Your King James is a copy of a translation that the Catholic and Anglican Church termed a heretical translation and someone was killed for it. It would be double-crossing to tag Tyndale a heretic while giving King James a meritorious pass. Using that line of argument you will notice that the name rubs off on King James too.
Take note: William Tyndale's Bible was a translation of the Bible from Latin, German and great help from John Wycliffe's translation. Where did King James get the ORIGINAL Greek scripture in 1611? No one had the original Greek scripture. What we had were copies of the original. THAT question has to be considered when Bible translators handle the first verse of the Gospel of John. In the New World Translation, the verse is rendered: “In the beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.” (John 1:1) Some other translations render the last part of the verse to convey the thought that the Word was “divine,” or something similar.
