Boss what of C300 4matic Benz 2015 model, it's a 2.4l in line 4 engine, how's the durability and maintenance of it. Is it a good one to go for whether through toks or neatly naija used

Those engines don’t do to well here in Nigeria, it had a design flaw and our fuel further accelerates its death leading to catastrophic failures ( most times the engine block is seriously affected and a replacement would be needed) and it isn’t cheap also, get a C400 instead

I’m in the market for a reliable SUV with a budget of around ₦5,000,000 and I’m torn between two used models:

🚗 Lexus RX 300 – 2003
🚙 Toyota Highlander – 2004

I’d like to get your opinions based on experience, reliability, running cost, maintenance, parts availability, resale value, comfort, fuel economy, and daily usability as of 2026.

A few specific things I want to know:

1. Reliability & longevity: Which one is more dependable and holds up better over the years?
2. Maintenance & parts: Ease/cost of repairs and availability of parts in Nigeria.
3. Fuel consumption: Which is more efficient in city & highway driving?
4. Comfort & space: Ride quality, interior comfort, cargo space, seating comfort for long trips.
5. Usability in 2026: Considering age, tech, safety, and general practicality today.
6. Any common issues: What common problems should I watch out for on these specific models?

Also, given my ₦5M budget, what other SUVs or crossovers should I consider that would be a good alternative in terms of value, reliability, and usability today?

Some models I’ve thought about but open to suggestions:
• Toyota RAV4
• Honda CR-V
• Nissan X-Trail
• Honda Pilot
• Ford Escape
• Others?

Basically both the rx300 and highlander are great reliable vehicles if a good unit is found
Reliability and Longevity - both have very similar drivetrain the rx300 of the said year uses the 1mz engine while the highlander uses the 3mz, the 3mz engine is more recent and of-course would implement better technologies which would help with fuel economy and all

Maintenance- Honestly, no major difference, they are maintenance friendly, but please maintain them well because big part can be expensive

Fuel consumption- they’re both v6 engines and if you’re coming from a 4 cylinder you’d assume they consume more fuel but really they don’t for their size

Comfort/Space: the Lexus is more refined and has a better interior/ the highlander on the other hand wins on cargo space and some even offering third row options

Usability in 2026- they’re both old vehicles and of-course some things are inevitable such as high mileage, oil consumption ( common for both, but can be managed ) and wear and tear, but really they are both Toyota and can really last for a long time if properly maintained.
Finally between the two, I’d pick the rx300 only due to your budget, if you could increase it a bit I’d go with the highlander

For other vehicle choices to choose from I’d suggest the Honda CRV
- it’s has a very reliable drivetrain
- incase you’re really concerned about fuel economy, it uses a 4plugs engine while still giving you space and ride height you need from an SUV.

I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla Sport. The engine and transmission are in good condition, but whenever I switch on the air conditioner, the car feels heavy, sluggish and make some noise as if it’s climbing a hill. Once the AC is turned off, it drives perfectly.
