Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Do Employers Do This. What Happened To Me With A Principal by lomaxx: 1:11pm On Sep 07, 2021
She was probably testing how you’d respond under pressure. You have to learn how to take control of employer-employee conversations. It’s an art. She was already with your file. You didn’t need to ask for it back. It could as well have been banter around your subject matter (which you admittedly outperformed).

And even if she hates you, she doesnt hate your competence. Which is why she still retained your application until you asked for it back.

I know say country rough, but you have to be level headed and learn not to take things personally

Congrats indeed. This was the approach I took in getting my visa last year. I am curious though, did you get funding? Reason I ask is that UNSW is one of the most expensive schools over there and I had to abandon their offer when I did not get funding from them. BTW, I got a mail from my school deferring my resumption to July 2022 (I did not even ask them). So, there is some realisation that newly commencing student not likely form a big chunk of the small batches that may enter the country this year and early next year
Yeah I had a scholarship. Funny thing is I had the scholarship in Nov 2019 but I couldn’t take up the offer. The scholarship was given again in Jan 2021. That’s when I knew it was destiny

The total tuition is about $210,000 so I agree with the expensive bit.

I was hoping that one day I would give my testimony on this thread. I got my 5-year visa grant yesterday for a PhD in Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Applied Feb 3, 2021 and it has been 3+ interesting months. I did it all by myself because of the experiences shared on this thread - I started from the very beginning and read every page. This is me saying thank you to everyone that shared their stories.

Now we wait for the borders to open.

Good Morning House, Please can someone defer their admission from July to February after starting classes and paying school.

For example, I apply for July intake and starting processing visa but the visa grants came buy August or September of which I have started classes. Is it possible to defer this admission to January, and do I need to submit another visa application??
How did you begin classes offshore without enrolling with a visa, in the first place? Is it possible?

The blood profile seems normal but the ESR is high. ESR is a non specific marker so you can't specify what's wrong. See a doctor for evaluation and specific management plan.

I don't know if someone told Akwa Ibomites that presenting a statistics table is the answer to the plethora of issues bedeviling Akwa Ibom.

Their population is largely uneducated, poor, unexposed, unsophisticated and unenlightened. And their Governors usually have a money-miss-road approach to development. And when you point out all these to them, they point a statistics chart to you.

When what is on the chart and stas table isnt tangible in real life, you need to do away with those charts and statistics tables and face reality.
You have an obvious problem with Akwa Ibom. I went through your posts and you have an obsession. You’re mostly comparing Akwa Ibom with Rivers and all worth not. This is hate. I don’t know where it came from but there is hate in your heart and you are irredeemable.

TESTIMONY TIME !!!!!!!!!!

I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone here especially Dr lagusta and other pioneer Bosses who kick-started this thread.

I had given up on studying medicine after staying back home for almost 5 yrs due to financial issues.

I visited Nairaland once in a while but never discovered this thread until last year, accidentally even.

I had just finished 100l in a biological course after getting admission in 2017 when things turned a corner for us financially.

I was generally unhappy with my life and was bordering on acute depression back then, until I saw myself here unintentionally.

The posts I came across here and the diaries that I read( and still following) lit a fire under my belly and I started believing that i could really pull this off inspite of me being a shadow of my Secondary school self academically.

I decided to give it my last shot and by the grace of God and with the help of most people here(bulk of them unknowingly) I am now a fresh medical student in Enugu State University (Esut) by Merit.

I will forever remain grateful to God and my Messiahs here.

Special mention goes to:
Lagusta
lomaxx
Starfx
Elzak
jargo89
Mandeyy

And many others( can't remember all their monikers), in fact everyone here played a pivotal role in my success, even those I kinda ruffled with, I learned from all of it and will make sure I put all I've learnt here to great use.

PS: I have a new account now (Medicblaze), this should my last post with this very one.
Clean slate.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

God bless you All.
Congratulations
