hmm for some reason, I think this will make Henry pull up his socks and show some grit this season!

Well, i don't know of any country that will happily allow thousands of people-mostly unskilled pour into the society claim benefits, and other services meant for the citizens of the country

Racism is not a new thing so people of "good reputatble positions in nigeria" leaving nigeria for a supposedly gold filled street are just greedy or over ambitious!whatever country you are migrating to you should atleast know whats what

the people i know are all working or own businesses, i even know some people that own businesses in nigeria But still work here so going home empty handed is not the issue for them. everyday things like police harrassment, security, water and electricity is a big headache

people mentioned "nigerians earning millions in nigeria" seems the forget the millions wondering on the street looking for something to do. and how do people feel seeing children on the streets/traffic trying to get school fees

all i'm suggesting is that there is a fair amount of hubris and condescension  in your post. It would be understandable if it were from a westerner (the British are particularly good at it), but you need to realize, wether you like it or not, that this was once considered normal, not only in our society, but many others around the world.
Well as a prof he should know about modern day living!

Oguhebe said the kind of discipline he inflicted upon his children was a custom in his native land.
what a bully

Stop name calling folks!

Exu,

It just seems my virtual copy doesn't play as well as the Henry character. Although in real life, especially this season, I'm better than him."
from the article

the game is obviously not a reflection of the present season! so why he would compare his form this season with another player in a game that was made before the season is a bit duhh to me

and to that person that comes in here with a different username- you are a coward and a bit petty actually!

@
It is easy to find all these companies that you are talking of over the internet, but really how many of them are ready to take blacks really for employment. Even if you are highly skilled in itself, a white man will first consider a white man of his own skin before he considers a black man at all. Even if the black man is more skilled the white man. Lets put it straight, there is a lot of discrimination going on out there, if you must be sincere with yourself.
there is no discrimination in nigeria?

£37,000 is not alot of money but for a fresh grad at 21-24 years old it is quite good. I would assume that in America $74,000 for someone fresh out of university with no experience is reasonable. Isn't the typical graduate salary in America $50,000 - $80,000. Please correct me if I am wrong. And I mean fresh graduate, no masters and zero experience. Shell would not pay a fresh grad N6,000,000 in Nigeria except the person has some sort of experience and trust me the 6 milla is salary+ allowances. Two of my friends got offers from Shell this year from the careers in Africa UK and I think the package for new grads is about N4,000,000.
it is a lot of money actually!

He is better than Henry.

Drogba is a much more versatile player than Henry will ever be.

Those who were fortunate enough to watch him when he was at Marseille will know that he was the talisman in, ironically, a Thierry Henry vein.

Now he plays as a target man, the focus of his team's offensive play, fending off defenders, winning headers and scoring goals.

My question is: we've seen Drogba play the Henry role but could Henry do what Drogba now does for Chelsea and Cote d'Ivoire?

p.s.
There's also the question Henry's temparement.  A problem Drogba doesn't seem to have.
wink it's all about now

actually the guy must be an illiterate to compare himself THIS season with a football game that was compiled over a period of time

well if things were properly organised i dont think any team will turn nigeria down at the last minute, and why play angola even

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Gunners 4-5-1 by LoverBwoy(m): 2:06pm On Nov 22, 2006
sil did you copy this from someone's blog?

Finally, 4-5-1 is a formation for scared teams. Scared to concede, scared to lose the ball, scared to get stuck in. We were playing Charlton ffs, Charlton! Are we really afraid that Gilberto and Cesc can't handle the crapness of Kishishev/Faye and the other numpty who is so bad I can't remember his name? If we are then it's an embarassement. We need to ask ourselves a question: are we looking forward to score or are we afraid to concede? For me there is only one answer.
we played charlton a long time ago huh

and 4-5-1 served us well last season esp away in the UCL wink

seeker:
I really don't understand where people get the impression that workers don't pay taxes in Nigeria. It's false.

The truth is workers do pay income tax.

The exposure is lower than most Western countries. I think the maximum personal income tax is 25%.

There are fewer taxes to contend with.

But then again, it is easier to avoid or evade taxes altogether in Nigeria. Come to think of it, that must be why that impression was created in the first place.
I believe as Nigeria is getting better the taxes will have to increase also. People don't really pay tax because they are not getting the service anyway, when light is 24/7 you will have to pay more, water and even road! Or will our revenue from oil continue to pay for everything?

Its more convenient when you know exactly the amount of tax you are paying
In Naija there is : police tax, agbero tax, Nepa- even though you don't get much, water, you cough out hard cash for treatment at hospital,. ,

@Chimaze, your figures don't add up so stop panicking

@ loverbwoy. yes, i noticed that too. the people that actually live there never have time to see the city, except maybe when they have a friend visiting, and even then they're too busy working 20 jobs to show the friend around, so the friend has to kind of tour the city on their own or with a tour guide. funny observations.  cool
i guess tourists appreciate the city more than the residents.
spot on, ive never bothered to tour the place after several years until my cousin came over from New Jersey, thats when i did my research, all the places Ive gone past but never bothered to enter i did for the whole month and its absolutely amazing, i felt like im new to the city   grin.

He told me its the same thing over at his end too, just walk past most places

Now the motivational books will tell all about how smart people don't see failure.
are these things real? motivational books, self development books, inspirational books, success books huh

So a greater percent of ones success lies in the individual's hands of utilizing opportunity.
and the lesser percent is. . . ? luck wink
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by LoverBwoy(m): 3:03pm On Nov 21, 2006
I agree Pires in midfield with Henry in front of him was a great combo and by the way im not saying anything bad about pires if thats what you think of my earlier post.
then, you know pires and henry, viera and co had the experience, they can afford to do the pass pass because they understood each other and were not afraid to take initiative of going alone

I don't need to go on, about this, as he is no longer with us , and i guess thats why Wenger got Rosicky, But Mozart should stop cutting in and be more direct "GET IN THERE SON!!" We lack a player that will drive straight into the D like Rooney, maybe Baptista will eventually be that player , maybe Theo will eventually play down the middle
True, with pires we can afford to go from the wings but now things have to change we need brute force in the middle, and thats where the beast can do something, idont really see theo playing from the middle he'll always drift, he can't play with his back to the goal and even cesc wont be too happy, he is a bit similar to henry, they need to drift to the line so they can use their pace

mukina2, mr akola might be busy or has had enough, with kituan stalking him with a cutlass and the gunners breathing down his neck for his VERY OBJECTIVE comments about the gunners (yea right!)  grin
but for some reason i get the feeling he comes in under several usernames in different sections of the forum just to stir things up like usual  wink

dont you think with Pires, we will still be playing the usual pass pass between the 2 like they're the only one in the team?

Henry seems to be acting more of a mentor than a striker he sees or appears to see himself as the father experienced figure (from interviews in the sport- "Im not superman"wink, creating chances for other players to score instead of positioning himself to score goals
