrested notable Boko Haram suspects, including a key commander, linked with several suicide attacks across the country, reports AFP. https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/DSS-OPEARTIVES-e1433970231484.jpg DSS OPEARTIVES The Department of State Services (DSS) said in a statement said that Usman Shuiabu known as Money and other frontline members of the hardline Islamist group were picked up in Lagos, Kano, Plateau, Enugu and Gombe states between July and August. “Of particular note was the arrest on 8th July, 2015 in Gombe state of those responsible for the coordination and execution of the suicide attacks in Potiskum, Kano, Zaria and Jos. “Shuaibu admitted being the leader of the team of nine sect members that was dispatched from Sambisa Forest to carry out the attacks. He disclosed that four out of the nine of them were used as suicide bombers in executing all the suicide attacks,” it said. It said the arrest of Shuaibu and other core members of his cell had stemmed the spate of bombings by the extremist sect. The DSS said its operatives had also frustrated plans by the insurgents to attack the financial capital of Lagos. “The sudden influx of Boko Haram members into Lagos state points to the determination of the sect to extend its nefarious terrorist activities to the state and in fact, other parts of the country,” it said. “The arrest of these confessed terrorist elements has however helped in no small measure to avert devastating attacks in the area,” it added. The DSS said it would continue to work with other stakeholders in the fight against Boko Haram extremists. The agency said on Friday it had arrested a 14-year-old boy spying for Boko Haram at the Abuja airport. The Islamists have carried out deadly ambushes across Nigeria’s borders and in recent weeks suicide bombers, many of them women, have staged several attacks in Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad. Boko Haram, which is seeking to carve out a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria, has killed some 15,000 people since 2009. A regional 8,700-strong force aimed at ending the insurgency is due to deploy within days. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/dss-arrests-bharam-commander-linked-with-suicide-attacks/ |

The presidency on Saturday advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop playing down achievements so far recorded by President Muhammadu Buhari. This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the president’s Senior Special Assistant, Media, Malam Garba Shehu. Shehu said the PDP should rather bury its head in shame for subjecting Nigeria to the ``worst economic plunder through corruption’’ in its recent history. Shehu was reacting to the statement issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, that ``the economy is going down’’ under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. ``It is ridiculous for any sane government to artificially rebase the economy and claim to transform Nigeria into the largest economy in Africa as the PDP administration did.’’ He also said that the defeated former ruling party was artificially manipulating statistics to create the illusion of impressive economic performance record. He said if PDP’s claim of economic successes in terms of GDP, employment generation, poverty alleviation and others were genuine, Nigerians would not have voted the party out of power. He said if the former ruling party was doing well, the opposition parties would have found it difficult to defeat it. The president’s aide said the PDP assumed performance was nothing more than window dressing, and a detachment from reality. ``Nigerians no longer face exploitation at filling stations because the government is taking punitive measures against marketers that punish poor Nigerians.’’ He said queues had disappeared at the filling stations and the Naira was enjoying favourable exchange rate. According to him, the present administration has successfully blocked leakages and other avenues for corruption. He said the administration had also frustrated efforts by corrupt elements to divert public funds to private pockets. Once the formal trial for corruption begins, the PDP might no longer have the moral legs to stand on. http://pulse.ng/politics/buhari-presidency-replies-pdps-attack-on-administration-id4117981.html

A Nigerian was among 10 members of Boko Haram executed by firing squad on Saturday in Chad, after being found guilty of killing 38 people in the country. The Nigerian, Mahamat Mustapha, also known as Bana Fanaye, according to Chadian authorities, masterminded the June 15 suicide attacks that struck a school and a police building in N’Djamena, killing 38 people and injuring 101. “They were executed this morning (Saturday) on a shooting ground north of N’Djamena,” a judicial source told Agence France-Presse. The report was confirmed by a security source who asked not to be identified. The 10 were condemned to death on Friday in the country’s first trial of presumed members of the Islamist group. The hearings opened on Wednesday. The defendants were accused of criminal conspiracy, killings, “wilful destruction with explosives, fraud, illegal possessions of arms and ammunition, as well as using psychotropic substances.” Following Mustapha’s capture in June, Chad’s top prosecutor, Alghassim Kassim, said the suspect was the “ringleader of a network smuggling weapons and munitions between Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad”. Meanwhile, a statement by a spokesperson for the Department of State Services, Tony Opuiyo, on saturday, said the agency disrupted a spying network mounted by Boko Haram terrorists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. http://www.punchng.com/news/chad-executes-bharam-members/ |

The Department of State Services have posted out personnel who served as Body Guards to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to various state commands. According to a report by Vanguard, the posting of the over 150 body guards is coming three months after they had remained redundant following the directive by the ADC to President Muhammadu Buhari. The report further revealed that while some of the DSS personnel were posted to the headquarters,a large number were posted to various state commands of the service. 'Almost all of our personnel who were body guards in the villa have been transferred out of the state House. A new crop of body guards who were trained for the purpose have taken over. 'They will take over from the soldiers who were initially drafted to man the various beats hitherto occupied by the DSS personnel. That phase of transition is over,' the source said. http://pulse.ng/local/jonathan-dss-post-ex-presidents-bodyguards-out-of-aso-rock-id4116360.html |
