Anyway, funny one there about M Palmer, actually the fault was from me, i was looking at the fixtures on BBC and i mistook the kick off times for both games but nice one on the Palmer and Gunnerblog statements

Besides my saying United will not retain the title, is just my personal conviction, and not a case of just starting off watching the Prem last year (That was another good one )

What you keep forgeting Chacal is the fact that; "We know all what you having been saying", still doesn't change facts!! and the Fact of the matter is, United are not where they expected to be.

SPURS FOR FCUKS SAKE (Spurs are only recognised now because of Arsenal's transition period, which hopefully has ended).

I said it before, footie is about 11 vs 11 on a given day. NAMES ALONE DO NOT WIN MATCHES! Yet, we were all meant to go hiding cause Mancs got Tevez Reasonable folks had wondered what Tevez would do that he hadn't done before

Mancs will bounce back, of that there is no doubt (What is in doubt, is their ability to retain the title And since Jackal doesn't believe either Arsenal or the Pool have a chance (As if we are to believe that THRASH, More like he would have a fit if Le Arse or Pool are title contenders, you see he is biased in this, as he really hates and loathes both teams ) Then i guess, its going to be Chelsea ).

We all know the season has just started, but if the Scum do not start to get things right, they will start to get nervy as other Comps start, and every Gaffer has to start rotating his team.

Scum have a must win game against City, and if that goes wrong, we can start "Ringing the alarms".

The bar has constantly been raised for the past 6 years, and it is no longer easy to take results for granted, Chelsea's constant need to draw games last season (and the FA's need to mess with the fixtures) literally gave the Scummies the Title. Now the Scum are drawing games they would at least normally scale through (granted Pompey has been a difficult nut to crack), Yet all we hear are, statements telling us how beautiful the team played Excuse me , does that not sound like Arsenal of last season Beautiful football!! No end product!! Sort of like De ja vu!! The rate they are going, strenght in depth, will now become a regular place for Chris Eagles in the team

Arsenal are not playing particularly well (some would say, Un-Arsenal like, but we are scrapping results, we will know how far we might go, following our game up North with the Rovers over the weekend.)

Chelsea are just doing what they do best, GETTING THE JOB DONE!!

Pool have the bit between their teeth (As long as Rafa, doesn't Bleep things up with his own hands) Gerrard or no Gerrard, Pool at Anfield, will still be a difficult game for the Russians.

Kolo is from a FRANCHOPHONE country, so that doesn't really hold much water, in terms of the "Kinsman" stuff. I think, that would come in if you had mentioned Gilberto. My feeling is that, if the Arm Band was given to Kolo, he must have decided to relinquish it to Gallas (Gallas being far more matured and experinced than he is)

Thats my opinion. Anyway, who i feel has been really short changed is the Gentle Brazilian (Who will never complain or grumble). Question still remains, when the crunch comes down to it, will players like RVP or Cesc take orders from an Ex Russian player Will Crazy Jens take kindly to Gallas giving him a scolding E.T.C.

3, Berti has proven himself last season as a worth successor to Henry, and he is the Captain of Brazil (Who just won the Copa America), so what has suddenly changed that makes Gallas is far more recognised than him .

4, Berti is in a better position in the park (Midfield) to control both the attackers and defence. Do you think RVP will listen to Gallas (the fact that he is an ex KGB, puts him even deeper in the "He ain't trully one of us" category).

Last season all Media sources predicted a Chelsea treble of Prem titles, look what happened. The season after the "Invincibles" most felt Arsenal would be uncatchable, look what happened. United are defending Champs, so the heat is on them.

Like i said, he could become as bad as Crapista, or could become as brilliant as Bebertov, we have to wait till the End of the season to judge. afterall most folks were pissing in their pants with glee when we signed Rosicky. Has he delivered according to the Hype that surrounded him; NO!!

So let Eduardo have a chance to show if he is good or a "Jeffers". And that can only be seen when the season starts, not before Jackal.

Ok Pop quizz, WHO IS THE "fRANCHISE" PLAYER FOR BARCA, Ronaldinho or Eto'o

Doyin, it is just "Common sense" that every team sports will have one or two star players, but most times, until the Collective lift up their game, the "Star player" only picks up individual awards, that have no overall bearing on the team. Case in point Peyton Manning, pre 2007 Super Bowl win. (where was Gerrad at this years Final )

In football, attention is always focused on the striker, as the aim of football is to "Score Goals" thats why, 9 times out of 10, strikers win the Fifa player awards, Yet Cannavaro, a defender won it last year, because he held the brilliant backline of the Italian team, but Cannavaro wasn't the Italian "Franchise" player, Players like Totti were there, players like the terror of United, Gattuso was there, players like Buffon were in that team, but Fifa picked the Captain, ahead of my choice of Italian "Franchise" player, Matterazzi .

At Arsenal, your "franchise" player would have to be RVP (Yes! ahead of Cesc Fabregas), but RVP would need the rest of his chums to step up to the plate, and i would have you know that players like Fabregas and Gilberto are more valuable in the scheme of things, than the heir apparent of TH14, or to use your statement, "Franchise player".

Manning had always had a reputation in America for "failing to win big games", sort of what Henry was always accused of. Apart from the Colts Super Bowl win over a star studded Chicago Bears, has Manning ever led them to anything else

He joined them from 1998, and until 2007, what did they win most of Manning's feats resulted in personal awards. but it wasn't until every member of the team stepped up his game to meet Manning's standard, did they eventual win Super Bowl.

Besides, British/European Sports are not really like American ones, Yes sometimes you might get "Star Players", but most times, the Europeans focus on team play, you see it in Cricket, you see it in Rugby and you see it in football. Even in the Olympics or World Tourneys, the "Star Stuuded" American NBA team, has been beaten on several occasions, by teams that played for each other, rather than rely on one individual.

Not every player can score goals, (thats why you have strikers), Ronaldo (as a midfielder) had a "Blinder" for United (but you wouldn't necessarily say he was United's "Franchise" player, that my dear pal would have to be Wanye Rooney), but every other player like Vidic, Scholes, Giggs and co, stepped up their game. At the UCL Final, Kaka did not score, but he did his bit for the team (giving the killer pass for Inzaghi), and they won the Comp.

What Arsenal need is for every team player to be on the same wave lenght. Giving their all for the cause. Yes players like RVP can become the stars they are meant to be, But Doyin if we hang on to that, one could say, every team has 1 or 2 "Star players". Benni M at Blackburn, Bebertov at Spurs, Arteta at Everton and so on. So the "Franchise" player stuff doesn't hold much water.
