ComputersRe: Opera V9 Is Out. Check It Out by lukkie(op): 8:06am On Jun 29, 2006
HABUMAKS. Opera is free. Point ur phone's browser to http://mini.opera.com & download from there. Install over d old one. If dat dont work, delete d old one & install d new one afresh. Or if ur fone has a data cable, download it onto ur PC from opera.com & install 2 d fone. Opera rocks. IE sucks. Let them make version 70 if they like. Mozilla, well av used it too but Opera is better. Cant start listin its features here. It also has in-built RSS reader. Check d features out on opera.com.

Hi SVS. If u want 2 know d version u're using, go to "Help" in d menu bar & click "About Opera". It'll display it. If it's not version 9, go to opera.com & download it. Of course its free & u wont lose any settings, bookmarks etc of ur old copy. cheers.

ComputersRe: Help Please.what Is The Best Way To Email A Cv? by lukkie(m): 3:53pm On Jun 24, 2006
d preferred option is ms-word. in ur own case, d word file could av been corrupted by ur flash disk or diskette. i'll advise u not 2 attach directly from d flash disk. copy it onto d system's hard disk first, open it to confirm it's not corrupt & then attach. d other option is to copy it directly into d body of an email. this will make u lose d clean word formatting though. good luck.
CrimeRe: To Hack a Cyber-cafe Timer? by lukkie(m): 3:01pm On Jun 24, 2006

CelebritiesRe: Does Genevieve Nnaji Have A University Degree? by lukkie(m): 2:24pm On Jun 24, 2006
You dont have 2 have a degree in order to make it in life. And u'll speak good english if u attend good primary & sec. schools. I greatly admire d lady for what she has made for herself in life. Many of us with our so-called degrees are @ home jobless in this country. So what d heck? Does 50 Cent have a degree? Do u know d million of dollars he's controllin? Siddon there with ur degree o.
CareerRe: "Why I Hate Globacom" by Olabisi by lukkie(m): 7:35pm On Jun 23, 2006
i think people have almost derailed this topic. the original initiator of the argument was not talking about the services of glo as a telco, rather he was talking about the management style of mr. mike adenuga. and the way he treats his staffers, especially expatriates.

am not surprised many people dont understand this cos they's not familiar with the behind-the-scenes happenings in companies. as nigerians, globacom can be whatever we want to be cos "it's our own." its also understandable to defend it against a company such as MTN but if people have got complaints against their boss, plz let them air them. if there are no labor laws in the country to defend them, at least let the court of public opinion do.

i will beg u to try and find some1 working in etb, glo or former devcom and ask him about the chairman. if they wont lie to you, then u'll get the true picture of him from them.

but dont get me wrong, i personally admire some1 like for his shrewdness with business, and like i said above, i use glo and i think its better. but this is an issue between the boss and his employees for god's sake.

ComputersRe: USB Flash Drives In Nigeria by lukkie(m): 7:12am On Jun 23, 2006
av had a very bad experience with flash drives from computer village in lagos. i'd advise any1 2 stay away from those dat go for like N1,200 or N2,000.

u can get genuine ones from reputable shops in lagos and elsewhere and u shld be prepared 2 pay between N5,000 - N10,000 or even more depending on d capacity and brand. the good ones normally have a warranty which u can confirm with the vendor. those cheap drives from china are not worth it.
ComputersOpera V9 Is Out. Check It Out by lukkie(op): 6:08pm On Jun 22, 2006
Hi Forumites. Version 9 of the popular browser, OPERA , was released yesterday. check it out on www.opera.com.
For those of us who are unfamiliar with it. Opera is the fastest HTML browser available till date.

The new version has many cool features. The one that caught my eyes is a feature called WIDGETS. These are small miniature applications that run alongside Opera and live on your desktop. There are widgets for just about any purpose—weather forecasts, games, clocks, dictionaries, media players, and much more.

Check out the details on the following links
http://help.opera.com/Windows/9.00/en/widgets.html

CareerRe: "Why I Hate Globacom" by Olabisi by lukkie(m): 9:28pm On Jun 21, 2006
i dont think all these people complaining about mike adenuga are wrong. a proverb in my language says that if everybody is complaining about u, then u have to check urself.

in fact i know some1 working in globacom who is constantly complaining. it is true d man has very bad managerial practices (at least judging by 21st century business). and u cannot refute what d indians are saying just like that. any company can recruit expatriates but u have 2 give them what u promise, its not only a moral obligation but a legal one. those are the things countries agree to in the WTO. i hope u heard about the ongoing case of APPLE computer allegedly using chinese factory workers in the manufacture of its ipods under slave conditions in china.

the case of globacom reminds me of junior high school economics - the disadvantages of sole proprietorship. this is exactly what happens if you solely run a business especially when u're some1 wit d management attitude of mike adenuga. globacom has a bad organizational structure. a company ought to have a proper board of directors where decisions about company practices are made.

and for nigerians defending him, of course we all appreciate his investments in the country, but it all boils down to making profit. mike adenuga is out to make more and more money.

some people are also talking talking about the products of globacom. the problems are obviously from the top. if ur company is filled with staffs who are just waiting to get a better job, then what d u expect? besides, the man is not talking about products, rather about the attitude of the chairman and the structure of the company.

my family members & myself all use glo, i think they're better, but we have to put sentiments aside and tell the truth.
i agree with the people speaking out, u never can tell, their voice might ultimately be heard and things change for the better. i wish mr. mike adenuga the best.

cheers.

PhonesRe: Show your Phone by lukkie(m): 6:20pm On Jun 20, 2006
this is my 'lil nokia (6230). it has everything i want (in a fone). for now anyway.

texazzpete, i use nokias cos of their simplicity & ease of use. so, an OS such as Symbian complicates things a little for me. of course not that i cant use it but i just want d interface as simple as possible.

i actually had d option of getin a Symbian fone but i didnt. so its not crippled as far as am concerned. i have countless java sofwares i installed on d fone. so what are we saying?

i might have to go for Symbian when i eventually get a 2nd generation N-series later though.
