X-mind:
Any selection process conducted for nnpc by a consultant like phillipps consulting will usually bring out the best candidates as successful. The problem with that is that some of the top mgt people will not like it. They would want to be able to bring in their wards without merit.
I ask you all to pray so that the final results are not manipulated.
All this talk about mass failure is rubbish. The questions were easy enough for any true graduate or even ND graduates to do well.
You hit the nail on the head, very simple.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: What To Expect In The NNPC Job Interview by lonamy: 11:22am On Oct 14, 2011
Syenite:
Congrats to those that have received invitations. Over 4,000 candidates(can't remember the exact figure now) made it to the interview stage.

Firstly NNPC recruitment in based on quota system. Almost equal number of applicants will be taken from all the states and FCT. This implies that you are competing against people from your state. And this will in turn go down to LGA by LGA.So if you have a family member or a cousin in the race it means u are virtually fighting for one slot.
Under this system situations arises where a Candidate from State A with 50% score in the interview will be employed while a candidate from State B with 80% score might not be employed. So those of you from educationally developed states should brace up for the challenge.I am sure you know those states

What to equip yourself with:
When NNPC was established and under what decree
NNPC's Core Businesses
NNPC Subsidiaries and their operational functions
The Refineries and their various Refining capacities
Which of the NNPC subsidiaries u'll like to work with and why?
Why do you want to work with the NNPC.
Why do you want to work in the Oil industry
Why do you want to leave your former place of work(if you are already working)
Where do you hope to be in 10years time?
Understand your discipline and how you can apply it in the oil industry
Know the name of the current and immediate past GMD
Expect that you’ll be asked atleast one basic question about your discipline
Know where the head quarters of each of the Subsidiaries are located say Benin, Warri, Lagos etc.
Research the operations of the Subsidiaries so you’ll know which one you can fit in.(I am currently working with the subsidiary I mentioned during my interview so take your time to research, though it does not totally follow)

Look smart and composed. It’s usually a friendly interview and note that your line of discussion will mostly go in line with your responses so be sure of what to say. But please don’t be too confident else you’ll sound arrogant.

I’m speaking from experience. The above where questions asked me and some of my colleagues who I am working with now. So expect most of the questions to come from them.
Know that NNPC will not take everybody.
Best of God. I hope to meet you as colleagues soon.
bros, e don te we hear from you now. Thanks for your info as quoted here it was very helpful during the interview.

But sir, what is the latest on the job now? What is NNPC doing, when are they going to start calling successful candidates?
I will be vey happy to hear from you. Thanks.

The test was said to be very elementary, for GT and EH, who may have completed school several years ago. The questions were vague had no direct skill related matrix,. The KPIs for the interview were not broadly favorable to skill and discipline.
A general consensus was that the process should be halted. PCL carried on with the process without recourse to the age long practice of recruitment in the NNPC. A manager can recommend a person to HR for employment in his field. However, managers and above were sidelined. From the way PCL was carrying on, the big boys had no say. Time to get their pound of flesh, they determine the next process. Powerful politicians they are, even the minster knows the consequence of working without them.
The minister gave a very passionate speech appealing to their consciences on the impact of a supposed cancellation. She spoke of another recruitment taking place in almost a year’s time that would build on these mistakes. Some didn’t budge. She spoke about her integrity and that of the Good luck administration. That broke the ice. Tempers became assuaged and it was ratified for the process to continue. The ED CS was given matching orders to ensure that the situation is properly managed, and hence forth, everyone is carried along.
This is politics at the highest level. I think the minister is directly behind the action of PCL in not carrying the MGT along in the process really don’t know what this current marriage would lead to.
It’s time the house got on their knees; the vultures in our nation are on rampage. I hope they won’t usurp people for their people. This week, there has been so many cvs and resume dropping and moving around. This carry along process must not affect the saints in the house. They remain untouchable. People whose blood is bitter.
we have gone through this kind before, and remember, we came out victorious. this one too will fall like the rest.
the power of our knees can break any combined force from hell.
not a time to fight, pass blames, find faults, etc, we got here by HIS grace,  our eyes are still fixed on HIM  embarassed
Waho, God will be with His own. No matter how many CVs are flowing around, Gd will sail His own thru.

brethen,im sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys.
there is so much work and travelling.ive not sat on a computer for a long time.
i cant give much details, but here is the findings.
there was much pressure to cancel the process, even phillips consulting admitted to several flaws.
however, the credibility and integrity of the GEJ adminstartion and ALLISON MADUEKE involvement will be in jeopardy.
at the board meeting to make arrangement towards ladans burial, it was decided to complete the process, and manage effectively the hiccups.
ED CS, was mandated to go to the next stage.
check nexus alliance ltd, and youll see they have already commeneced trainig arrangements.
its coming soon.

I think "SoccerGospel" is now becoming more lucrative than ordinary Gospel. Imaging a Pastor having a football size stadium as a church and filled with spectators. After the sermon then followed by the church football team play soccer, and entertaining spectators. After the church's local team, then followed by Chelsea vs Arsenal, I think this will draw more people to church especially the men. And after that collect offering. That Pastor will be the richest Pastor in Nigeria. This will make men of God be able to  predict accurately the result of football match. Or what do you thinkhuh  grin  grin  grin   grin grin  grin  grin  grin

emiye:
Why do you think this dude is boasting ? When facts and figures are peddled around, there is no midway. it is either a lie or truth. I for one share the same thought pattern.  You will be deceiving yourself if you dont know there is a wide disparity between the North and South in terms of Education.

A critical look at the way the nnpc was conducted, shows that it tends to favour folks with science and engineerin background, and You will need to squeeze water out of the rocks to get sizeable and quality folks studyin this courses in the North eastern and North western part of the country,  Take Yobe state for example, how many science and engineering tailored graduates have they produced in the last 5 yearshuh   Don't becloud your reasoning with tribal sentiments.
@hausawa1

I think emiye is very right. NNPC is refocusing her business and wanted to employ mostly engineers and most brilliant ones in Nigeria, which geo-political region have them in abundance that fit into the focus.
North don't study engineering and science as the southern guys do. And the way things are going, the feudalism prank deception of the north over the south is working against them because the world is gradually changing, every aspect of live is becoming technologically influenced. Most of the telecoms job in the country are run by the southern brains, how many northerners are in the telecoms core operation, except in the, say, admin or other paper work aspect.

In the oil and gas industry, who are the people runing things. I think the northern youths should form a forum that will liberate them from the "maradonic" activities of their leaders. Their leaders make all the money, they have so BIG stakes in the oil and gas industry because most of them had stolen money in the government and had been in one powerful government position before and had used the position to aggrandise power and wealth to themsleves and are seriously enriched, but how many northern youths have they really helped with these power they have. Instead, they manipulated Educationally less developed states syndrome which is at the detriment of the northern youths because the system has put them below and behind their southern counterparts in terms of academic excellence. WAEC results, NECO results, JAMB result mass failure, 60% are from the north.

The BIG rich northern boys are not doing anything to alleviate the poverty ravaged norther citizens, but militarise them to their personal advantage. I think the northern youths are under a bondage of slavery, but in a manner that portrays they are free people but they live a life acording to the dictates and desire of bad leadership.

Northern youths, the time has come for you to arise and take your destinies in your hands and fight for justice that will liberate you from 21st century advanced slavery that have erroded your self value, and right orientation. TALK to yourselves.

@silaV Thank you very much for your obhjectivity and creative mind. I can see that you have the mind of Christ. You 3. suggestions are very correct except for the cheap popularity. I don't need it, nobody knows who I am on NL.

I may have misled the house which I think is correct now, but I was right before. The information reaching me now is far worse than the one I gave you guys before if it is going to be true.
I learnt that because of the mass failure during the test, they are considering re conducting the test all over again. The management were concerned about why should 1st class and 2-1 students would have failed woefully. I think they realised some loop hole in the arrangement of the test. Because most of the people that took the test have graduated long time ago it will be difficult to remember secondary school questions.

So, there is hope for thos who lost in the test, if this nes idea is carried out. Because the Management want nothing but they brilliant ones, this was deeply emphasised in their last meeting. If this is to be carried out then dispatching of letters to the courier services may have been halted.

House lets wait for the response from NNPC.

Have a good day.

Nigeria is not ready for Nuclear Power now. The level of corruption in this country can not make Nuclear Power stations work in this country.
Why not spread it across the 6 geo political zones.

I believe the people behind this thing are the Northern people. They are aware of the danger associated with Nuclear Power so, they don't want it sited in their vicinities. Why not Kano and Kaduna.

Please lets be very smart, what they want to do is to destroy the south western cities and make the places unlivable. By the time the thing is sited, they will use BOKO HARAM to come and attack the plants and put people into prolems.

Foreign AffairsIbb’s Aide Called Atiku, Tinubu, Opc Al-qaeda Agents To Get Us Support! by lonamy(op): 1:51pm On Sep 07, 2011
By NewsAdmin on September 7, 2011

One of the leaked US embassy cables has revealed that one of the close advisers of former military President Ibrahim Babangida made allegations before the American consular General that former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and even the Odua Peoples’Congress had links with the notorious terrorist organisation, Al-Qaeda. The move was apparently made in order to get America’s support for IBB’s presidential ambition then.

The American Consular however noted in the cable that it should be taken as an effort to damage political opponents’ reputations. The cable was dated August 13, 2005 and it reads in part:

S E C R E T SECTION 01 OF 02 LAGOS 001277

SUBJECT: NIGERIA: REPORTED AL QA’IDA ACTIVITY

Classified By: Consul General Brian Browne for reasons 1.4(b) and (d)

1. (S) Summary. Professor Ukandi Damachi, a long-time Mission contact and close advisor to former head-of-state Ibrahim Babangida, recently told us about a chance encounter he had with pro-Obasanjo members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) executive. These partisans alleged an association between Vice President Atiku, Lagos Governor Tinubu and Al Qa’ida. According to Damachi, the PDP members told him the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), a loose and curious amalgam of some Yoruba politicians, street thugs, and other ne’er-do-wells, founded in the late 1990′s, had received funding from Al Qa’ida. The PDP official claimed both Vice President Atiku and Lagos Governor Tinubu were involved in this transaction, which was intended to finance the OPC destabilization of southern Nigeria. Damachi

maintained the PDP members said President Obasanjo was aware of these events. Vice President Atiku and Governor Tinubu, both in Obasanjo’s doghouse, have been long-time allies and are in ongoing discussions about forming a presidential ticket for the 2007 elections. This information has not/not been corroborated and may be intended to shape USG thinking on Nigeria’s presidential aspirants. End Summary.

2. (S) Damachi asserted that he encountered senior PDP leaders July 22 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. The party figures were awaiting the arrival of PDP Chairman Ahmadu Ali and President Obasanjo. Damachi told the Consul General that the PDP officials, including the party’s vice-chairman for the Southwest, began to discuss this matter openly with him. Then they also raised this issue with party

chairman Ali who arrived at the airport before the President. Ali purportedly expressed both his and the President’s awareness of the alleged transaction. Ali, however, terminated this discussion, asserting that the groups’ top project at the moment was the impending PDP political rally in Lagos. After the rally, they would discuss this sensitive issue.

3. (S) Damachi asserted the PDP officials told him that Atiku and Tinubu were supporting this Al Qa’ida/OPC nexus out of political desperation. Both men would likely have their 2007 national political ambitions dashed by President Obasanjo. In response to this likely predicament, they would attempt to make parts of Nigeria ungovernable, in hopes of crippling

Obasanjo or even forcing his ouster. In the midst of the resultant turmoil, they would be able to revive their ambitions for the Presidency and Vice Presidency.

4. (C) Damachi also heard from his PDP interlocutors that President Obasanjo planned to dump Vice President Atiku in early 2006 on corruption charges and that this alleged Al Qa’ida/OPC link could be one of the reasons given at that time. Damachi continued that Obasanjo had recently conferred with Senator Jubril Aminu, former Ambassador to the U.S., and

Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, former governor of Gongola state (now Adamawa and Taraba states), about taking over from Atiku. Both Aminu and Tukur hail from Adamawa state, as does Atiku; both are political enemies of the Vice President. (Comment. In 1998, Tukur was in contention to be Obasanjo’s running mate, but Atiku successfully outflanked him at the time. End

Comment.)

——-

Comment

——-

5. (C) We believe Damachi is relaying to us what he heard and that he himself also gives credence to these allegations. IBB, Damachi’s political boss, is viewing the PDP nomination as is Atiku. IBB and Atiku are rivals, which means Damachi would be prone to believe and spread information damaging to the Vice President.

6. (C) Without any further corroboration, we view these charges with a dose of skepticism. However, we relay them in the interest of conveying information received about any possible Al Qa’ida presence in Nigeria. There are a few points in this tale that tend to make it suspect. Both Atiku and Tinubu have ample political war-chests; they would not need Al Qa’ida or any other entity to give them 2 million dollars to fund a local group. Second, they can communicate directly with the OPC or other such militant groups throughout the country. Bringing in an exogenous agent like

Al Qa’ida adds little value except the risk of global opprobrium. Also, the linking of Atiku and Tinubu, two of Obasanjo’s biggest political headaches, in such a terrible scheme is almost too neat politically.

7. (C) That this story is making its rounds may ultimately reveal more about the turbid state of Nigerian electoral politics than about Al Qa’ida activities in Nigeria. That such a sensational story is discussed so cavalierly and is accepted as true is an early indication that the 2007

political campaign will be one of no-holds-barred political charges and counter-charges. If this is any indication, this means politicians will be spending significant time finding new ways to destroy old enemies. For example, we have heard that the Governor of Sokoto is accusing the Governor of Zamfara (who is a declared presidential candidate) of spending significant amount of state funds to send “large number of young men” to Saudi Arabia for religious education. 2007 aspirants may try to use the specter of security to sway our thinking and in hopes of prompting us to act in a manner for them and against their opponents. We predict this

will not be the last time we hear charges linking a politician to a terrorist group.

8. (S) We note that when Consulate Lagos temporarily closed in late June 2005 due to a specific Al Qa’ida related threat, some newspapers erroneously attributed the closure to a threat from the OPC that was supported by Governor Tinubu. At that time, Tinubu denied the charge, claiming opponents in the PDP were paying the dirtiest of tricks with the most sensitive of security issues. End Comment

9. (U) This cable has been cleared by Embassy Abuja.
PoliticsRe: SSS And Northern Leaders Deal Exposed? by lonamy: 8:18am On Sep 06, 2011
It is very evident that this country called Nigeria can no longer co-exist. The best thing to do is to yield to Muammar Gaddaffi's proposition to split Nigeria.
There are a lot of foolishness going on. Now that UN itself has become a point of attack in Nigeria, the decision to split the country should come from the world security body.

If terrorism in Nigeria is not curtailed, nobody in the world is safe. Because Nigerians are very rugged and can do anything to survive. If terrorism is the only way for them to makle money to survive their family, they will become terrorist in no time. And Nigeria is a country that can produce terrorists in millions. I really pity our leaders, because they refused to do the right thing, they have been looting the economy and living large, now the head of the snake is well matured to produce the venom that will utterly consume them.

Very soon, especially the northern leaders, suicide bombers will start knocking the doors of their house.

So I appeal to the World Security Governing body (UN) to split Nigeria, before terrorism flows to the southern part of the country, the southern part of Nigeria are smatter and can improvise more devices faster. The Igbo brothers will do anything to make money, we are still battling with the issue of kidnapping. When kidnapping becomes less profittable, they will go for terrorism.

Please, let there be no more Nigeria, this is a country with three countries combined together, everybody is seeking for what they can gain not what they can contribute.
Thank God we have a President that will not say NO. Just propose spilitting the country to him, he will sign it, I trust My President.

You are actually at a cross road. The prophesy is very dicey, in the sense that you actually need to pray for yourself. The prophecy might mean that the girll should leave you that you will die very soon. I don't believe it is the relationship between you and the girl that will kill you. It is you that needs prayer, so that God will destroy any plan of untimely death in your life. Why is is that it is after your NYSC you will die and not now or when you were in school.

da break, you need to be closer to God and try and talk to your spiritual head, if at all you have any.

If you need further advice you can reply to me, I will give you more suggestion.
