plappville:So, you agree that the Kuran is rather the culprit, meaning that what ISIS is doing is propelled by the content of the Kuran. Ok, we have heard you, however: 1. What Content of the Kuran do you think gives support to what the ISIS are doing? 2. Between the ISIS and the liberal Muslims, who then is the genuine follower of Islam? |
Presbulg:Ah! What are you pissed off with me for? Are you angry that i created this fora for us to learn? Are you a Muslim? If yes, why not spit your 2 Cent and lets learn from the rational reason propelling your beliefs? True, that is the rational thing to do. Hoodwinking us to sheepishly keep silent and follow your lots and the killings of innocent people is not really too beautiful that is if it is beautiful at all to you. Come on! say your part, live and lets live. don't kill others. Why should your reggae be affecting Other peoples Blues? |
truthislight:https://www.nairaland.com/3227245/breaking-news-terrorist-attack-nice#47600476 I wish to open this discussion with all since not all that would possibly had seen the above post and Thread. So, rom the above, The argument seems a good rational one it seems, but I feel not all will agree with the above argument, especially the Muslims. So, let's here from both sides. Who do you think are the Genuine Muslims, is it the "moderate Muslims" or the ISIS and their co-hot? |

Ken4Christ:Lol. Business man(pastor). Can you show the Bible portion you got the above from? 419 men always make heavy bogus promises like you have just made to attract their victims also. to show you are not such, can you back those claims with the Bible? please do. |
Why are people comfortable using a Bible without the name of Yahweh? I was once reading Psalm 83:18 in a Bible version and it went thus: May people know that you, whose name is The Lord, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. Psalm83:18. I was dumb founded. I was wandering, since that Scripture said "whose name" is ........ And I saw lord, I asked myself, what is happening here? ![]() I mean, how can a text demanding for a name of the GOD be replaced with the word Lord? Then, that was a shocker, but I have seen worst. one certainly wonders, between using the word Lord in that passage and putting the name of Yahweh(or symbol YHWH) as contained in the original version, which will Yahweh be more pleased with? like: May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah You alone are the Most High over all the earth. Smh seriously. |
jcross19:I don't get the question, even, i don't get the sense of the above question in the light of this thread considering the absence of Yahweh's name in his book the Bible. Meanwhile, be of help to me and others by giving Answers to the below questions that was earlier address to you: jcross19: jcross19:So, from the above, you are justifying the reason why the name of those other gods are retained in the Bible while the name of Yahweh, the author of the Bible has been removed in most Bible as being due to the reason that those gods have no English names. My question is thus, 1. Is the word used to replaced the name of Yahweh in most Bibles(lord and God) a name ? 2. Can you state why the words 'God and lord' used in replacing the name of Yahweh in most Bibles cannot be used in like manner for those other gods also like it is done for Yahweh? 3. What is wrong in retaining the name of Yahweh in his own book? 4. If you love your father, would you wish that your literal father's name to die out and go into oblivion ? if no, why should such befall Yahweh's name? Am waiting for your answers. Thank you. |
The name of this God is still contain in the Bible till today, it has not been replaced by a title: So he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of Jehovah, and there I saw women sitting and weeping over the god Tamʹmuz. |
It's like Yahweh has a plan concerning his name: May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. Psalm83:18 ........................................... In the light of Yahweh's interest contain in the above Scripture, how is the removal of Yahweh's name from most Bible enhancing "people to know that his name is Jehovah"? Is the removal of the name of Yahweh from most Bible not rather concealing that name from people? |
The names of this gods has not yet been replaced in any Bible yet with titles: 1Ki 11:5 And Solʹo·mon followed after Ashʹto·reth, the goddess of the Si·doʹni·ans, and Milʹcom, the disgusting god of the Amʹmon·ites. Please, why do you think it is normal to replace the name of Yahweh in the Bible with titles and leave the names of other gods? Does your Bible contain the name of Yahweh like Yahweh wished it should be to let men know all he had done? |
The name of a Babylonian God is still retained in all Bible till date while the name of that of the Author of the Bible has been removed in all Bibles: Declare it among the nations and proclaim it. Raise a signal and proclaim it. Do not hide anything! Say, ‘Babylon has been captured. Bel has been put to shame. Merʹo·dach has become terrified. Her images have been put to shame. Her disgusting idols have become terrified.’ Jeremiah 50:2 ........................................................ Please, tell us, why are you comfortable with having the name of these other gods in your Bible while the name of Yahweh or it's symbol has been removed. lets discuss, what are your reasons for using a Bible not having the name of Yahweh? |
milkymesh:Am focusing on what I consider to be an abnormality. Why the name of an Author should be removed from his book and the majority of persons are at home with such. Majority of the Bible used by people today in the world, has the name of Yahweh in whatever form replaced with titles, while it is considered normal not to replace the names of other gods mentioned in the same Bible with titles. And why are people so much at home with this inconsistencies. |
jcross19:Am talking to those that are influence by the Bible and those that have chosen to serve the GOD of the Jews. If you are such, you would notice that the Jews have a name for their God just like those other nations you never questioned the name of their God. Secondly, the discussion is a Bible based discussion. Thank you though for your interest. |
jcross19: jcross19:So, from the above, you are justifying the reason why the name of those other gods are retained in the Bible while the name of Yahweh, the author of the Bible has been removed in most Bible as being due to the reason that those gods have no English names. There are several other instances that the name of this god was mentioned in the Bible, but, they did not replaced it with a title like is done to the name of Yahweh: The Phi·lisʹtine lords gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Daʹgon their god and to celebrate, for they were saying: “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand!”. Judge 16:23 and When the men of Ashʹdod saw what was happening, they said: “Do not let the Ark of the God of Israel remain with us, for his hand has dealt harshly with us and our god Daʹgon. 1Samuel 5:7 |
Jozzy4:True! And the names of other Gods are also retained. I shall post others subsequently. other views are welcome, as to why people are cool with a Bible with the name of it's author missing therin. |
In the Book about Zeus, the name of Zeus is contained therein. In your copy of the Bible, a book belonging to Yahweh, is Yahweh's name contained in it? ![]() |
Referring to your god with a title, in the presence of many gods. Do you think it is a reasonable thing to do ? |
The issue is this, their are many gods and many lords. 2Cor 4:4 For even though there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” The names of the other Gods are consistently retained in their own books, but in the book said to belong to Yahweh, its name is missing. Is it not an Aberration? |
Someone once asked a teenager, the residence of the "chief", the lad ask him, which chief ? it took the addition of the name of the individual for the lad to properly identify which of the numerous chiefs that they have that the stranger was looking for. Though we refer to people with such titles as: Principal, Tutor, VC, Chief, Governor, president. etc. the above vividly demonstrate the significance of assuming that a word designated as a title can be used or can best identify a person. Hence, some Bible completely eliminates the name of Yahweh in whatever form and replaced it with titles. to some, that is the case with the absence of the name of the author of the Bible, they are at ease with the absence of the name of Yahweh in their Bible just because they believe that the titles Lord and God can sufficiently identify the GOD of the Bible. Meanwhile, they have not wondered why cant the names of the other mentioned gods in the bible are not replaced with titles. |
There has never been a debate as to the place and reason why the name of this God Zeus in the Bible has not been replaced with titles. But most people are at home with a Bible without the name of the author of the Bible. And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance of the city, brought bulls and garlandsa to the gates and wanted to offer sacrifices with the crowds. Acts 14:13 |
Lol. If Frosbel keeps refusing the 'virgin birth' of Christ, every other things in the Scriptures bible will not make sense to him. he first need to come to terms with that. Secondly, he has to stick to what the Bible says. that Jesus had a pre-human existence. Those are very pertinent. |
let's talk on this. what have you observed on this issue? |
This issue gave me cause for concern hence I decided to share. There are many Gods mentioned in the Bible, from the old testament to the new testament, since the inception of the writing of the Bible was started up till it completion, the names of this gods have been retained consistently therein. However, I have come to notice a seeming battle for the retention of the Name of a particular God and the reluctance thitherto for the Name to be a part of the Bible. Even the retention of the name of this God in symbol form to be included in the Bible has been refused and contested also by most, even among those that claimed and go by the name Christians. The name has a symbol, and has many variance, some people refer to it as Yahweh, some Jehovah, still some make use of the four consonants YHWH, while it also has the four Hebrew consonants written in Hebrew alphabets. Yahweh is the GOD of the Jews, the Bible was written by Jews. we all know, but, the irony is that, most Bible under circulation today does not have this name in whatever form in its pages, even in symbol format. And, as funny as it seems, the GOD of the Jews is supposed to be the Author of the books that makes up this book called the Bible that is under consideration. While the retention of the names of all this other Gods are not contested in the Bible, in whatever translation you look up, the same is not the case when it comes to that of the name of its so called Author. Hence, majority of the Bibles used on earth today is without the said name. My puzzle is thus: IS THE ABSENCE OF THE NAME OF THE acclaimed AUTHOR OF THE BIBLE IN WHATEVER TRANSMISSION/TRANSLATION NOT AN ABERRATION? I mean, consider the name of the author of a book being removed from his book, would that not be considered an injustice? If the above ^ is true, under what conditions/consideration is the removal of the name of Yahweh from most Bible not an issue meriting your attention and is not an injustice and an ERROR? THE Bible you are using, does it contain the name of Yahweh in any form? If no, are you cool with that? If you are cool with the removal of the name in your translation, what makes you feel OK with such? Tell me, do you think it is a normal or it is an anormally ? let's talk. what do you think? |
Ubenedictus:Are you supposed to be a "Christian" ? If yes, is it then rational to do all that you heard that the Jews and their Jewish religion did ? |
scosco1:Yea, put that into Genesis 2:7 and see the meaning it will give to you. The above aptly illustrates what I have been saying. That a word and its meaning is borrowed decoreted and wished/used to determine biblical doctrines and what the original meaning was/writers had in mind. |
urheme:It is even worst if christians are to do what the bible does not even command them to do, that should be equalling = LAWLESSNESS. |
Anas09:It was a question. We should all individually give ourselves the answers. Some people maynot think it is peudent to let go of their once cherished doctrines that has no direct fondation fron the bible/contradicts it. Most are stuck with it in other to feel belong. Key word, "in contradiction with the bible". |
