I just did the assessment.

Few tips to help you all

Eliminate all forms of distraction around you... trust me your head would be pounding and any little side talks can throw you off guard cheesy

Have a good lighting source around you, (fuel finish for gen while I was taking my test grin grin grin ).

At the beginning of the test, Have an identity card at hand... as indicated in the mail, you'd be prompted to take a "selfie" and also your means of identification using your webcam.

You have 50 minutes to answer 50 questions.

Best of luck guys. . .

FamilyRe: Can A Married Couple Living Apart Work? by luemz(m): 9:49am On Feb 21, 2022
Like someone stated above, it's just like being married yet living single...

I don't think I'd want that for my spouse and I. If kids are involved, where would they stay? who would they live with?

If it's not circumstances beyond my control for example, being transferred by my job or hers, or career pursuit, I would not want that.

Especially not with how mushy and clingy I could be sometimes tongue

I'm a lazy reader, we all, when I mean we all I mean my *fellow lazy readers* . sometimes we just want the summary and not the details, and when we finally decide to read a book, a novel, inspirational and so on we take weeks going on months to finish.
Over time I decided on my own to develop the art of reading I would take a book that interests me and give myself a deadline to finish. when I started it wasn't successful cause I had other things clustered about that took my time. sometimes I would start and when my favorite show is on I would leave the book and forget about it for days even though I was enjoying it. I discovered a book that taught me how to get things done. it was 3 books the introduction was so igniting and inviting. I felt I could just read them at once. when I saw various referrals on these books I knew I had to read them. But my problem was 'will I finish them' and I did eventually through the help of the first book 'Deep work' these books were;

I decided to start with deep work, and I'm glad I did cause it helped me develop the art of reading, not just reading it helped to know how to share my focus, concentrate, and get maximum achievement in any activity. According to Cal Newport, deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. He explained that deep work will make you better at what you do and provide a sense of true fulfillment. I realized my issue with getting anything done completely without any break or leaving it unfinished was a lack of focus. this book will help you escape the state of bewilderment and help you adopt a state where 'concentration is so intense that there is no attention left to think about anything. I have always had a flair for writing, novel, short story but always moving from one story to another. This book taught how to curb distractions in other to get maximum results.

Having laid the foundation through deep work. Eat the frog only took me 3days to finish which was very on like me. Asides from that the book taught me a lot. Brian Tracy demonstrates how important it is to set clear priorities and handle the task with the highest priority, in addition, she noted that the task that can be postponed are tasks with low priorities. with this book I was able to set my daily to-do-list making sure I write at least 3 pages a day on my novel. if you are struggling with your to-do list make sure to read this.

if you go to a self-development bookshelf you will find this book. After reading to the end, this book is a good start for anyone who wants to start improving in themselves. one way to make significant changes is to develop good, valuable habits. Atomic habits tell us how to build habits starting from the tiniest. I was glad to know that the content in the book is practical and can really be practiced not just teachings.

If you would love to read any of these books. download on Z-library.com.
Z-library is a great resource when it comes to books.

My goal for the year is to read atleast 12 books i.e. 1 book per month.

Atomic Habits is my next read

Sometimes, I wonder if these politicians are out there just to fulfill their childhood dreams and personal ambitions that "I must be president of this country", or they are putting their selves out there because they genuinely want to bring about positive change for this country.
EducationRe: Commonwealth Master's Scholarship Nomination Interview in Abuja. My Experience by luemz(op): 11:07pm On Feb 11, 2022
Out of curiosity, I decided to mail CSC and FSB to know the stage of the selection process.

FSB informed me that they've sent the names of nominated candidates to CSC and that CSC would inform selected candidates in due time.

However, I think it would have been really nice if FSB had informed those that have progressed to the next stage. This anxiety is something else.

I have attached pictures of the response of both CSC and FSB.

I wish myself all the best.

Duolingo won't make you proficient in speaking French. He should learn to converse more with the locals. French isn't difficult to learn at all.
you can't completely rule out the resourcefulness of Duolingo.
No doubt, Learning a new language requires consistent practice. That's where the locals come in. He can learn using the app, and easily practice simultaneously. it's a multidimensional approach

Hello!
Guess you all have fastened your seatbelts for the New Year? We hope for better days ahead.

I was at home yesterday & I got the shock of this festive period when a delivery agent kept dropping off items at my doorpost. Little did I know my backbone (my wife) who never ceases to surprise me had planned to lavish me with Xmas Gifts.
To my amazement, she apologized for late arrival of these items, as she had earlier booked & expected them to arrive during the Xmas period.
Honestly, I appreciate her immensely!.
Although, she's known to be ladened with such traits, but I expected a Seasonal Card in return since it was exactly what I hurriedly gave her earlier because of my tight schedule.

Honestly, she's been so wonderful!
I had to bury my face in shame grin grin grin.
She was able to execute such within a short time. Just want to say a Loud & a Palpable THANK YOU 2 All the Good and Hardworking Ladies out there. Keep it up. Ur efforts will always echo.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Job Interview; Please Help. by luemz(m): 8:17pm On Jan 04, 2022
From my experience attending job interviews, what they ask is mainly just a copy of your CV.
Except it was otherwise stated that you should bring your credentials. It's usually at the documentation stage your certificate may be needed.
My advise, is just go with what you have. If they ask, just tell them certificate from the school is not ready yet and you'd make it available as soon as it is ready.
Best of luck on your interview mate!

Incredible.. I can still remember vividly the first time I traveled to the city of Calabar for Post UTME in UNICAL. Almost every student had a blackberry. My cousin even went as far as buying Bold 1 (the big slightly rectangular one without camera grin grin grin). I also wanted to get one (Bold 4) but I couldn't save enough to get it in time. By the next time I visited, the BB frenzy had fizzled out.
such is life. na why I no de rush or put myself under any pressure to get anything.
Happy New Year.
EducationRe: Commonwealth Master's Scholarship Nomination Interview in Abuja. My Experience by luemz(op): 7:53pm On Dec 28, 2021
luemz:
UPDATE

By God's grace, I was able to attend the interview. I was supposed to interview on the second day (30th November 2021); however, I was already in Abuja by Saturday, so I could hear the opening ceremony and get to have insights about the whole process from those that would be interviewing on the first day.

Accreditation
on the first day, accreditation was held at the Hotel (Nanet Suites or Rosebud Hotel or Ekiti house). On the second day, accreditation took place at the FSB office secretariat before you'd go back to the hotel for the interview. I was not aware of this, so I paid for double transportation. My saving grace was that I left home very early, so I had enough time to spare in knowing what to do.

They had about seven accreditation/interview panels depending on your intended course of study. You'd be given two forms to fill.
They'd check for your important documents as listed in the Announcement.
Transcripts, certificate, NYSC certificate, passport photograph, EAS form print out, evidence of reference submission, admission offer etc.

after confirming your documents, they'd stamp and sign the forms. you're then to make a photocopy of the forms and then proceed for the interview at the hotel.

The interview

When you arrive the interview venue, you'd go to your assigned Panelist. you'd be required to fill the attendance form in order of arrival and geopolitical zone.

when it's your turn, you'd be called into the interview room.
I had 3 persons (A man and two women) in the interview board. they appeared very friendly and helped me calmed my nerves.
it seemed only one was a professor. she was the one that really asked me questions basically about what my research interests was and what I hope to achieve through the study.
the other panelists were focused on checking my documents, proof of community service, publications, admission offers etc.

after questions about my research interests and possible outcome of my study, the other panelists asked me general current affairs questions related to Commonwealth, minister of education, and the COVID 19 pandemic.
lastly, they proceeded to ask me about my employment history and what I currently do.
My interview lasted roughly about 20 minutes.

General Tip Based on my Experience
1. Arrive the Venue Early
arriving early would give you time to settle down and do what what you're required to do gently without much pressure. I had a friend that while I was done with accreditation and was already heading to the interview venue, he was still trying to find the FSB office under pressure.
The earlier you go, the sooner you get to interview (I was the 4th person to interview on my day).
As at 10pm, some persons were yet to be interviewed. you can imagine the mental stress and discouragement as you wait for such long hours.
2. Your Documents
Make sure you go with the required documents and awards, professional certifications, proof of employment, publications, evidence of community service, etc.
Anything you can lay your hands on, just go with it.
all these have their points and could help you stand out amongs others.

3. Know your proposed study thoroughly
For the duration of my interview session, this was literally the only thing we discussed about. so you should know it, what problems you hope to solve with your proposed study.

4. Know basic current affairs
Be familiar with common current affairs related to the commission, commonwealth, ministry of education, etc.

5. Pray
In all, call on God to favour you and grant you success.

Best wishes
