Education / Re: Can I Still Graduate With a First Class? by LordeCalifornia: 12:12am On Sep 08, 2023
Congratulations!

AloyalNigerian:
Hiii!

So, I've been meaning to do this since last year but I just kept putting it off. I'm sorry it took me this long to update everybody who contributed to this thread.

First off, I really appreciate everyone of you for your kind words and encouragement that year. It was just the motivation I needed at that time. I can still remember, clearly in fact, that night while I was in night class when Ymodolus freakied my account grin. I will never forget you and I really hope to see you one day.

I actually graduated with a first class last year (4.56) and the best graduating student of my department. I was really happy. Hold on. Before I graduated, I got a fully funded scholarship for my MS here in Texas and I travelled in January. God, y'all, and my first class helped me to secure that scholarship.

Even before I left the country, I was working in a 'mouthed' agency in Ikeja as an intern using the skills I learnt along the way. Last year was just so surreal for me. Everything happened so fast.

Well, now that I'm here in the states grin, doing my MS and enjoying every bits of it, I will say this: Whatever you find yourself doing, do it very well. First class or no first class, what life rewards is your tenacity, commitment, and attitude towards work. This is my experience, and I can tell you it's valid.

The journey is just starting for me and I intend to maximize this opportunity and put in my best to create the kind of future that I desire.

Thank you very much:

I hope I didn't miss any moniker cheesy

If you graduated at the age of 30 and above, the answer is no

What if I graduated before the age of 30, and then now I am currently over 30 years old, would I still be eligible to serve if I want to?

I just collected my seminar topic which state " plant as an indicator for mining". I have Google it but I seem not to get the concept please anyone with related materials to it should help me. Comment Please
Thanks

Well, I would not speaking in any position of authority, as I am a student myself. However, looking at your topic, I could say a few things.

Firstly, I must say that your topic is an interesting one.
Now, certain species of plants grow in certain locations that are rich in specific mineral resources. For example, Brooks (1979), in his paper, critically studied 85 species of plants that grow in specific areas indicating the presence of minerals like nickel, copper, aluminium, boron, cobalt, gold, selenium, manganese, silver, uranium.

This technology of using plants as mining indicators is a great development for the mining industry, as it helps cut down the high cost of solid mineral exploration.

Please i just realised my problems in math and that why i always find math hard but i have already changed my mindset and i need a very self explanatory math textbook that start from the basic to the big guns

I need a textbook with clear out and easy to understand examples, great number of exercise as am going to do self study without any tutor.

NOTE: I know of the fact that math require consistency and practice but i also know that there would be textbooks that woud be user frendly (especially for someone that dont know any thing in math) and because of studying the textbook diligently one can make ¡A1 in waec and neco.

Thanks as i anticipate your reply.

I would recommend K.A Stroud Engineering mathematics. It covers major topics in O'Level mathematics and it is very easy to understand. With K.A Stroud, you wouldn't need a tutor to guide you. Good luck.

PS: Secondary school students can use K.A Stroud Engineering mathematics also. The book is so easy to understand that anyone can understand it.

Literature review simply means to review published materials that have provided valuable information to the topic of discussion you are working on. You can only write a good literature review after going through a good number of quality research materials.

Some scholars argue that Ceaser did not exactly die of the collective stab wounds, but rather died as a result of the shock, that even Brutus, a man he had trusted with all his heart, partook in the conspiracy, hence giving up immediately after saying those words. smiley

I would be relocating to the North by month end, and I need help in transporting a fridge, a cooker, and a cupboard.

Please if you are a trailer driver, or you know any trailer driver, kindly reply.

Much appreciated!

I didn't get the hard copies of those books though. I had the soft copies, so I resolved to printing just the chapters I needed.

Good suggestion, but such a parachute may not work in a spiralling(as is likely to be) craft about to crash
True, at that point, the craft could tilt to any random direction. The design could be modified, or a completely different solution be provided, but something should at least be done to reduce air travel accident fatalities.

The parts of crafts are made from light metal aluminium has a relatively light density and won't create much damage ...also as the viscosity of the dismembered parts flow through the air the air pressure causes it's density tonfirtyer deduce hence its impact force dwindles four times it's actual density

I have many of such machine designs. If I find their rightht sources I am willing to share many of my designs for free

I see, it is a nice submission then. But it still exposes innocent people to danger, no matter how small smiley

Sensors would be in place so the entire craft dismembers itself once there's an engine failure first the blade then the side doors and then the spring beneath the seat bullet shotos them 20 to 30 feet into the sky and then the wprachute spreads

This ideas were used in American movies in the early 90s . I'm shocked this engineering system hasn't been employed in modern craft. Althought Kobe craft is old sha

I can practically make a prototype of this helicopter design for the right price

Engineering machine design isn't a strange field with me
The entire aircraft dismembers itself? and where would these dismembered parts land? they would end up landing in different locations on the ground killing innocent passersby going about their businesses.

Just assume a helicopter blade disengages mid air and lands in a crowded place, then the heavy engine lands in another crowded place, then the doors land in another crowded place. it would end up causing even more commotion.

This cud work.. Ur input is quite nice and probably one of the best approaches to a solution. That’s why I started the conversation to get the best ideas. I hope those in the industry will start to think more of real and practical safety than fancy bt unsafe choppers. Thx

That's not how it works. The parachute will be caught in the blade. Ecah seat becomes an automatic parachute triggered by sensors. Immediately side doorsflal apart. The seats projects the passengers 20feet up before the parachute spreads it's wings and they can navigate to safety
How would the passengers be projected up without getting hurt by the fast spinning helicopter blades?

So you think a parachute can hold the weight of an helicopter with 8 person on board.

A heavy duty parachute would suffice. It may sound crazy, but with science, almost anything can be achieved. plus, the essence of the parachute is not to suspend the chopper in the air, it is rather to reduce the degree of impact on the ground.

It's only a suggestion though, Those in aviation line could look into it.
After all, hot air ballons could be used to lift really heavy weights.

If there were people on the ground, the craft will still fall and kill people or wudnt it? The blade will still hit the ground either ways.

Bt ur observation it’s worth considering as zero fatality is the goal. I’ve suggested other ways this can be achieved in my other responses on the thread. Thx

If the blade disengages, it goes a different way, killing a different set of people, while the chopper would still eventually crash, killing another set of people. Leaving only the people on board as the survivors. But if the blades stay put to the chopper, a lesser fatality would be meted out on innocent passersby.

Parachuting the entire chopper would suffice, the parachute could be positioned in a way that the rotating blades would not affect the suspending ropes.

Nothing is impossible. I’ve given it a thought. The rotors on malfunction shud be able to disengage and go off then a parachute launched.

Okay, and where does it land after disengaging? if the blade disengages, it would spiral fast to the ground, killing innocent passersby.

This becomes a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, saving the people on board the flight and at the same time subjecting innocent passersby on land to danger.

We should look at how to parachute the entire chopper (with the people inside).

400 level: 3.29 and 4.04 respectively.
Thanks.
I can see you are determined to make a 2.1.

The good news is that it is actually very possible for you to make a 2.1, but you would have to do what you have never done before, you would have to get a GPA you have never gotten before.

basically, a 4.5 in both semesters of 500L would suffice, but you cannot gamble with that, so what you would do is, you would have to aim for a 5.0 in both semesters so that you would be on the safest side.....

dedicate all your time, all your energy, all your focus, all your strenght this 500L to your books, study like your life depends on it, let your relationship go on hold for now.

you would graduate with a 2.1.
