Kellymaria:
Hello everyone, I need to make an enquiry please.

I printed my statement of account from Dec1 2019 to May1 2020 for my Visa application.
My sponsor also hand over her statement of account, same duration to me today.

Someone is telling me I am supposed to print from November.

Please guide me everyone, the CIC page said 4months, can anyone explain to me if I am shooting myself in the leg.
The CIC website asks for 4 months, so December to May is even 5 months so you are good to go.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Luckymama: 11:13pm On Apr 30, 2020
Or could it be that the BVL is an automatic update that’s sent when your file is opened and attended to? BVL without any updates on eligibility or background check seems strange. Especially when it is coming a few days or weeks after submission.

Or the Nairobi guys just want to keep guessing since it appears we are decoding them? Anyhow sha eventually result will come out.

Hi guys,

@vysylva,
I always try to put myself in the position of a VO. The question I would be asking if I were the VO is why would someone spend so much money going to study so as to get a Certificate of Attendance. Doesn’t make much sense. I would have suggested you try and gather some more money for your POF. Or if your wife has a job you may explain that she can take care of the homefront while you are away. Or if you can present a business incorporated that she will be running to take care of herself while you are gone. I don’t know whether these will work o because I am not an expert, just trying to think of what I would do in your shoes.

Besides with the certificate program are you sure it’s up to 1 year? If it’s not up to 1 year you may not get PGWP.
Another advantage the diploma program has is the co-op. That’s very valuable working experience that will eventually help you when it comes time to apply for residence.

It may be better you pause, save a bit more, get a new admission and apply when your POF is solid. Just a suggestion sha.

No mum and dad either.

Please I need help on what to use.

@Frankrobbn1, @Luckymama, @dommakavelli and other gurus in the house
Tough one. Do you have a business? If the business is doing well you can put in the incorporation document. If your job is a good one a leave of absence from your office specifying that you will come back to the company is also good. If you can get any attestations from your village or community that they need you to come back you for whatever (just thinking aloud here). If there are family property or even village property that you can document that you are the caretaker etc. I am sure you get the general idea.

Was it approval after BVL?or no update then medical request and approval.
Even this year someone still updated very recently. He got a BVL and was already consoling himself expecting the denial only for a medical letter to drop. All I am saying is don’t give up. Even if it’s a rejection you just restrategize and refire. There was a time on this thread they used to refer to a rejection as a “delay” because they were certain they were going to reapply and get their visa. And most eventually do. Immigration journey is one of determination.

Why give up? You have already spent the time and effort applying. Why not see it to the end? You should have been on this thread two years ago when people were waiting 10 to 12 months. Some still got an approval.

If you have any suggestion quote this post and i will consider it.

Thank you.
MyBankticket for GTB process is really simple. On your online banking platform, go to download statement. There is the option to send statement to embassy. A list of embassies are there including Canada. When you click Canada you have options to select what type of visa you are applying for and whether you are the Applicant, sponsor or guarantor.
Once you are done they send the ticket to your email that is attached to the account. You can download the ticket and attach to your application. Sometimes the email may delay but on the occasions I have used it- both the Applicant and Sponsor, it eventually dropped.

Ehhhh!! Where did you get this info...pls this is wrong o
Do I need a medical exam to get a visa?
If the duration of your visit is six months or less:

Generally, no medical examination is required.

However, a medical examination is required if you intend to work in an occupation in which the protection of public health is essential. Please see Jobs for which you need a medical examination for more information.

If the duration of your visit is more than six months:

You will need a medical examination if:

you have resided or stayed temporarily for six or more consecutive months in a designated country or territory in the one year immediately preceding the date you sought entry into Canada. This applies even if you are a citizen of a country where you do not require a visa to enter Canada

The question is simply asking if you've stayed in any countries for 6 months..... if you've not travelled or stayed so long in any country, the answer to this question should be "NO"

It will end in praise
Nigeria is one of the designated countries. That question is meant to determine whether you will go for a medical test or not.

Thank you so much I appreciate
The family information form does not have the validate option. And there are certain areas where they say you have to sign e.g if you have no kids there’s a portion of the form where you sign a declaration that you don’t have any kids. I suggest you print only this particular form and sign then scan it back.

Please do. These things go into your record with them. You don’t know when any of your half siblings may need your name to file something. Or even you may need your half siblings for whatever purpose. These people keep very good records. It’s always best to give them the most accurate information we can

pls house is GTBank and Zenithtbank issuing the MYBANKSTATEMENT ticket yet? I have tried requesting online and in the bank but to no avail, the bank officer said they dont know about it. has anyone gotten from GTBank or Zenithbank? pls advise @Mr Frank. Thanks
I used GTB mybankticket for my application. Though I still attached my downloaded SOA (with stamp and signature) also. To avoid stories that touch.

When you request them to send the statement to the embassy, wait a while they will send the ticket to your email.

Good day house,
I’m just about to start my online application and I’m filling the first questionnaire. I intend to call up the provided panel physicians and request for an upfront medical. My question is that in the section where they ask if I’ve done an IRCC medical in the last 12 months, am I to pick no?
Cause my line of thought is that if I do pick no, as I haven’t yet, does that mean I have to do a requested medical now?
I’m just trying to beat time, as little as I can.
Thank you all very much.
If you are in Nigeria, because of COVID they aren’t doing upfront medicals for now. You have to wait till the embassy requests you to go for one.

Hello Guys... quick one.. so i got admitted to Georgian College last year i deferred my admission to this year because of POF as my Aunt i wanted to use as co sponsor changed her mind suddenly (long story). so i decided to raise the money myself and be my sole sponsor as i dont have one rich uncle or aunt like most people.. and my folks aint that buoyant. My tuition for a year is $17,070.07.

From my projection of income from projects (im a software developer) i should have about N9million in 3 months. Will that be enough to use as POF being that School fees for a year @$17,070.07 + one year living expense @$10,000 + $3000 extra to cover flight and anything else comes to $30,070.07 thats about N8,419,619.6.

I am Married with 3 kids i run my own company.. i am not going with my family.. just going alone.
In my opinion I think the question you may have to answer is who takes care of your family while you are away. If you have 9m and the school project takes almost 8.5. Except your wife has a real good job that can foot the bills/

Is the program a 1 year program? If not what about the next year?

Good day ma.

Thanks for all your contributions. I want to start the online process now. Please how many and which forms did you download and fill?
The forms depend on what you filled in your questionnaire. When you fill your questionnaire they will give you your list of documents. Just fill each one by one

I wasn’t able to preview it either. I just carefully read and reread each form before uploading sha. Hmmm I hope this is not the case o.

Good afternoon house,
Please I have an admission for the fall semester in memorial university of Newfoundland. I would appreciate if I could be given a break down of the visa application process. Whether it’s better to apply online or through the paper route? How much is expected to have in your account? Tips on writing the sop/loe? I would really appreciate any information I can get.
Thank you house.
The visa application process for now the only way to apply is online because of COVID.
The process: create your profile at GCKey website. Just google apply online Canadian study permit and follow the link to the GCKey.
2. When you have created the profile, you start a new application. First thing will be a questionnaire. Carefully fill the questionnaire because the forms they will give you to fill depends on the answers you gave on the questionnaire.
3. Download the forms one by one, save in your computer, fill and upload back to the website.
4. Financial - combine all your financial documents into one pdf and submit.
The good thing is you cannot submit the application online until you have uploaded all documents.
5. Submit and pay.
6. Start to pray.
As for the letter of explanation just tweak the statement of purpose you used for your admission. New information you can add include an explanation of how you are funding the studies if it’s not already in your letter of sponsorship. Focus also on explaining how these studies will impact positively on your career - perhaps maybe open you up for managerial positions or give you opportunity for international experience. You have to show them that you have carefully counted the costs for the studies and seen that it is worth it.
Just assume you are a VO - look at your application with the eye of a VO and answer any questions you know you would have asked the applicant or any doubts that would have arisen in your mind.

Thank you @Luckymama. Your advice really worked. You can't believe how you helped me to do.

You know this is my first time of applying this and I'm kinda meticulous not to make a blunder.

I'm done with the form.

But before making the final submission, to ask this questions :

-How to get UCI?

-Do I have to upload the Immm294 in it's PDF form or should I print and then scan it?

-Does barcodes what is it all about?
UCI - if this is your first time applying to Canada for anything then you don’t have a UCI. But if you applied before or you have an express entry then you have a UCI - Unique Client Identifier number. So for now you leave it blank.

Since you are applying online no need to print any document and sign. There’s a validate button at the top and bottom of the forms. Just validate and submit. But for the family form I printed, signed and scanned it again because I didn’t see a validate button there.

Please who can help me out with sample on getting this part done.
First thing to do is to research the faculty. Check them on google. If you can find any of their papers online read as many as you can. From the information you get from them you can now draft your research interests such that it will catch the attention of the supervisor you are targeting.

,e.g during my undergraduate program I studied.......and ........ l wrote my project on ...... and ....... While researching for my project I became intrigued by ......:....... (topic close to the professor you are targeting’s area of research). I therefore decided to pursue a Masters program on.......

Thank you Sis.

I will use. Adobe Acrobat
Even with the adobe acrobat it may not open automatically. What I had to do was download the form first to my computer - that screen page that says if the form does not open automatically that means your computer application is not good enough or something like that- download it and save into a folder. Then go to that folder and click open with acrobat
