stagger:
Your tithe belongs exclusively to God. Even pastors are expected to pay 10% of their increase as tithe. They were Christians first before they became pastors. Tithe is to be used for work in church, not for pastor to go shopping or buying fuel. I know one who used to use tithe money to fuel his car and he is presently living under a very heavy curse.

There is a place for also giving to the poor, as well as to parents, to societal causes, etc. It is not compulsory to give physical cash to the poor. In fact, if you pay for a skills training to take a poor person off the streets, you have not only given to that poor person but you have improved the lives of at least two or three dependants of that poor person. If you buy a garri grating machine for the poor women in your village to grate cassava, you have given to the poor in huge measure.

Don't let anyone deceive you by saying your tithe should be given to the poor. You can give to the poor in many measures. So instead of just dropping money in a poor person's plate and leaving him or her in that condition still, you should make it a duty to take that person off the streets. Adopt an orphan. Put a child to school. Pay for a skills acquisition training for someone. That is the best kind of giving you can give to a poor person as you will transform them for a lifetime.
my brother Abeg how you take see the curse? stop living in a fools world they all spend our tithe without a single hair dropping from their head to their shoulder.

Deuteronomy 14:22. "You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.
23. And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
24. But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you,
25. then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses.
26. And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.
27. You shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28. "At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates.
29. And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
I wish you can discuss this portion of the Bible and explain in depth for our lazy Christians to read and understand make it a topic and we pray it hits front page. Try and read between the lines, the person you quoted was actually mocking you! You know what sarcasm means? I went to RCCG last sunday for a friends child dedication and all the pastor (and later his wife) were preaching and emphasizing on were tithe and collections, it was so bad! I've stopped paying tithe to all these Lagos/Ibadan Exp Way church conglomerates! All they do is buy jets, build universities for the rich, lavish money on themselves and children while the suffering masses keeps contributing their widows might!!! That is wickedness and evil. Our society will be a much better place if we all stop giving 10% of our income to people that are already in the Forbes list of billionaires and rather give such money to the less priviledged ones in our midst. God will appreciate it more! These god of men are really feeding fat on the gullibility & low IQ of Nigerians!!! SMH.
my brother your head they house jare. its because Christians are lazy if they study the Bible well. they'd know that paying tithe to church isn't even biblical

SO many NIGERIA christians are with these mindset of going to church with any amount of cash in their their hands..to use for offering....AS a worker or as an employed human, that receives monthly salaries,, And as a true and a non hypocritical christian, you should be able to put nothing below 1,000 naira every sunday in the offering box. "You cannot spend thousands on drinks, food and recharge cards, including dstv and go tv subscriptions, etc.. without setting outside nothing less than Four thousand naira for the four sundays in a month, just to use as an offering, "note" "this is excluding "tithe" "Putting 100 naira, 500 naira, 50 naira in an offering box shows disrespect and disregard for GOD almighty, for he deserv much more than that.....WE dont have to be christians by mouth making, we need to show it too with our money....i hope you all change for the glory of GOD.
please tell me what God needs the money for? instead of you to day your pastor you are saying God. I have never heard that God came down to collect money o. criminals

Christianity EtcRe: Are Christians The Only People Who Will Go To Heaven? by Lordkratus(m): 3:26pm On Jun 04, 2017
I am a christian born and devoted Anglican but when I see my Christian brothers reason I weep. the answer to your question op is quite simple a man that lives a life of love and kindness will make heaven irrespective of His religion and believe.I say this out of two level of understanding. understanding from the bible: I believe the Christians championing the saying that if you don't know Christ you won't make heaven read their Bible properly and remember the story of enoch. He is amongst the early men and one of the few that didnt experience death he lived very long ago before the coming of Christ and he was taken directly to heaven not because he loved Christ so much and followed all his instructions but because he lived a life of love and kindness. you can go read your bible to confirm.that is just one example as given in the bible I would love to state others but want to try to keep this short and elaborate as possible. now that of logic: we are roughly over 7 billion people currently on planet earth and in that figure we have well over 2 billion Christiana now in the Christian we have countless doctrine that most believe the other is practising the wrong form of Christianity as said by the Jehovah's withness and others now in those numbers that are in quote are practising the true Christian life the number of over 2billion has drastically reduced and knowing the laws of making heaven which if we are to follow strictly more than 99% are not practising correctly if you check the numbers you will find out that only less than a million people would actually make heaven judging by what we see in the society where even our pastors are worse that sinners it only means two things either there is no God and no heaven or the God what we have is a wicked and irrational God that does things to satisfy his ego because we Christians say he is the all knowing God that he knows us before as were born as stated in the bible so why will he create over 7 billion people and kill them all when he knew before creating them that they will be good for nothing sinners that he will end up destroying? do you see the logic its not just possible and i personally don't want to be in heaven with that type of a God and please don't quote to me the road to heaven is narrow or many are called because you saying that, following the laws of making heaven strictly don't even fall in that category. I have well over ten ways to prove this but for the sake of readers what I believe is live a good life. be good be kind help people and if it happens that there truly is a God he will judge you by the way you live not the name you choose to practice with because this heaven we are talking about it was told to use by a book called bible no man has actually gone there returned and gave us evidence of where heaven is situated with coordinates or even what it looks like all we hear are crap stories

HOW TO WORSHIP THE NIGERIAN GOD

The Nigerian god is one. It may have many different manifestations, but it is essentially different sides of the same coin. Sometimes, adherents of the different sides may fight and kill each other. But Nigerians essentially follow the Nigerian god.

This article is for all those who want to become better worshipers. If you are a new or prospective convert, God will bless you for choosing the Nigerian god. This is just how you must worship him.

First, you must understand that being a worshiper has nothing to do with character, good works or righteousness. So the fact that you choose to open every meeting with multiple prayers does not mean that you intend to do what is right. The opening prayer is important. Nothing can work without it. If you are gathered to discuss how to inflate contracts, begin with an opening prayer or two. If you are gathered to discuss how to rig elections, begin with a prayer. The Nigerian god appreciates communication.

When you sneak away from your wife to call your girlfriend in the bathroom, and she asks if you will come this weekend, you must say—in addition to “Yes”—“By God’s grace” or “God willing”. It doesn’t matter the language you use. Just add it. The Nigerian god likes to be consulted before you do anything, including a trip to Obudu to see your lover.

When worshipping the Nigerian god, be loud. No, the Nigerian god is not hard of hearing. It is just that he appreciates your loud fervour, like he appreciates loud raucous music. The Nigerian god doesn’t care if you have neighbours and neither should you. When you are worshipping in your house, make sure the neighbours can’t sleep. Use loud speakers even if you are only two in the building. Anyone who complains must be evil. God will judge such a person.

This is how the Nigerian god judges people who are your enemies- evil people who want to spoil your hustle; like your colleagues who don’t want your promotion; like your single old aunties who secretly don’t want you to marry that rich handsome man (who you haven’t met yet); like all your neighbours who are stopping you from getting pregnant: He violently consumes them by fire. He returns all their evil plans back to sender. So when making requests about all your enemies, do not pray that they be forgiven or that they change. Pray that the Nigerian god kills them off with such violent finality that there is nothing left of them.

Attribute everything to the Nigerian god. So, if you diverted funds from public projects and are able to afford that Phantom, when people say you have a nice car, say, “Na God”. If someone asks what the secret of all your wealth is, say, “God has been good to me”. By this you mean the Nigerian god who gave you the uncommon wisdom to re-appropriate public funds.

Consult the Nigerian god when you don’t feel like working. The Nigerian god understands that we live in a harsh climate where it is hard to do any real work. So, if you have no clue how to be in charge and things start collapsing, ask people to pray to God and ask for his intervention.

The Nigerian god loves elections and politics. When you have bribed people to get the Party nomination, used thugs to steal and stuff ballot boxes, intimidated people into either sitting at home or voting for you, lied about everything from your assets to your age, and you eventually, (through God’s grace), win the elections, you must begin by declaring that your success is the wish of God and that the other candidate should accept this will of God. It is not your fault whom the Nigerian god chooses to reward with political success. How can mere mortals complain?

The Nigerian god does not tolerate disrespect. If someone insults your religion, you must look for anyone like them and kill them. Doesn’t matter what you use—sticks, machetes, grenade launchers, IED’s, AK47’s. If the person who insults your religion is online and you can't locate them, feel free to threaten to kill them. Like we say in Nigeria: "at all-at all na im bad pass". Something is better than nothing at all.

The Nigerian god performs signs and wonders. He does everything from cure HIV to High BP. And the Nigerian god is creative: he can teach a person who was born blind the difference between blue and green when the man of god asks, and he can teach a person born deaf instant English. As a worshipper you must let him deliver you because every case of sickness is caused by evil demons and not infections. Every case of barrenness is caused by witches and has no scientific explanation. So instead of hospital, visit agents of the Nigerian god. But the Nigerian god does not cure corruption. Do not attempt to mock him.

If you worship the Nigerian god, you are under no obligation to be nice or kind to people who are not worshippers. They deserve no courtesy.

The Nigerian god is also online. As a worshipper, you are not obliged to be good or decent on Facebook or Twitter all week except on Friday and Sunday, both of which the Nigerian god marks as holy. So you may forward obscene photos, insult people, forward lewd jokes on all days except the holy days. On those holy days, whichever applies to you, put up statuses saying how much you are crazy about God.
These days, the Nigerian god also permits tweets and Facebook updates like: "Now in Church" or "This guy in front of me needs to stop dozing" when performing acts of worship.

In all, the Nigerian god is very kind and accommodating. He gives glory and riches and private jets. And if you worship him well, he will immensely bless your hustle.

In the mideaval times you said? Well, go back and check your facts again. And, while you're at it, try to remind yourself that Judeo-Christian ethos have always been the pillars and foundations of the Western civilization. And it's not a coincedence that the West has remained in the vanguard of science, education, medicine and technology for centuries.

Fact, Europe lost her scientific glory to the US largely due to her recent tilt to satanism and atheism. And if the US follows that line, South East Asia will take over. The signs are already there. And if the Christian parts of Southern and Western Africa keep upholding the true Christisn values, it would soon be their turn to join the league of progressive nations.

Christianity is the primary reason the Southern Nigeria seems more progressive than the Nothern part. This is also true about South Korea compared to her Nothern counterpart. And though the South Korea is still predominantly Buhdists, yet the timeline of their economic revolution corelates amazingly with that of the inroad of Christianity into their country. And so my point is that this trend has always been a universal phenominon across the various siginificantly Christian nations of the world.
it pains me when I see well educated men think so shallow. my friend why bother go to school and acquire knowledge on how to make the society better you should have read the bible and prayed to God till he gives you electricity or do the road to your village or produce the cloths you wear. i have gone through most comment people fail to see the op say religion not Christianity which is very wide but all I see are Christians championing the debate. it is obvious that you havent travelled and see how developed countries operate you will be ashamed by most of your previous statements as regards this topic. our problem isn't just religion but for the fact that learned men choose to be daft in glaring evidence. I have said my piece we need reorientation for this country to move forward

EducationRe: Why Church Universities Are Expensive by Lordkratus(m):
your write up was going nicely until you started throwing figures. point of correction my friend the 400million wage bill is per annum not per month. let me explain it is well know that the average salary of a private uni lecturer is about 300thousand after combining both academic and non academic staff and those university don't have up to 100 working staff strength because it is government owned universities that have that number of staff in fact let's even give them 120 staffs multiplied by the average salary gives you 36million monthly. multiply that by 12 and you get the right figure of an average yearly salary of a private university. note that the 300thousand is far above the average salary but for the sake of parity I chose that and the staff strength is as high as that. in the year 2012 Uniben one of the biggest university in the country in terms of staff and facility declared annual staff salary for both academic and non academic staff to be at 800 million and this is a school with two campuses and staff strength combined ranging over 300.if you day their month salary is 400 million the implication is they have an average of 800 staff that they pay averagely 500k each or 400 staff that they pay one million each lol, we all know the salary structure of private universities especially church owned besides I have a brother lecturing in convenant uni. I know that monthly wage bill is not only impossible but unimaginable. so if the number of student is actually correct that you stated for the private university covenant then they are making a huge load of cash in profit from it. thanks
