oln: My major problem is that I really don't know the steps to take.I just feel they'l know exactly what steps to take that's why I'm really thinking about using them. When you say apply online do you mean after that you don't need to send a hardcopy?Infact, there are soo many questions to be asked.huh
If u should take time and through the thread,u will learn a lot and won't dare consider using agents at all.NL ia the best agent!

Huzzie: Good morning peeps, i doubt if the CDHC is on strike in nigeria, I ws at my agency ystday, they were about going to pick some medical instructions from VFS though i dont know what month they submtted, i guess this should ease the tension in the house for awaitees.
Is bank reference letter important or an added advantage?
Bank reference is an added advantage...it shows more credence to your statement of acct.If u can lay your hands on it,include it.

dotman: If you're the smoker or the smokee, stay away from it, it would show up in your blood
I wonder why someone can be denied trv just because he or she is a smoker which is not even a disease...Also bearing in mind that the use of canabis is legalised in Canada for medicinal purpose.Besides most oyibos smoke...I think why med tests are conducted are just for communicable diseases.

bumfem: Thank you galala123 for listing me on. You are doing a good job in there. @Kunle-akogun... It is unfortunate that it takes CDHC 6mths to process study visa in Nigeria while same process requires 15days to complete in India despite more than triple volume of applicants from India. It is all about discrimination we are all talking about. Canada brought in 13,500 students from India in 2012 as against 2,400 from Nigeria because of this endless VO processing time.
I pray all your efforts shall be crowned with success IJN.
This is purely discriminatory, humiliating and unacceptable. They are just degrading us.Imagine visa taking 6months to be processed, are they giving us visa to heaven?Rubbish!

Nuendo: Please i have seen this message for about 7weeks now, and its beginning to seem as if it has a deeper meaning.

Visa application, tracking ID No.**************** is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, Lagos. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website.

Pls abeg, is this the general message everyone gets?? or is the 'visa office' vfs global abeg.....huh am gettn more confused by the day.
that's the normal message if your applications is still been processed at the embassy.

galala123: I am worried too especially if after so long we get bad news as in fiz1's case. When we desperately need some good news in the house to keep hope alive and strong, we heard about fiz1's denial!

For the "silent observers", please and please avail us of any info at your disposal or let us know how your application is going. Thanks

I am not too happy when I see stuff like....."I have been a silent observer, I did meds 2 months ago and have just collected my TRV" - If you failed nko? Would you have told ushuh. Some people try and fail but, they keep the whole house informed every step of the way so that others after them may learn and gain from their experience whether they succeed or not.
if they really denied someone trv recently, that means Cic lagos is not on strike.or may be operating in a snail speed. What do u think guys?

Huzzie: Its just the normal msg you get for tracking, if it were to be;
1. your application has been finalized and you need to contact vfs
or
2.Contact vfs for further instruction,
Both means something different, though, i didn't use their exact words.
@all...like how long will it take colleges to give admission.
3 weeks

ticklin: Hi guys, I finally got my trv. Two weeks after I had submitted my tuition fees receipt, and about a month after my medicals, I decided to go to the embassy and inquire about my application hoping it would remind them of my file. I filled the form at the entrance and submitted it with a letter of tuition payment from my university. In about 30mins, my phone rang and a lady asked if I was at the gate. I was then called in and given my documents with the visa. It was just done. na God do am! my start date was may 1st and that was on the 6th so I dash go airport, collect ticket waka that day. I didn't submit any extra extra document except an evaluation of two properties my dad owns. All the rest was what they asked for. I prepared my docs using info from this from and I'm very grateful for all your all, Oga Siga and others too numerous to mention. Any of you guys coming to Montreal, hala at your boy! meanwhile, make I continue to search for apartment to stay grin Good luck to all applicants! God dey!
Congrats bro...

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by luckyDon1: 12:39pm On May 05, 2013
Odinwa: Thanks a lot bro. Now how am I gonna pay the visa fee because I don't have the embassy's account details? Since they said we should pay by bank draft. Does anyone have their account details please?
Enter any of cdhc's designated banks and request for a bank draft form...tell them that u want to do a bank draft in favour of Canadian deputy high commision(19,500)it must be made payable to lagos.

mosquitoway: Just thot to mention this, might of help to others yet to apply,i didnt know this information when i applied to ontario, now i noticed ontario is the most expensive province to live in,it is quite different from other places in terms of cost.Car insurance here is the most expensive in canada and it goes on like that.I would advise applicants to look into alberta, minus lower costs they offer the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, whereby if you work after 1year upon completion of school on a post study work permit you can apply for permanent residence. i think it is worth noting,ok back to applications..lol
Thanks brother for this important piece of advice...Hope you are doing great in Canny...

Huzzie: Like I promised this morning to update the house on the outcome; without saying much, I was denied visa but I am yet to know the reason(s) for denial...Once I get back from my agent's office tomorrow i sure would let the house know the reason(s) for denial. @Earthgreener...I would let you know about my admission decision to UNBC so as to update your list for September. Well i wish you guys the best, though,I aint leaving the thread.
@ Oga Siga et al...Thank you for your support. "Rise and Rise up again until lamb becomes lion" culled from Robin Hood.Cheers kiss
So sad to hear this...Be strong, thats why u are a man.Once u get the reasons for denial, just close the loopholes and refire.Remember every disappointment is a blessing. It is well.
