I promised an introduction yesterday, so here’s it.

My name is Lola, I am a student and a web3 writer. I started writing in 2022 after purchasing a course from one of my mentors. The course was a beginner's intro to writing, practical steps on how to get started, different niches of writing, portfolio building and all.

I got excited about the whole idea of documenting my thoughts and arranging the whole thing together.

During the course, the author advised me to start with blockchain writing as a niche.

This was because of its low barrier to entry, not everyone knows about it and you could easily get clients.

With that you are killing two birds with one stone;

learning about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency and learning the art of writing.

So after that, I joined a content challenge where I have to write about blockchain and cryptocurrency every weekday. Going through that experience was helpful as I was able to learn and research more about my niche.

After the challenge ended, I kept on writing articles.

Although not as frequently as during the writing challenge but I was still doing something.

The next thing on my mind was clients 😅, I mean I could write already, right? and I have a few articles that could serve as a mini portfolio for me now.

Guys, nothing came oo…

I created an upwork account, started sending proposals but nothing came up.

No clients no nothing. 🥲

Moving forward, I got distracted. I was just uninterested in the whole thing. I was looking at other skills and businesses I could learn that would bring me money fast. I ventured into some, but none came with something profitable.

Then, I went back to writing.

Mind you, if you know about blockchain, cryptocurrencies and the Web 3 space in general. You would know that things happen so fast, there’s always something new to learn, a new concept coming out. If you stay away too long, you could get totally confused by the time you get back.

It took a while for me to catch up. After writing 2 to 3 articles, I started job hunting again. This was around September/ October.

Luckily for me, my first offer came at the end of October.

Hey Lizzy, as a starter, you need to put out great contents with backings of SEO in order to get good traffic and conversion. You also need a writer who would provide you with these on daily basis to bring your blog to life, you can hire me if you have the power, I don't charge much. But one thing I'm sure is you can't do all these on your own, especially as you're just starting out, all the best tho
