But even then, the problem is not the type of ACT used but the standard and the way our people take the medications. For example, Coartem is to be used at the zero hour, then, exactly 8 hours after the first dose, then 24 hours after the first dose and 12 hourly subsequently. And it should be used after a fatty meal or with a cup of milk.
The other problem we have is the storage of our drugs. They should be stored below 30°C but the ambient temperature is higher. The implication is that the drugs most people use have lost a bit of their potency!
