IPOB has been so undiplomatic in their use of words and the northern youths spoke without wisdom - and sadly the elders from both divide are not speaking like elders.

its time Nigeria realize that if their is any kind of war again, its going to be the end of west africa and possibly africa as we know it.

this situation has become that of odudu biri na amu - it needs serious caution. elders should stop sitting on the fence and doing the job of elders!


some words of caution for the North - if they make the mistake of braking Nigeria, their situation will be worst than Afghanistan - there will be massive uprising from the various ethnic groups in the North who are already feed up with the oppression by the northern hausa-fulanis. these ethnic groups will no longer be deceived into being used to fight any war ever again.

Osinbajo to okay 2017 budget as Presidency, NASS reach agreement

After three days of stormy deliberations over the belated 2017 budget, the Presidency and the National Assembly have resolved all the grey areas that prevented the President from assenting to the appropriation bill passed into law by the legislature last month.

A top presidency source confirmed to Vanguard Thursday night that the major areas of disagreement had been resolved by the two sides, paving the way for the President to assent to the bill, which is already six month late in coming and holding back major financial transactions of the government.

A bill seeking to establish the South-East Development Commission has scaled second reading in the Senate.

The bill which was co-sponsored by Sam Anyawu and Stella Oduah seeks to accelerate development in the South-East part of the country.

In his remarks, Senate President, Bukola Saraki urged lawmakers from the South-East region to ensure the unity of the country.

“The unity and development of a nation goes beyond a bill,” Saraki said.

“I want us all to see that we owe the responsibility to ensure the unity of this country. We all have that role to play. In doing this as a Senate, we are showing that we are ready to show that we are ready to look at the pros and cons of the issues.

“But I think the issues go beyond just this bill. Distinguished colleagues, as some celebrate for this, we have to do more work. There are people that we are leading and we must go back and play our own role in uniting this country. Having commissions all over the country might not bring the results that we need,” the Senate president said.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in the lower legislative chamber – the House of Representatives – rejected the South-East Development Commission Bill.

Pa balarabe musa says it the way it is always. He is a very straight forward man, he does not care who you are and i admire him for his truthfulness.

We need more voices with power to reason like this. He was spot on in this piece.

It's like something happened and all these old men have gotten up from sleep with a new perspective and cogent reasoning. This is yet another interview from a northern pundit who is speaking with a moreorless fair outlook. The only point of contention is the 10% but that's splitting hairs. Maybe PMB & APC are uniting the country after all. Now that that everyone is frustrated equally there just might be some equity and justice.
