EducationWAEC: Parents Meet FG Monday, Insist On School Resumption by Luckydubby7(op): 7:34am On Jul 12, 2020
The National Parents Teachers’ Association of Nigeria has said it is confused about the proclamation by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, that schoolchildren nationwide would not be allowed to sit the West African Senior School Certificate Examination slated for August 4 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NAPTAN National President, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma, in an interview with our correspondent on Thursday, said the association had resolved to meet Adamu by Monday to seek an amicable solution.

NAPTAN had in the last week of May called on the government to reopen schools nationwide “to pupils who will be sitting external examinations of the West African Examinations Council and the National Examinations Council.”

The association said parents had resolved to work together with schools to put measures in place such as the provision of face masks, handwashing containers and hand sanitisers to minimise the risks of virus contraction by the pupils.

Reacting to Adamu’s directive that pupils would not be able to sit the WASSCE this year, Danjuma said parents were confused and that they would seek an audience with the government on the matter.

He said, “Surprisingly, we heard from the Federal Ministry of Education that the government has suspended the reopening of schools. This is very confusing; we don’t know what to do. We are waiting for whatever will come after this.

“On our side at NAPTAN, we are planning to go to the ministry and meet with the minister or his representatives to hear from them. It should be on Monday.”

The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, had during the press briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 last Monday announced that the 2020 WASSCE conducted by WAEC would hold between August 4 and September 5.

But Adamu said on Wednesday that all federal schools would remain closed until it was safe to reopen them. He also urged state governments that had announced school resumption plans to rescind such.

PoliticsMalami: I Didn’t Buy ₦300 Million Abuja House For My Son by Luckydubby7(op): 7:08am On Jul 12, 2020
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) on Saturday denied buying a N300 million house for his newly wedded son, Abdulazeez, in Abuja.

Malami, in a statement issued by his media aide, Umar Gwandu, also dismissed as untrue claims in a social media report that COVID-19 guidelines were flouted during Abdulazeez’s wedding fatiha held in Kano yesterday.

He daubed the report mischievous, deceitful, perfidious and “a clear violation of ethical journalism practices on verification of facts and authentication of claims.”

He challenged his accusers to name the vendor of the purported house and its location and to publish the title documents.

“God knows that I did not purchase any house for him in Abuja. Not even a rented house was secured for my son in Abuja, because he has no plan to live in Abuja,” Malami was quoted as saying.

The statement added: “The allegation of hiring private jets for the marriage was preposterous.

“It is common knowledge that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice had neither a father nor mother anywhere in Nigeria to be conveyed to Kano for the wedding.

“Who then is the Attorney-General using the chartered flight to convey? Which jets are chartered? Who paid for the charter? Through which means was the money paid?”

He said the wedding fatiha took place “under strict observance of the protocols and guidelines of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.”

“It is important to note that the wedding fatiha took place in Kano on Saturday 11th July, 2020 in the morning.

“Any other activity before or after the wedding fatiha is not connected with the marriage and we therefore disassociate ourselves from it in its entirety.”

BIGBANG007:
Good day Good People...

I am the most luckiest person in the world at the moment. I made an honest mistake which could have almost cost me everything I have accumulated overtime. I trade fixed time, and I am very good at it, I have prove of success and with my trading equation, nothing can go wrong.

I have always been a fan of Warren Buffett and I strongly operate in accordance to his rule of investment. Going by that, it is extremely wayward and totally reckless for me to trade with over 2500 USD in a single trade, I can't even do that with my virtual account, not to talk of a live account as I do always treat both account with zero tolerance for complacency.

So... Today, I was analyzing the market just as every intraday trader will do, then EUR/USD currency pair caught my attention, so not too long, a very vital position was opened for me. It was a split second decision, then adrenaline set in, so I switched to my virtual account (SO I THOUGHT). I had no idea that I was previously on my virtual account, so that switch process was a switch to my live account. I have the same amount of over 2800 USD in both account so I didn't take much note as I do treat both account with extreme caution.

I intended to trade with 250 USD as my position was solid, not knowing that I added another 0 to the trade amount which sum up the trade to 2500 USD. I quickly entered the position, then my trade amount popped up and I saw 2500 USD. I was furious and mad at my negligence, as that was over 85% of the total amount I have in both account. Then again it hit me that it was even my live account. You all need to see the way I went crazy and almost destroy my work station, I started sweating instantly, I screamed so hard that everyone in my neighborhood thought someone just died in my compound or something.

I instantly couldn't control my breath, I was gasping for air, I was about to collapse as I was never supposed to trade with more than 50 USD in a single trade with my live account due to the cumulative amount I have in that account. I immediately lost my sight as everywhere became blurry, I couldn't move an inch, I lost my sense of existence within split second. I went into trance and I started calling both GOD, JESUS and ALLAH simultaneously.

Good people... as GOD will have it, my position was accurate and my prediction was right, and I made over #880,000 as basic dollar index for my broker was 1 USD is equivalent to 430 NAIRA.

It was a very turbulent experience for me, but thank GOD I didn't learn the hard way...

GOOD PEOPLE, I AM THE BIGGEST BOY IN MY HOOD AT THE MOMENT cool

PoliticsRe: Our Strategy Is To Link Osinbajo To Corruption – PDP Chieftain by Luckydubby7(m):
okefrancis:
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain has said their new strategy is to link Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to corruption.

The chieftain who spoke to this newspaper off the record said Osinbajo had become increasingly popular among All Progressives Congress (APC) personalities for 2023.

“Nigerians generally see Osinbajo has a man who has integrity and are tipping him to succeed his boss who has failed woefully but we won’t allow that to happen.

“We will deploy all strategies available to rubbish him by linking him to multiple corruption cases.

The PDP chieftain said that the party also plans to unearth previous allegations against the VP.

“The more you say someone did something, the more people will believe. He has been linked with NEMA and FIRS in the past, we will resurrect those allegations. This will cast doubt in the minds of Nigerians.
The chieftain said that the party is desperate to return to power in 2023 and will support another northern candidate in the next general elections.

“We don’t care if the northerners rule for another four or eight years, we just want to return to power and we will do the needful.

The chieftain said it is unlikely that the party will support a southerner in 2023.

“We all know that the South does not have the vote power to win a national election without support of the north and if Atiku wants to run it is only right that we support him.

The chieftain said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will also not be spared.

“We know of his media influence and the power he wields but that will not deter us,” he said, adding that, “2023 has already begun for PDP with elections in Edo and Ondo states.

[quote author= post=91531361]Under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, nobody is above scrutiny.
The investigation is to reinforce transparency and accountability, rather than to vitiate it.

“Accountability for our actions or inactions is an inalienable part of democracy.
In such an elevated position as that of EFCC Chairman, the holder of the position must be above suspicion.

“There’s no prejudgment — absolutely none. The Buhari administration can be counted on to uphold fairness and justice at all times.”

This is unprecedented in the history of our nation.
GOD BLESS PMB for all the he is doing to make this country work again.

PoliticsCourt Declines Okorocha’s Request To Stop Probe By EFCC, Imo Panel by Luckydubby7(op): 8:31am On Jul 09, 2020
AN Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday declined Senator Rochas Okorocha’s request for an order restraining the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the state probe panel from investigating him on alleged financial infractions.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed rejected the request after counsel to the former Imo State governor, Oba Maduabuchi, SAN, informed the court that since the defence counsel asked for an adjournment to respond to processes served on them, the court should make an order stopping the parties in the suit from going ahead with the probe, pending the determination of the matter.

Though counsel to the 1st defendant (EFCC) was not in court, the counsel to 2nd to 48th defendants, J.M. Madu, quickly interjected that the probe panel had not commenced sitting.

Promising to inform the Attorney-General of Imo about the development, Madu urged them to respect the court and not to begin sitting until the suit was determined.

Justice Mohammed then held that it would be of no use to grant a restraining order since Madu had undertaken to tell the parties not to go ahead with the probe pending when the matter would be determined.

Besides, the judge held that since the EFCC was not represented in court to hear its side of the story, it would be unfair to grant the request in the interest of justice.

In a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/558/2020 filed on May 28, Okorocha specifically wants the EFCC to end or suspend its investigation, including all the petitions submitted to it by the Imo government until the panel on contract set up by the same state government had concluded its probe on his government between 2011 and 2019.

Other defendants in the suit are the Attorney-General of Imo; members of the Judicial Commission on Lands and Related Matters, members of the panel to investigate the activities of ISOPADEC; members of the panel to investigate the status of the newly established tertiary institutions; members of the investigative committee for financial transactions in Imo State; Committee for the Review of appointments recruitments and related matters from 2015 till date and the committee for the investigation of council areas, among others.

He said the matter was for the originating motion to be heard and that all the defendants had been served with all processes, including the originally motion.

He said: “I am prepared to move the motion. We have the motion (interlocutory injunction motion) dated May 28, restraining the respondents from probing or continue to probe the activities of Imo Government between 2011 and 2019.”

Madu, who represented 2nd to 48th defendants, said he was not ready, pointing out that his clients only briefed him on the matter the previous day.

Madu said: “Upon the review of the originating process and the plaintiff’s motion for injunction, we intend to file our responses to the said originating process and the motion.

“In view of this my lord, and in the interest of fair hearing, we will apply for a short date my lord to file our responses.”

Madu also hinted the court that he had another application pursuant to the directive of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, that all matters be transfered to where the cause of action aroused.

“In the review of the originating motion of the plaintiff, we are humbly applying that this matter be transfered to Owerri Division of this court where the subject matter or cause of action aroused,” he said.

Countering Madu’s position, Maduabuchi said the defendants cannot choose where the matter should be heard, adding: “This is because the basic law as it relates to venue is that a suit can be filed where any of the defendant is resident. The EFCC’s head office is here in Abuja.”

He argued that the same chief judge, who made the circular, which he had not sighted and who had the constitutional power of assigning cases, was the person that assigned the case to the court.

Mr Adamu added that he would rather students miss a school year than lose their lives to COVID-19.

According to Mr Adamu, WAEC cannot dictate when schools will resume.

He urged the examination body to rethink its decision to hold WAEC exams during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the minister has also revealed that the hostels in the Kaduna state polytechnic are to be renovated with the help of an investor for seven hundred and seventy-four million, two-hundred and sixty-four thousand naira (N774,264,000).

He assured that the students of the polytechnic will not suffer any increase in the cost of their accommodation.
