Career / Things You Should Say Goodbye To In 2017. by loyaltygame(m): 12:38pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
Things you should say goodbye to in
2017
1. Say goodbye to the voices in your
head that tell you that you are
incapable of doing something or
being someone. They lie a lot, and
you should know that by now.
2. Say goodbye to the need for
validation. We all need validation
from time to time, but you also don’t
have to constantly pursue it. As long
as you see your utmost potential or
how far you’ve come, you don’t need
to seek after anyone to affirm that
for you.
3. Say goodbye to all the moments
you were not so proud of; forget
them and remember that you are a
human being who is still learning
how to live.
4. Say goodbye to the promises you
didn’t keep, know that timing is
everything, and good things take
time.
5. Say goodbye to the self-doubt and
the negativity. It might not be the
happy ending you wanted, but it
could possibly be the happy
beginning you didn’t see coming.
6. Say goodbye to the times you
cried and the times you were in so
much pain, and give yourself a pat
on the back for getting through yet
another obstacle. Sooner or later,
you will get to the finish line.
7. Say goodbye to the people who
don’t want anything to do with you;
they are not meant to be in your life
for one reason or another. Focus on
the ones who do and the ones who
care.
8. Say goodbye to the memory you
keep replaying in your head, whether
good or bad, the one that is keeping
you up at night wondering where it
went and whether or not it will
happen again. You rewinded them
and paused them way too many
times; now it is time to find
something else to watch.
9. Say goodbye to the addiction you
had for your phone, or your laptop,
or social media, or anything you were
voraciously obsessed with. Spend
more time with your family and
friends and possibly nature, and
teach yourself that too much of
anything will eventually suffocate
you.
10. Say goodbye to the expectations
you had for yourself that by now you
should have done this or done that.
Life can be messy, and the last thing
you need is getting attached to its
chaos.
11. Say goodbye to all the words
people told you about yourself, the
ones that made you love yourself a
little less. Think of how little these
people know about you and your
story or why you are the way you
are. Think of how some people like
to belittle others to feel good about
themselves, and while you are it, say
goodbye to these people.
12. Say goodbye to the times you
were immature, or out of line, or had
no common sense. Remember that
these are the moments that remind
you that you are not perfect and that
you are a work in progress. Take it
as a humbling experience and move
on.
13. Say goodbye to the times you
missed someone who didn’t miss you
back. Eventually you will not miss
them anymore, and you will learn
that other people miss you more
than you know.
14. Say goodbye to the trip you
didn’t take, or the City you never
went to, or the wedding you missed,
or the opportunities that passed you
by. Not everything will go as planned
and you don’t have to carry the guilt
with you everywhere you go. Let that
be a reminder that no matter how
hard we try, we will not always be in
control.
15. Say goodbye to the all the flaws
you keep pointing out in the mirror
and the times you really didn’t like
who you were looking at. Buy a new
mirror if you have to, but more
importantly, start liking who you see
and change the way you look at
yourself.
Finally, say goodbye to the thought
that 2018 will be the same and that
nothing will ever change, and start
saying hello to all the wonderful
possibilities, dreams, and
opportunities that are waiting to
manifest themselves to you.

years.

Education / Unilag Shut Down, As Nasu Protest Caused Heavy Traffic. by loyaltygame(m): 11:56am On Dec 05, 2017 |
- The Chairman of the Non-
academic Staff Union of Unilag
Kehinde Ajibade claimed that the
federal government was insensitive
to their plight
Aspiring students who came for
screening and admission at the
University of Lagos (Unilag) were
stranded due to a protest by the
non-academic staff of the institution.
Some of the admission seekers, who
arrived at the university as early as
8am, complained that they were not
attended to.
Kenny Olu, a candidate, said: “When
I came, only a few people were here.
We had formed a queue, hoping that
other candidates would soon come.
Later, we heard that some workers
were on strike and they shut down
the gate of the university. Those of
us inside now find it difficult to go
out. After a while, they opened the
gate and we thought they would
come and attend to us but nobody
came.”
The university authorities had
previously notified all successful
Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination candidates to report at
the Multipurpose Hall A for
screening.
The candidates had been contacted
by the Joint Admission and
Matriculation Board and had printed
their admission letters.
The protesting workers shut down the
gate of the university, thereby
causing a traffic jam on the main
road. This par*lyzed other activities
in the university.
The workers, complaining of being
treated as “unimportant elements”,
said they were protesting the
disparity that arose from the N23bn
earned allowance recently released
by the Federal Government.
Armed with placards, the workers
swore not to resume work unless
they are positively considered.

The Chairman of the Non-Academic
Staff Union of Unilag Kehinde Ajibade
said: “The FG is not sensitive enough
to tackle our problems. How can
government give only two per cent of
N23bn to non-academic staff?
Unilag’s case is the worst. We were
all given N23 million as earned
allowance. We have been robbed and
we totally reject that.
“We are not resuming work until our
money is released. We know what
the FG is trying to do, but it cannot
work out. They want us to clash with
the Academic Staff Union of
Universities and cause a crisis within
the university system. But we don’t
have any issues with ASUU. It is the
FG that we have issues with.
According to the report, the umbrella
of Joint Action Committee has
directed all its branches nationwide
to resume strike on Monday.
The three unions who are embarking
on the industrial action are the
Senior Staff Association of Nigerian
Universities, Non Academic Staff
Union of Universities and Associated
Institutions and National Association
of Academic Technologists. |

Politics / Stop The Blames And Fix The Problems by loyaltygame(m): 8:13am On Dec 28, 2016 |
Where are we heading to in this country?? PGEJ was tagged clueless. Then indomie was #50. Today indomie is over #100. A medium size loaf of bread was #150. Today it's #500. A milk cup of local rice was #30. Today it's #110. An egg was #25. Today it's #50. A cup of beans was #20. Today it's #90. These are all locally produced stable food items. These are not subject to forces of importation, or foreign exchange. Garri has become an item of price control forces. A litre of palm oil is now over #600. A tuber of yam is now over #300. You can not even buy paw paw or pinnaple if you have less than #300 in your 'recessioned' pocket. This government says importation of stable food is the bane of our problems. But did PGEJ ever import garri, palm oil, local Ekpoma rice, bread, paw paw, indomie, yam, egg, beans, plantain, etc? Why so much hunger in the country? Why the 'horse' galloping inflation? Why the season of anomie in the country? Life in bubu's Nigeria has indeed become short, hard, frustrating, & brutish. Power has dropped from over 6000 mega watts to less than 1000 mega watts. Yet PGEJ was clueless And bubu has the magic wand to improve agriculture, improve power in three months, reduce fuel from #87 to #35, reduce dollar to #1, wipe our youth unemployment, improve our economy from the fastest growing in the African continent to the world's fastest growing economy? Change was the slogan. Change Nigeria for the better or Change Nigeria, & Nigerians for doom? No one cared to ask. The Important theory was Change. Today, Nigeria is Changed for doom. No local stable food No jobs No Campaign Promises Kept No Water No Infrastructure No light No Salaries No Rule of law No Security No Truth No Freedom of Speech No Freedom from SSD hook No Good Governance No Truth in Governance No Honest government policies No Government palliatives No Empowerment schemes No Nothing Infact NO GOVERNMENT WITH HUMAN FACE. CLUELESSNESS HAS BEEN PERSONIFIED IN BUBU-ISM. GOODBYE NIGERIA WELCOME HUNGER WELCOME HARDSHIP WELCOME ANOMIE WELCOME A GOVERNMENT OF HERDSMEN. |
