I am still waiting for your answers. Since you know how to run over the Bible and talk about its contradictions, kindly answer all my questions. I will add more here. Please, do not run away. Answer them one by one. If your koran is truly a book from God and brought to Mohammed by angel Jibril (Gabriel), when does it say that the world would end? What prophecies in the koran has achieved notable and accurate fulfilment? Has any archaeologist used the koran to trace relics of past kingdoms in history? Does the koran give historical names of notable people in history that scientists or archaeologists have been able to reconcile? If yes, give us reference please. The Bible that you critic contains detail in history that we find useful and staggering. I will like to see such in the koran for example, do you believe in the hanging garden of Babylon? Do you believe that there was someone called sennacherib in history? What does Jerusalem mean to Islam? Compare Jerusalem and Mecca in Islam. What is the koran, a book of the law, a history book, a book of God, a book of the angel or a book of the prophet? olamkas: |

You should be more concerned about Islamic doctrines than trolling Christians to instigate pandemoniun on Nairaland. Is Islam so boring that you cannot congregate to discuss your faith? You do not win by losing. Let's talk Islam. In what language was the 10 commandments given to Musa written? If it wasn't Arabic, why was the koran then written in Arabic? What is the language of the Angels since angel Jibril spoke Arabic to Mohammed? How logical is it to have a book written in a strange language, recited by adults who cannot understand that language, and yet claim that their faiths are in that book? When was the Koran first translated? In what language were you taught the koran? Are you an Arab? If you believe in Musa(Moses), what was the name that Musa called his God and in what language? What historical trace links you to the God of Musa? If Islam was so pure, why are all Islamic states failing? If the God of Islam is true, why wasn't he able to defeat the God of the Jews? In what way was Musa given the 10 Commandments and in what way did Mohammed receive his message? Why the confusing method of communication? Could it have been different God's? Allah is a title (God), what, then, is the true name of Allah? (Reconcile it with the name Musa called his God and provide evidence) When was the first pronouncement of the word 'Allah'? Before your mysterious visitation of Mohammed by the angel, what god did Mohammed worship? In what book did he find the law of his god? And what is that book called? Why is Mohammed more popular than Musa or Ibrahim? Why is Mohammed's book given superior consideration than Musa' book? Why is sex and virginity the highest reward to Muslim heroes? If you believe in Isa(Jesus) as a messenger as your koran says, where are the messages that he preached written? If God could send Jibril to write a book, why then did he send so many messengers? If your god is the truth, why do you face the east? Does he live in the Sun? If you worship the same God as Musa, did he face the east to pray? What relationship does the worship of God have with the moon? Did Musa observe the moon? If Islam is truly the best religion, why isn't Saudi Arabia your holy land taking in Muslim refugees? Why did 3 Islamic states lose to Israel in the 60ies n 70ies? Why have Muslims taken up guns and bombs when your prophet says sword? Why are you socialising with the infidels on this thread, have you come with the motive to cut the neck? Why are Muslims still puppets to the west? olamkas: |

Please, answer these questions: When did Jesus become God, when he was on earth or when he returned to heaven? If it was here on earth why didn't he know the date and hour as he was asked? Mark 13:32 If it was in heaven, then why did he say he and his father were one when he was in his human form? Is God in human form? Did Jesus die for 3 days? When he died, did the father die as well? Who resurrected him? In what form was he resurrected? Why was he called a son? Explain the word 'son' in divine terms. Can you explain the chemistry involved in how Jesus became human? When he was in Mary's womb, who was God for that 9 months and also during his childhoodand teen years? Was Jesus sent to the earth or did he send himself? What is the name that Moses called his God in the Hebrew language? What is the meaning of that name? What is the meaning of the name, Jesus? What is the meaning of God? Differentiate between Mighty and Almighty. I will appreciate your answers to these questions. Ferisidowu: |

Religion / Galileo - What Really Did He Stand For? by lovingJehovah: 7:13pm On Nov 12, 2017 |
Between the 14th and 16th centuries, European scientists and philosophers began to understand the universe in a way that conflicted with the teachings of the Catholic Church. One man who took a fresh look at the heavens was Galileo Galilei. BEFORE Galileo’s time, many people believed that the sun, the planets, and the stars all revolved around the earth. That belief was part of the official dogma of the Catholic Church. With his telescope, however, Galileo saw evidence that contradicted widely accepted scientific teachings. For example, as he watched sunspots appear to shift across the surface of the sun, he discerned that the sun rotates on an axis. Observations like this greatly increased man’s knowledge of the universe, yet they would also result in Galileo’s coming into direct conflict with the Catholic Church. SCIENCE AND RELIGION Galileo publicizing his discoveries Decades earlier, the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus developed a theory that the earth moves around the sun. Galileo studied Copernicus’ work on the movements of celestial bodies and collected evidence in harmony with the theory. Initially, Galileo hesitated to publicize some of his observations, fearing that they would be met with ridicule and scorn. Unable to restrain his enthusiasm for what he saw through his telescope, he eventually went public with his discoveries. Some scientists found his arguments to be provocative, and soon clergymen were discrediting Galileo from their pulpits. In 1616, Cardinal Bellarmine, “a leading theologian of the period,” informed Galileo of a newly issued Catholic decree against Copernicus’ ideas. He strongly urged Galileo to comply with that decree, and for years thereafter Galileo did not argue publicly that the earth moves around the sun. In 1623, Pope Urban VIII, Galileo’s friend, began to reign. So in 1624, Galileo asked the pope to revoke the 1616 decree. Instead, Urban urged Galileo to explain the conflicting theories of Copernicus and Aristotle in a way that favored neither. Galileo then wrote a book entitled Dialogue on the Great World Systems. Although the pope had ordered Galileo to be neutral, the book came across as favoring Copernicus’ conclusions. Soon Galileo’s enemies were claiming that his book ridiculed the pope. Accused of heresy and threatened with torture, Galileo was forced to deny the teachings of Copernicus. In 1633, the Roman Inquisition sentenced him to perpetual house arrest and banned his writings. Galileo died at home in Arcetri, near Florence, on January 8, 1642. Pope John Paul II acknowledged that the Catholic Church had wrongly condemned Galileo For hundreds of years, some of Galileo’s works remained on the index of books that Catholics were not permitted to read. But in 1979, the church reconsidered the action taken by the Roman Inquisition 300 years earlier. Finally, in 1992, Pope John Paul II acknowledged that the Catholic Church had wrongly condemned Galileo. QUICK FACTS Galileo Galilei was born in 1564 in Pisa, Italy, the city famous for its leaning tower. He taught at the University of Padua and later lived and worked in Florence. Although Galileo did not invent the telescope, he greatly improved its magnification and thus its usefulness. Because of his views on the universe, Galileo was twice called before the Inquisition—the Catholic tribunal responsible for the punishment of those who deviated from church doctrine. Did the Inquisition Torture Galileo? Some historians have suggested that the Roman Inquisition may have physically tortured Galileo. The sentence issued against him states that in order to establish Galileo’s real intentions, it was necessary to proceed against him by “rigorous examination.” In inquisitorial jargon this phrase often meant “torture,” possibly meaning at least “the verbal threat of physical torture.” Specialists point out that there were stages and degrees of torture. It could include anything from merely showing the victim the instruments of torment to stripping or binding him or even inflicting physical pain with increasing severity. The nature of Galileo’s “rigorous examination” remains a mystery. |

They know what they are doing. The Bible does not change everyone. They simply desire an altercation with the JW. The other one was bragging how he challenged the JW who took their time to visit him yet his knowledge of the scriptures is very misty. He cannot respond to a single question he was asked yet he sent an avalanche of questions that were answered from the scriptures. What he wants is a social conversation and not a spiritual one that is back with verses from the Bible. How can a real Christian ask someone to give a straight answer without quoting the Bible? It is shocking. I thought spiritual conversations were backed by the Bible. They went too low to insulting and becoming contentious over nothing. John 8:50 Jesus said, "I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it..." They give no heed to the truth, but as 2 Timothy 4:3 rightly puts it, 'For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. achorladey: |
Religion / Was Peter The First Pope? by lovingJehovah: 5:37pm On Nov 12, 2017 |
“Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, S.J., has been elected as Supreme Pontiff, the 265th successor of Peter.”—VATICAN INFORMATION SERVICE, VATICAN CITY, MARCH 13, 2013. “The bishop of Rome has the right of primacy above the universal Church, since he is the successor of Saint Peter, who received such prerogative from Jesus Christ.”—THE PRIMACY OF THE BISHOP OF ROME DURING THE FIRST THREE CENTURIES, 1903, BY VINCENT ERMONI. “If, then, anyone shall say . . . that the Roman Pontiff is not the successor of Blessed Peter in this primacy; let him be anathema [that is, be declared a heretic].”—THE FIRST VATICAN COUNCIL, JULY 18, 1870. TO MILLIONS of Catholics around the world, the 1870 decree of the first Vatican Council is a dogma of the church, a binding teaching. However, the question must be asked, Is it a Scriptural teaching? In addition, is Pope Francis really a successor of the apostle Peter? And was Peter the first pope? “UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH” The 1870 Vatican Council’s decree was based primarily on its interpretation of Matthew 16:16-19 and John 21:15-17. The conversations between Jesus and Peter that we read in these passages as well as other Bible accounts show that the apostle Peter had an important role in the history of early Christianity. In fact, the first time they met, Jesus predicted that Peter would display rocklike qualities in his life. (John 1:42) But did Christ give Peter primacy? At Matthew 16:17, 18, we find Jesus’ words to Peter: “I say to you, you are Peter [whose name means “A Piece of Rock”], and upon this rock I will build my church.”* Was Jesus saying that his “church,” or congregation, would be built upon Peter, a man? Was Peter to be the head of all other followers of Jesus? How did the other apostles present at that conversation understand Jesus’ words? The Gospels reveal that later, on a number of occasions, they argued about who was the greatest among them. (Matthew 20:20-27; Mark 9:33-35; Luke 22:24-26) If Jesus had already given Peter primacy, or superiority, could there have been any question as to who was the greatest among the apostles? How did Peter himself understand Jesus’ words? Growing up an Israelite, Peter would have been familiar with various Hebrew prophecies speaking of a “stone” or a “cornerstone.” (Isaiah 8:13, 14; 28:16; Zechariah 3:9) When he quoted one of them in a letter to his fellow believers, Peter explained that the prophesied “cornerstone” was the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Peter used the Greek term pe’tra (the same word found in Jesus’ statement at Matthew 16:18) for Christ alone.—1 Peter 2:4-8. The apostle Paul was another faithful follower of Jesus. Did Paul believe that Jesus had given Peter primacy? Acknowledging Peter’s position in the early Christian congregation, Paul wrote that Peter was among those “reputed to be pillars.” For Paul, there was more than just one ‘pillar.’ (Galatians 2:9) Moreover, if Peter had been appointed by Jesus as the head of the congregation, how could he simply be reputed, that is to say, supposed or thought by his fellow believers, to be a pillar? When writing regarding certain inconsistencies in the way Peter treated people, Paul respectfully but frankly stated: “I opposed him to his face because he clearly was wrong.” (Galatians 2:11-14) Paul did not think that Christ had built his church, or congregation, upon Peter or any other imperfect man. On the contrary, he believed that the congregation was built on Jesus Christ as the foundation. For Paul, “the rock was the Christ.”—1 Corinthians 3:9-11; 10:4. “YOU ARE PETER . . .” So how are we to understand the words: “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church”? To understand an excerpt correctly, we need to read its context. What were Jesus and Peter speaking about? Jesus had just asked his disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” Without hesitation, Peter answered: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” With that, Jesus commended Peter and then added that he would build his “church,” or congregation, on an even more solid “rock,” the one in whom Peter had just expressed faith—Jesus himself.—Matthew 16:15-18. How are we to understand Jesus’ words: “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church”? Consistent with this, many of the “Church Fathers” wrote that the rock of Matthew 16:18 is Christ. For example, Augustine in the fifth century wrote: “The Lord said: ‘On this rock-mass I will build my Church,’ because Peter had told him: ‘You are the Christ the Son of the living God.’ It is therefore on this rock-mass, that you confessed, that I will build my Church.” Augustine repeatedly stated that “the Rock (Petra) was Christ.” Augustine and others would be considered heretics if judged according to current Catholic doctrine. In fact, according to Swiss theologian Ulrich Luz, the consensus of opinion on this subject among Bible scholars today would have been condemned by the 1870 Vatican Council as heresy. THE POPE—PETER’S SUCCESSOR? The title “pope” was unknown to the apostle Peter. In fact, until the ninth century, many non-Roman bishops applied the title to themselves. Even so, the term was rarely applied as an official title until the late 11th century. Moreover, no early Christian thought that a primacy supposedly given to Peter had been transmitted to any successors. Hence, German scholar Martin Hengel concluded that there is “no demonstrable historical and theological way to arrive at what later became papal ‘primacy.’” In conclusion: Was Peter the first pope? Did he have any successors? Is the Catholic dogma of papal primacy Scripturally valid? The only correct answer to each question is a simple no. Nevertheless, the fact remains that Jesus unquestionably did build his church, his true congregation, upon himself. (Ephesians 2:20) For each one of us, then, the important question is, Have I found that true congregation? All Biblical quotations in this article are from the Catholic New American Bible, the version used in the official Vatican website. The First Vatican Council of 1869-1870 The Evolution of Papal Primacy 32 C.E.: Jesus foretells he will build his church, or congregation, upon himself; no primacy conferred on the apostle Peter 55-64: The apostles Paul and Peter write various letters with the underlying thought that Jesus is the only foundation of the Christian congregation 254-257: Stephen, bishop of Rome, advances the idea that he has primacy over other bishops as the successor of Peter; but other bishops, such as Firmilian of Caesarea and Cyprian of Carthage, reject Stephen’s claim 296-304: First known inscription attesting the use of the title “papa,” or “pope,” with reference to the bishop of Rome 5th century: Another bishop of Rome, Leo I, uses Matthew 16:18 to affirm his primacy over other bishops 6th century: Increasing use of papa (pope) as a title for the Roman bishop; however, non-Roman bishops continue to apply the term to themselves until the ninth century 1075: Gregory VII declares that “pope” is an exclusive title for the bishop of Rome; his Dictatus Papae (Papal Dictates) makes the papacy “appear as a replacement for Christ,” according to one historian 1870: The First Vatican Council decrees that “the Roman pontiff is the successor of Blessed Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and is true Vicar of Christ, and Head of the whole Church” 1 Like 1 Share |

Religion / Ishmaelite- The Patriarch Of Muhammad by lovingJehovah: 3:46am On Nov 12, 2017 |
ISHMAELITE (Ishʹma·el·ite) [Of (Belonging to) Ishmael]. A descendant of Ishmael, the firstborn son of Abraham by Hagar, the Egyptian handmaid of Sarah. (Ge 16:1-4, 11) Ishmael, in turn, married an Egyptian by whom he had 12 sons (Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, Kedemah), the chieftains of the various Ishmaelite clans. (Ge 21:21; 25:13-16) The Ishmaelites, therefore, were at the start one fourth Semitic and three fourths Hamitic, racially speaking. As God had promised, the Ishmaelites grew to become “a great nation” that ‘could not be numbered for multitude.’ (Ge 17:20; 16:10) But instead of settling down (they built few cities), they preferred the nomadic life. Ishmael himself was “a zebra of a man,” that is, a restless wanderer who roamed the Wilderness of Paran and lived by his bow and arrows. His descendants were likewise tent-dwelling Bedouin for the most part, a people who ranged over the Sinai Peninsula from “in front of Egypt,” that is, to the E of Egypt and across northern Arabia as far as Assyria. They were noted for being a fierce, warlike people hard to get along with, even as it was said of their father Ishmael: “His hand will be against everyone, and the hand of everyone will be against him.”—Ge 16:12; 21:20, 21; 25:16, 18. In further describing the Ishmaelites, it is said: “In front of all his brothers he settled down [Heb., na·phalʹ].” (Ge 25:18) Similarly, the Midianites and their allies, it was said, “were plumped [no·phelimʹ, a participle form of na·phalʹ] in the low plain” in Israelite territory until Gideon’s band forcefully routed them. (Jg 7:1, 12) Hence, when the Ishmaelites “settled down” it was evidently with the intent of holding on to the region until forcefully removed. In the course of time it is quite likely that intermarriage between Ishmaelites and descendants of Abraham through Keturah (Ge 25:1-4) occurred, resulting in the inhabitants of sections of Arabia. Since Ishmael and Midian were half brothers, any intermarriage of their respective descendants with the amalgamation of their blood, habits, traits, and occupations could have given rise to an interchangeable usage of the terms “Ishmaelites” and “Midianites,” as is noted in the description of the caravan that sold Joseph into Egyptian slavery. (Ge 37:25-28; 39:1) In the days of Gideon the hordes that invaded Israel were described as both Midianites and Ishmaelites, one of the identifying marks of the latter being their gold nose rings.—Jg 8:24; compare Jg 7:25 and 8:22, 26. The animosity Ishmael had toward Isaac seems to have been handed down to his descendants, even to the extent of hating the God of Isaac, for the psalmist, in enumerating those that are “the very ones intensely hating” Jehovah, includes the Ishmaelites. (Ps 83:1, 2, 5, 6) There were, however, evidently exceptions. Under the organizational arrangement instituted by David, Obil, who is referred to as an Ishmaelite, had supervision over the camels of the king.—1Ch 27:30, 31. Muhammad (c. 570-632 C.E.), the founder of Islam, claimed to be an Ishmaelite descendant of Abraham. |

Thank you for the honor to answer these questions from your perspicacious mind. The Bible made it clear that anything can be a god. Whatever you give your mind and devotion to becomes your god Philippians 3:19. Jesus was a far superior spirit creature before stooping to the low class by becoming a man. If Jesus wanted to be worshipped as a God, he would have had it all. But, no! Jesus said in Matthew 4:10 It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is 'to him alone' you must render sacred service'. you said Jesus is a God and not God.what is the difference? I did not say but the Bible clearly says in 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 "there are 'gods'...yet 'to us' there is one God the Father..." Are you a part of the 'us' mentioned above? Jesus was called mighty God but there is one called "The" ALmighty God. There is always a God placed above Jesus. Colossians 1:15 says that Jesus was created by Jehovah. Jehovah was never created by anyone but he is the sovereign of the universe. 1 Corinthians 11:3 says that God is the head of Jesus. Jesus himself said that Jehovah is greater than him John 14:28 In furtherance, Jesus himself called Jehovah the only true God in John 17:3. It is not my word. You may say Jesus said in the Bible... Moreover, 1 Timothy 2:5 says For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus To muffle the controversy and heresy that abound today, Jesus said the words in John 20:17 ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God. The above was Jesus speaking the words from his own mouth. Will you accept his word above heretics and philosophers? Does he deserve the doubt and questioning for telling us who truly our God is? It does not matter what you have been told for years, what matters is the truth. The truth can only be found in the Bible. Religion / The Bible Survived Attempts To Alter Its Message by lovingJehovah: 7:30pm On Nov 11, 2017 |
THE THREAT: External threats such as decay and opposition have not destroyed the Bible. Yet, some copyists and translators have attempted to alter the Bible’s message. At times, they have tried to make the Bible conform to their doctrines rather than conform their doctrines to the Bible. Consider some examples: Place of worship: Between the fourth and second centuries B.C.E., the writers of the Samaritan Pentateuch inserted after Exodus 20:17 the words “in Aargaareezem. And there you shall build an altar.” The Samaritans thus hoped to make the Scriptures support their construction of a temple on “Aargaareezem,” or Mount Gerizim. Trinity doctrine: Less than 300 years after the Bible was completed, a Trinitarian writer added to 1 John 5:7 the words “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” That statement did not appear in the original text. “From the sixth century onwards,” notes Bible scholar Bruce Metzger, those words were “found more and more frequently in manuscripts of the Old Latin and of the [Latin] Vulgate.” Divine name: Citing a Jewish superstition as their authority, many Bible translators decided to remove the divine name from the Scriptures. They replaced that name with titles such as “God” or “Lord,” expressions applied in the Bible not only to the Creator but also to men, objects of false worship, and even the Devil.—John 10:34, 35; 1 Corinthians 8:5, 6; 2 Corinthians 4:4. * HOW THE BIBLE SURVIVED: First, although some Bible copyists were careless or even deceitful, many others were highly skilled and meticulous. Between the sixth and tenth centuries C.E., the Masoretes copied the Hebrew Scriptures and produced what is known as the Masoretic text. They reportedly counted the words and the letters to verify that no mistakes crept in. Where they suspected errors in the master text they were using, they noted these in the margin. The Masoretes refused to tamper with the Bible text. “Interfering with it purposely,” wrote Professor Moshe Goshen-Gottstein, “would have been for them the worst crime possible.” Second, the sheer volume of manuscripts today actually helps Bible scholars to spot errors. For example, religious leaders taught for centuries that their Latin versions contained the authentic Bible text. Yet, at 1 John 5:7, they had inserted the spurious words referred to earlier in this article. The error even crept into the influential English King James Version! But when other manuscripts were discovered, what did they reveal? Bruce Metzger wrote: “The passage [at 1 John 5:7] is absent from the manuscripts of all ancient versions (Syriac, Coptic, Armenian, Ethiopic, Arabic, Slavonic), except the Latin.” As a result, revised editions of the King James Version and other Bibles have removed the erroneous phrase. Chester Beatty P46, a papyrus manuscript from about 200 C.E. Chester Beatty P46, a papyrus Bible manuscript from about 200 C.E. Do older manuscripts prove that the Bible’s message has been preserved? When the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, scholars could at last compare the Hebrew Masoretic text to what appeared in Bible scrolls that had been written more than a thousand years earlier. A member of the editorial team of the Dead Sea Scrolls concluded that one scroll “provides irrefutable proof that the transmission of the biblical text through a period of more than one thousand years by the hands of Jewish copyists has been extremely faithful and careful.” The Chester Beatty Library in Dublin, Ireland, features a collection of papyri that represents nearly every book of the Christian Greek Scriptures, including manuscripts dating from the second century C.E.—only about 100 years after the Bible was completed. “Although the Papyri supply a wealth of new information on textual detail,” The Anchor Bible Dictionary observes, “they also demonstrate remarkable stability in the transmission history of the biblical text.” “It may be safely said that no other work of antiquity has been so accurately transmitted” THE RESULT: Rather than corrupting the Bible text, the age and multitude of Bible manuscripts have actually improved it. “No other ancient book has anything like such early and plentiful testimony to its text,” wrote Sir Frederic Kenyon about the Christian Greek Scriptures, “and no unbiased scholar would deny that the text that has come down to us is substantially sound.” And regarding the Hebrew Scriptures, scholar William Henry Green stated: “It may be safely said that no other work of antiquity has been so accurately transmitted.” |

I am enthralled by these questions but I will move to your main question in italic below Why wouldn't u pray and ask God directly? Or don't u think he might be jealous each time u mention the name of He whom he sent? For a fact the Bible says that Jehovah is jealous. Exodus 20:5 "You must not bow down to them nor be enticed to serve them, for I, Jehovah your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion..." You can see that he requires EXCLUSIVE devotion. And also, Isaiah 42:8 "I am Jehovah. That is my name; I give my glory to no one else, Nor my praise to graven images". The above clearly established that Jehovah does not play games with his sovereignty. Now, who should we pray to? The Bible asks us to pray to Jehovah directly and not to Jesus. Philippians 4:6 "by prayer..., let your petitions be made known to God..." Jesus himself showed us how to pray in Matthew 6:9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven..." You need to keep in mind who all these prayers are addressed to. In Matthew 6:6 "pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you". Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to our God and Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:17 Whatever it is that you do in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, thanking God the Father through him Hebrews 4:16 Let us, then, approach the throne of undeserved kindness with freeness of speech What, then, is Jesus role in our prayers? Jesus is the propitiatory sacrifice used to redeem us. He is considered as the sacrificial lamb used to cleanse our sinfulness. On that basis, we are considered worthy to approach the subliminal throne of Jehovah in prayer and supplication. 1 Timothy 2:5 calls him a mediator. Therefore, our prayers are made to God in Jesus name. John 16:23 "...if you ask the Father for anything, he will give it to you in my name". John 14:13 "Whatever you ask[b] in my name..."[/b] John 14:6 6 Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me How did the early Christians pray? Colossians 1:3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, Jude 1:25 to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, might, and authority for all past eternity and now and into all eternity. Amen. As Jehovah is a God who demands exclusive devotion, Jesus has instructed us to carry on prayers constantly to him with freeness of speech but in Jesus name. Every one of our prayers should be sealed in Jesus name. Pray to Jehovah from your heart and he will reward you. The yelling and screaming and shouting and all the showy displays of one's spirituality before men are futility. Pray in private to Jehovah, pour out your mind and concerns to him and he will always give ears to the honest-hearted ones. rhemitee: |

Absolutely. I have been saying that from the get-go. You may read it in 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 For even though there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him. The question for you now is, 1 Corinthians 8:6 "there is actually "to us" one God, the Father..." Are you part of the "us" mentioned here? Another word you need to look out for in that verse is 'begotten'. Think about that before rejoicing. Ferisidowu: |

Asking for a 'yes' or 'no' response is not a good way to handle the word of God. One of the reasons is that people would come up with bait questions to clench the Bible's viewpoint in a gorge. Jesus as our exemplary proved a way of reasoning, reference to the written words and illustration to be very effective. You know very well, JW do not dwell on questions in that form but we always try to source the Bible's viewpoint. I have answered these questions before but you seem to be gunning for something and I know the target. Is the "us" there "God"? The Bible never said that the "us" was God. The Bible says that God said, "let us". man himself is a spirit, The Bible never said the above. Neither does James 2:26 corroborate that. The Mighty God Isaiah 9:6 called Jesus mighty God but didn't use the article "The" as above. joshnes: |

Those extra text that you saw in your Bible are spurious. You will never find them in the original Greek text. Those translations were made by heretics defiantly trying to prove the heretic doctrine of the Trinity which does not originate from the scriptures. Well, when you said that God is a mystery then you got it wrong. He said that he has made himself known to you Isaiah 65:1. We humans might be craving for the same taste that Eve craved for when she ate the forbidden fruit. He has given us this much information about himself, this much information we NEED to keep living. Trinity is actually a pagan doctrine and I do not understand it because it is not in the Bible. The defenders of the doctrine always end with the cliché, "God is a mystery" which I unsubscribe to. The people who invented it were not true Christians. They were for a fact pagans seeking a universal platform to accommodate all doctrines. 1 Corinthians 10:21 You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons. There is no way pagan doctrines can find a comfort zone in true Christianity. With wholehearted assertiveness, the Trinity is emphatically pagan. Ferisidowu: |
