If both Arabs and Jews were living in the land why is a 2 state solution not the feasible path to end the conflict?

I've been going to church myself, though the habit is not catching.

It's Kate you see, almost 90, who likes walking the 500 metres from her house to church but can't walk there alone. So I've offered myself for whenever she wants and it takes us 45 minutes to an hour to very slowly walk there.

The church bores me but I so enjoy her company, and she appears to too.

No, that's not me in the image below.
Kate's in good company though. cool wink

The thing is, I don't go about announcing to everyone about my conviction. However, I don't pretend to be what I am not. I've been severally called upon in meetings to lead in prayers, I'd just politely tell them to appoint another person . As much as possible, I avoid religious conversation...
For our clime, this is the way. Most people here are not open to having their ideas about their religion openly challenged especially when you begin to highlight the illogicalities in the religion no matter how gentle you are.

Youre bent on expounding your narrative without using your cerebral hemispheres.
People kill each other for fickle reasons right back in medieval times. Even in your bible mythology, siblings kill each other for flimsy reasons.
Also homicidal domestic violence has been on for centuries. A little research would have straightened you but you aren't just interested in knowing the truth

I answered the question of the king not mentioning snakes or invisible people, you later went on to say the king's story about his father was a mismatch. I provided answers for that too. You hung on to say I'm casting aspersions on my evidence I've extensively explained that too, I never cast aspersions on the evidence. I neither criticised the story nor the king. I've corrected your wrong interpretation.
What answer did you provide? LoLz.

You slandered the alaaye by saying he twisted the story to put his grandfather in good light, no one forced you to do that.

FxMasterz:
If you're not of the opinion that the story is false, what are we arguing about?

Saying he was trying to paint his grandfather in good light is not slanderous. I never said his efforts were deceptive. Where is the slander? The former king may not offer the general public an explanation as to why he directed Babalola to the evil forest. Hence, while the public holds the opinion till today that the former king did it in sheer wickedness, the current king who's the grandson of the king in question might be setting the records straight in order to redeem the bad image of his grandpa in the story. Whatever you made of what I said about the king is your own personal interpretation.
You are the one arguing. I stated quite clearly that your evidence does not mention snake or invisible people.

LoLz. You brought evidence and are the one casting aspersions on the evidence.

My response regarding what the Alààyè said was to a fellow here who used the disparity between the Alaaye's account of his father and the general account as a point to conclude that the entire story was false. That's the only new twist to the story apart from what is commonly known of the event. It was this new twist that caused the mismatch, and I provided an answer for that. What might have looked like an aspersion was on the Alààyè and not on the story: by saying he repainted his father's image in the story (which isn't a bad thing to do). I never even said his version concerning his grandfather was false, I wasn't there. His version might be true while the general version might be the notion of the people that lived at the time of the event, since the king at the time might likely not give an explanation as to why he directed Babalola to the evil forest.

By criticising the story and saying it's false, citing that mismatch, you cast aspersions on the story.
Dude you said he was trying to paint his grandfather in a good light, that is slanderous anyway you try to paint it.

Quote where I said the story is false.

You don't seem to understand what it means to cast aspersions, do you?

You're the one who cast aspersions on the story saying that there's disparity between what the story said about the King's grandfather and what the circulating story says about the same person. Then, I explained why it was so.

See the meaning of casting aspersions as attached.
You are slandering the alaaye and saying he twisted the tale to put his grandfather in a good light. Meanwhile I have expressed nothing against the article, you offered it as support for RiyadhGoddess' tale which of course they don't match so how is it an aspersion to say the stories don't match?

@bolded
I will reply you by pasting my reply to triplechoice that I asked you to read earlier showing that sometimes the good being done change if the motive is not right.

You see, motive is very important because if a good is used as a means to an end and the end is not realised, people tend to destroy the good. Let me give two examples.

These happened to two of my friends.

1. The laptop charger of a friend got spoilt so it became stressful to charge her laptop because she has to wait for others to finish charging and the light was not stable.
This guy offered (she didn't ask him to) to buy her a charger with the intention that through that she will agree to his advances.
When the guy got rejected again after buying the charger, he angrily collected the charger back and destroyed it to spite her.

2. She was out on the street, it was about to rain. A guy offered to give her a lift but with the intention of getting her number. After driving for some minutes, it starts to rain, one thing lead to another, he asked for her number, she declined, and can you guess what the guy did? He dropped her on the road while it was still raining.

Those guys used the "good" as a means to an end but when the end was not achieved they destroyed the good.
The good actions didn't change, the characters took additional bad actions.

I modified my last comment. I have no problem with the article because I understand what happened.

The oba confirmed that the story was true, then he quickly used the opportunity to redeem his grandpa's image.
I quote the article:

It was said that the Alaaye then had wanted to know who was preaching with the name: Olorun Alaaye. How true was this encounter?

It is a true story.

The reporter doesn't say anything about snake and invisible people and the alaaye's response was to the question the reporter posed. Stop adding details that are not there.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Astonishing Tale Of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola And The Forbidden Bush by LordReed(m): 8:16pm On Oct 14, 2023
FxMasterz:
The Alààyè is aware of the true story. The story by Riyahdgoddess is all over the place. It's the same everywhere. Check the net. It was an allusion to the story which needed no further retelling that the Alààyè said 'It was a true story.' Check out the story online. It's a common story. The investigator and the Alààyè knew what they wete both talking about when the Alààyè said 'the story is true ' He now went ahead to recast the the portion of the story which had to do with his grandfather.
Then post where he recounts the 'true' story instead of casting aspersions on the very evidence you presented. Are we supposed to read the minds of the alaaye and the reporter to know what they thought?

I forgot this earlier,
POC:
You cant give consent over another adults life.

Also,
I am not confusing legal with good.
I only want to point out to you that one of the basis for deciding illegal things is morality.
From the early societies till now.
But by participating in society you give consent to be ruled by the laws of the society which includes that death penalty.

No it is not. The basis for law is an attempt to impose order so that society doesn't descend into chaos. What we find is both morality and law seem to achieve the seem ends in certain matters but that doesn't mean they are the same nor does it mean one is the basis for the other.

You can't compare the complexities of interaction in more modern societies with earlier ones. Traffic laws for instance have nothing to do with morality.

Then why did you bring the article as evidence if you have all these problems with it?

Why are we even discussing this, it is a no brainer that the intention that prompted a giving is as important as what was given.

Let's assume your business is failing, which of these friends would you accept help from (assuming you know their intentions).

1. Sees it as an opportunity he can later use to boast in your face that he was the one that saved you from bankruptcy.
2. Wanted to help because he valued your friendship and doesn't want to see you bankrupt.
How am I supposed to know this before I make a choice? I will read their minds?

Also what I prefer is irrelevant to the question which is does the good being done change because of the doer's motivations?

That shows you only listen to yourself

For the homosexuality,
Use your google.
Homosexuality was decriminalized as recent as 2003 even in part of USA.
It used to be criminal even in America.
I know there are people against the death sentence I was talking about you specifically since it was you who brought up consent in regards to killing and I showed you there is already consent with regards to killing.

Your error is you think something being legal or illegal makes it good or bad. Those 2 concept pairs are not always synonymous.

Very simple.

The king wants to present his grandfather well to the public. So, you expect him to confirm to the public that his grandfather was indeed evil and that he deliberately gave Babalola the forbidden forest? Haba!
Bwahahahahaha! This guy you are piece of work I swear. You know how to twist and turn the very evidence you present so it is saying what it doesn't say. So we should believe you more than the very evidence you presented? LMFAO!
Christianity Etc › Re: The Astonishing Tale Of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola And The Forbidden Bush by LordReed(m): 7:12pm On Oct 14, 2023
FxMasterz:
The investigation was not particularly about the event. You cannot expect the king to provide details of things he was never asked. His allusion to it and the result that followed is proof that it happened. Or why did his idol worshipping grandfather abandon his gods, became a Christian and changed his name to Solomon? He confirmed that his grandfather gave Babalola the forbidden forest and then explained why he did so? Didn't he? You can now take a journey to Efon Alaye and ask him why the forest was called 'Forbidden.'
How you people end up arguing with the very evidence you produce is so hilarious. Now the excuse is it didn't investigate that aspect. Tell me what the reporter was supposed to ask when the alaaye himself recounted the tale without any supernatural shenanigans? The reporter should have asked him what miracle happened? LoLz.

This is not about feeling superior or inferior, it's about making the good an end in itself and not as a means to an end.

Would you rather give money to a hungry beggar on the street because you don't him to go hungry (at least for the moment) or would you rather give because, then you can post it on your page and it will boost your fame and followers?
Of course, either way the beggar will not go hungry but which motive do you think he would prefer it rather be?
The more pertinent question is would the beggar care about why I gave the money? Of course not.

Humans have long been fascinated by perfection and what it might entail but have never had any way of even making it remotely possible. This is why religion promises that perfection after death where no one can come back and report or bring back evidence.
