OP, 90 percent of what you posted there are complete unadulterated lies.
I don't know how you guys do this - you just wake up one morning, get a brain wave and start posting absolute lies all over the place without your conscience pricking you??
What do you intend to gain by ridiculing a young government which is doing averagely well by any Nigerian standard??
That Man,in as much as he has his shortcomings, has been taking some uncommon bold steps for Ebonyi state that will benefit Ebonyi state at the long run.
Go round the state and see there's beginning to be sanity and orderliness.
Bros, the OP said the truth, environmental levies that he imposed on the citizenry is outrageous. Imagine taxing poor traders with 80k tax per annum without considering the value of the goods in the shop. It's not done anywhere.
Secondly, the flyover he is building is just a white elephant project of which has no direct economic impact on the people. Probably he must have seen the ones Peter Obi constructed at Onitsha and the ones Obiano is presently building at Awka. Anambra built theirs because of the volume of traffic on the roads of which affects time and businesses negatively, and most importantly to reduce accidents. How many vehicles ply Abakaliki roads to warrant building of the flyovers at that huge cost? What Ebonyians need is an effective and well structured agricultural master plan that will put food on their table, employ the teeming youths and improve their economic well being.
Though,I must say that Umahi has tried in infrastructure especially in the capital but he must an end to impunity been perpetuated by the touts he employed.

He started well, so did Rochas and others, but can he sustain the tempo? Someone said in Anambra thread yesterday that Obiano is borrowing heavily? Security? How is Anambra more secure that Ebonyi or Enugu states?
I doubt if he will ever reduce his pace of developing Anambra considering the fact that he would want to surpass Obi's giant strides. Secondly,Obiano has increased the IGR from 500-600 million naira monthly to 1.2billion within 1 year in office. And he is targeting 3billion a month. The issue of excessive borrowing is a complete hogwash peddled by fifth columnists. Lastly,it is known nationwide that Anambra now is one of the most secure state. All thanks to operation kpochapu that was launched by him.If u watched Channels television last night,u would have seen criminals/kidnappers been paraded before by the police commissioner. And its almost on weekly basis that security outfits record impressive success in crime eradication.I stay in Abakaliki and the crime rate of Ebonyi can't be compared to that of Anambra.

WE are still discussing matters arising from the emergence of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as we get set for the frenzy of presidential campaigns. The searchlight is more on the APC because it is the new kid on the block. The party is beset with a number of post-natal problems.
Some of its leading lights have almost made a vocation of failing in their bids to take over power from the ruling PDP. Quite apart from the much touted incumbency factors which naturally play in the PDP’s favour, a close examination of why presidential also-rans, such as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Major General Muhammadu Buhari failed in the past will reveal fatal flaws which, if not quickly fixed on this new platform, will still become the major reasons they may fail, yet again. Unfortunately for the party, these are mentality problems which relate to the twin demons of religion and regionalism; problems that their opponent, PDP does not have; has never had.
The major leg of the religious factor assailing the APC is linked to the original calculations behind the mergers that became the APC. It was reasoned that if the North West, with its real or bogus population and number of registered voters combines with the large population and voters of the South West, they can produce a president of Nigeria.

General Muhammadu Buhari
Let us put it in figures for greater clarity. In 2011, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the following figures as the final number of voters by geopolitical zones: South-West: 14,269,163 voters out of official (2006) population of 27,722,432; South East: 7,577,212 out of 16,395,555; South-South: 9,474,427 out of 21,044,081; North West: 19,803,689 out of 35,915,467; North East: 10,949,689 out of 18,984,299 and North Central: 10,684,017 out of 18,968,717.
It is a historical fact that the APC was originally formed by mergers of regional parties of Arewa North and South West, such as the All Nigerian Political Party (ANPP), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) for Arewa North and the Action Congress of Nigeria for South West. The main motivating reason for the birth of APC was to remove power from President Jonathan and give it to back to Arewa. The calculation and permutation was that if Arewa Muslim North-based parties (where the reactionary elements have been clamouring for the North to snatch back political power, which they regard as their birthright) combine their perceived voting strength with that of the South West, they will win the presidency with or without the support of the rest three zones. This is because their numbers, based on the 2011 INEC figures, will come to a voting strength of 44,848,911 compared to the share of other three regions (SE, SS and NC: 27,735,656) where the PDP (and by extension President Goodluck Jonathan) seems to derive virtually unwavering support.
This calculation failed woefully in 2011 because the eventual number of voters came to just about 37 million votes, and the voting pattern did not follow this prediction. Besides, it is not easy to use religion and region as baits to persuade political leaders from Arewa who are big stakeholders in the PDP federal government to transfer their loyalty from their ruling party to a new one that is merely aspiring to take over.
This pattern of merger created a big problem for the APC. Because the North East and North West are Muslim-dominated and the South West is not only made up of about fifty per cent Muslims but also has a leadership that are mostly Muslims, it became difficult to balance the leadership of the party with Christian elements.
This gave PDP supporters room to slam unsavoury tags on the party, such as “supporter of APC”, “Muslim Brotherhood” and what have you. However, the APC received major lifelines with the continued presence of Senator Chris Ngige and Governor Rochas Okorocha from the South East and Edo State’s Governor Adams Oshiomhole. This was buoyed by Rivers State’s Rotimi Amaechi, who decamped from PDP.
It was a lifeline, but it has not cured the fundamental problem. The difficulty that APC’s presidential candidate had in picking his running mate owed to the faulty foundation of the party. Only Muslims have clout among the South West leaders of the party. There is no visible electoral asset from the South West who is a Christian in the APC leadership. Therefore, only a Muslim/Muslim ticket would be strong, but not strong enough to win a presidential election.
Southern partner
The Christians will feel left out, and obviously, the bid is bound to fail – again. But if they gave the VP to Yoruba Christian who cannot get votes it will become Buhari/Pastor Tunde Bakare all over again. And if they take it to the South-South, which has been a major financier through Amaechi, the main southern partner of Arewa in this merger – The South West – will have nothing to show for their sacrifices. It is really a bone in APC’s throat!
Another, more insidious problem the APC presidential candidate is already facing is what I call the circling of hawks. Northern regional hawks, who tried to snatch power from President Jonathan inside the PDP but repeatedly failed, have now moved over to the APC. These include Professor Ango Abdullahi, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, Alhaji Ibrahim Coommassie and Dr. Junaidu Mohammed, among the rest. They have already formed a cabal around Buhari. These are the unabashed “born-to-rule” elements who believe that Nigeria is a colony of Arewa, and it is anathema to them that anyone who is not a privileged, anointed Hausa-Fulani Muslim should lead them. These are the people who have made it clear that the war on the Boko Haram insurgency is a “war against the North”. Coomassie and Abdullahi have already announced that Buhari is a “candidate of the North”.
What will happen if Buhari wins the 2015 election? It is obvious these hawks will move in and resume their old Arewa agenda that caters for the privileged aristocrats while impoverishing the masses. These were the people who pioneered the seizure of mission schools to truncate the educational advantage of the South and Christians, who promote the quota system, convert the federal ministries, parastatals and agencies to honeypots for their kinsmen and women; people who regard the oil wells of the Niger Delta as their booty. These people are actually de-marketing the Buhari candidacy further. But the funny thing is that these hawks are mere opportunists. They have no electoral value for Buhari and the APC, but they are waiting and hoping for the buffet to be ready. Then, they will crowd out the non-Arewa merger partners. After all, they have their power back.
The APC must reform these foundational negatives and balance the leadership and structure of their party if they hope to last the distance in this race. They must tone down sectionalism and tell the hawks to take the back seat or actually jump off the bus. These are issues that can turn voters against even candidates that are otherwise highly rated. The problem with Nigerian politicians is that they carry these heavy loads into political contests and when they lose, they say they have been rigged out.
PoliticsRe: This Is The Buhari Our Elders Failed To Tell Us About by luckyDon1: 3:11pm On Dec 20, 2014
morgist:
The Buhari Nigerians don't know..

I know to the average Nigerian youth out there, the name Buhari falls into the old category of past military dictators but there were things our parents failed to tell us about... We were never aware that the Buhari/Idiagbon regime remains the most corruption free and the best administration Nigeria ever had..

Despite being a military then , no Nigerian leader till date both military and civilian has been able to match his set records.

Antecedence of individuals is very important in human history, therefore General M. Buhari's antecedence speak for itself. Whenever the history of corporate Nigeria is written and will be written, General Mohammadu Buhari's contribution will be written in Gold!!!

Buhari held the following positions in this country:

1. Governor of North-Eastern State of Nigeria (August 1975 – March 1976)
2. Minister For Petroleum and Natural Resources (March 1976- June 1978)
3. Chairman Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (June 1978- July 1978)
4. 7th Head of State of Nigeria (Dec 31,1983- August 27, 1985)
5. Chairman PTF(Mid 1994- July 1999)

The whole truth is that General Mohammadu Buhari is light years way ahead and above his peers just as he is shoulders high above them in height.
General Buhari so far has been the ONLY former Head of State that can wag his tail and walk freely in Nigeria without looking over his shoulders.

[b]Some of his Achievements:

1. -His administration initiated a public campaign against indiscipline known as "War Against Indiscipline (WAI)" when he realized the civilian government he took over from as head of states was HOPELESSLY CORRUPT.
The campaign is still lauded by many to have instilled the most orderly conduct of public and private affairs in Nigeria since its independence in 1960

2 In his time as head of state he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era both civilian and military).

3 He supervised and birthed our only existing refineries (1976-1978)

4 What he did in road construction while in the PTF hasn't been matched by 12yrs of the PDP.

5 The hospitals and universities around the country never witnessed as much benefits they got from the PTF from any government after or before his time.

6. The Buhari regime rebuffed all entreaties by IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira, remove subsidies on services and increase pump price on fuel..

7. The Nigerian Naira was exchanged between 0.724 -0.894 to 1 Us Dollar during Buhari's regime (1983-1985 ). Imagine our Naira was more than the dollars just 26 years ago http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_naira

Despite holding these public offices, check these out:

a. While former leaders came to line their pockets with the national wealth, promote themselves to Generals of fortune and above all name some important streets and edifices and towns in Nigeria after themselves and their wives and children, it was not so with General Buhari, he was driven by patriotic zeal to serve Nigeria, even after being the Head of State for 20 months, he never promoted himself to a four-star general like others who came before or after him. Its also important to note that he did not create the office of First Lady, which others did as a means to steal the national and common wealth.

b. Buhari presently has TWO houses, one owned by his father and one he built with his pension

c. He has NO house or land in Abuja

d. No property or savings abroad

e. He has 2 cars (one belongs to his wife)

f. He has NO oil wells, no petrol station.

g. His asset is worth about 5million

h. Buhari and Nelson Mandela Barack were the only private African individuals invited
to the white house during president Barrack Obama’s Inauguration why?
because they are men of integrity..

i. Above all, he is not associated with corruption of any form or sort.

j. He has about 150 cows (Thanks @kingphemy and @Hadone)

why should Elechi send his people to go and get a court

there is enough security to fight

in 2015 even if Onyebuchi becomes the governor, with
Umuhai completely incharge of
House of Assembly, Onyebuchi

move to another party. Umahi with the support of Anyim and
other heavy weights have
bribed Olisa Metu and Abuja
PDP with 100s of millions
which you will not do, so do
not think they can ever do anything to favor you, they will
not, better move to another
party, in the end the federal
government will regret
allowing Umahi faction to
control everything in Ebonyi PDP. I will also advise Elechi to
be a man, stop allowing anyone
to chase you around like a rat in
a state you lead. What is going
on now will give people an idea
the kind of violence this other faction will bring to the state if
allowed to take over.
I am afraid that PDP may lose Ebonyi if Umahi is given the ticket. They guy is too desperate and has a big corruption/looting tag on him.All the roads built by his construction coy has now spoilt within few years. I pity Ebonyians if Umahi becomes Governor.

Dear OP,the problem is that u guys voted in visionless leaders. The present administration is nothing but a mockery of democracy.Sam Egwu's regime was way better better than this regime. All they know is taking bonds and loans with nothing to show for it.All the Abakaliki township roads are in a mess. There is absolutely nothing like street lights in Abakaliki metropolis at this 21st century and wastes litters all the corners of the town. The governor keeps on showcasing one or two projects that has never been completed for e.g. The Oferekpeke water scheme, international market and Ochudo city projects. These white elephant projects was started at the inception of his administration and up till now, there is no hope of completing them yet billions are sunk into it. Any sign of opposition to the governor is ruthlessly crushed as was seen when the EBHA majority leader was beaten to comma just because he sponsored a the removal of the Speaker who was a stooge to the governor.Old governors really sucks.Only God will save Ebonyi.
