The world has gone beyond men just stretching legs and acting Alphalike. God help your future wife too. I guess this is an insight to why you were ´unlucky with love’’ back then. |

Kobojunkiee: It is indeed not a crime as no one deserves to exist in a toxic environment or carry toxic marriage for head.
I cite Osinachi as an example to all women out there in Nigeria land who think to rationalize violence and foolishness in marriage. That woman must have ● prayed and fasted her brains out ● asked every third-party her husband respected, including pastors, to intervene ● persevered for so long under very violent conditions yet all the while submitting ● sung her brains out to God to get Him to come down and fix the relationship ● taken on the role of breadwinner so she could be superwoman in her marriage ● made certain her family was aware of the problem in the marriage ● had in-laws who were aware of the conditions in the marriage, even though they did not care to do anything about it
where is she today? She did not do anything to her man as she was busy being the "good woman" yet where is she today? Wormfood and she was made that by that same man she did all that to keep. Rest! |

VTJN: I disagree based on Nigeria society though
Most irresponsible adults that i know has both parents. I mean those engage in fraud, prostitution and all that. They had both parents living together. A single parents can raise responsible and successful kids while some both parents can't Of course. But that point was about the reality of the contemporary Western society. |

sweetrace: Stop disturbing yourself. You did the right thing. If he had killed you, Nairaland will blame you for accepting the first beating. He is unhappy because he doesn’t have a job doesn’t mean he should beat you. If you continue to beg him, he will really believe that you owe him an apology. Love and respect him, but love and respect yourself and your kids also.
Move forward and encourage him to move forward. Treat him well and stop going over the past. Keyword - Treat him well (or let him go). |

UnfairLife7: LOl
Western countries do not think twice before going for divorce if they aren't happy in their marriage. True. But it hasn’t exactly turned out well for them too. The kids raised by a single parent are more prone to being a societal menace statistically. |

LadyRosa: Must she move in with another man? I only advice if the husband feels disrespected for being reported to the police, he should take his drunk @ss elsewhere!
Nigeria is already a hell hole, adding a useless man to the equation is a death sentence. But she still desires a man’s company obviously. |

Dammyseyon: People just dey talk like retard. How can you say she locked him up because she's doing better? He can never get away with such act in a developed country. He got exactly what he deserved and if true love is involved, he should beg his wife and knack sense back into her. Your husband crossed the line and he should be punished. You did the right thing Good you admitted that. Can you now also advise her to stop suffocating the man with her selfish begging? Afterall, now he's doing the right thing by keeping away from having confrontations with her. |

Samantha124: And the problem with you is that you're emotional.
If you've been following me, you'd know that I'm unbiased and I support what is right.
This has nothing to do with me being a woman, but you wouldn't see that because your emotions have over clouded your level of reasoning. You support her arresting the man, good. At the same time, you want him to be grateful for that, hold hands with her to sing kumbaya, cos that is what happened between you and your sister, So who's been emotionally prejudiced now? |

Samantha124: Well, apparently in Nigeria you guys believe in enduring in unhappy marriages because you don't want to bring shame to your families, which I find to be weird and wayward, if you ask me. This is not my own grouse here. She chose to react however she deemed fit. It's selfish (which isn't unexpected of a typical woman) to try to dictate his own reaction. |

Persephone1: One of my life rule is: You don't get to determine how a person react to your provocations. While you throw the first punch I hope you save the best for the last.
This is what is happening with Op. Husband acted, she reacted, husband is currently acting she's concerned. Things don't work that way.
It baffles me that the ladies supporting the law on this thread are not giving the headway on the real issue which is how does Op get her husband's forgiveness since she still wants the marriage.
Samantha Kobojunkie Here is the bone of contention - why is the Op choosing for the man how he should react to her own reaction to his action? This is my grouse, not the correctness of her action or otherwise. |
