mimifonwon: I would say be with whoever you feel will not cause you to die an early death and who respects you. whether rich or poor. lol.
I think in nigeria most girls are raised to marry for money not for love anything else. No matter the tribe. Now most men dont want to marry a girl from a poor family because he knows that most likely his wives people's money problem will be heaped on his head. Now some girls from the said humble family who marry rich men expect the men to help her family status rice and so forth, no matter how you look at it someone has to gain. One thing is that in a marriage of obvious wealth difference the one that has the most money is usually the one truely head over heels inlove, and the other person is just enjoying..And if money goes, love will go. Now you can understand why the rich prefer their children to marry within their social class wants one to keep the money amongst the elite, two to make sure there is more to the marriage than money. Most wealthy men who are ambitious and worked and made their own money and didnt get it handed to them usually looks for a woman that will push them and also one that is ambitious as him. There is a joke about marrying for love is for the poor, and the truth is , it really is, for the poor who marry eachother love endearingly. the rich who marry eachother are more committed and more driven to keep their family together, no matter what happens, to protect the wealth. Their similar goals are usually what keeps their marriage and of course the children. For the poor, its more of a believe that God will provide, and its sad they fail to notice that God helps those that help themselves. Whether you marry rich or poor, make sure you marry someone you can leave with till death do you part. Money goes, but what stays is the love, respect, friendship that are intangible and cannot be bought. Truth is when you truly love someone financial background or family status has no bearing... its actually an after thought for some. endures aTrue love ll. Rich or poor.
completely true<buh how many people today believe true love endures all?dats really a rare tot from a lady in this generation, WELLDONE

safarigirl: I wouldn't advise anyone to do those moves in a club, cos like I said, if you hit someone's jaw with your elbows, P-square no send you message.

It's good for morning work-out sessions and would look better if danced as a group, but it won't take away from the individuals.

Azonto is cool, buh some think it doesn't look good on dudes, me thinks if dudes dance it as they should, it looks awesome...definitely much easier than Alingo.

Hmm, might do a vid combining Alingo-Gangnam style-Etighi-Yahooze and Azonto using the Alingo song and put it up on Youtube, so y'all can learn...I'm nice like that grin
do u realy dance?

safarigirl: looks like a silly dance to me..if an African had propagated that dance e no for pass their village...buh since everyone thinks Asians are funny, they were able to sell the moves...doesn't exonerate it from looking like something a child put together and it's generally viewed as silly, you dance it to goof off, not cos you a badassss.
yeah u ar kinda rite about if it were to An african dat propagated gangnam it wudnt av worked like wen flavours 'ashewo remix' n his dance steps went viral in africa,I checked it out on youtube guess what............it only had 5million hits after a year online talkless of kukere or etighi by dver(that's even if etighi is on youtube). All d same Gangnam is simple n fun to dance, can't wait to c u do d STYLE#lol#
EntertainmentRe: Which Of This Is Nigerian Dance Of The Year? by luvablesam(m): 4:16pm On Dec 23, 2012
safarigirl: gangnam isn't Nigerian/African, the topic is on Nigerian steps...besides, Gangnam style na for small children, na to dey jump like horse, dey swing imaginary rope..easy...Alingo's the man's dance
I knw its not nigerian So is azonto n etighi, funny u said Gangnam was for kids(shocked at u)I remember seeing OBJ vividly dancing it in ghana recent n Sabestian Vettel dance it too after winning d F1 grand prix there. So OOPUM GAnGNAM STYLE Dearie

dont8: I love Nigerians when it comes to creativity, every now and then we create unique stuffs; dance steps inclusive, which we dance to as youths and sometimes the children and the elderly ones are not left out.

Apart from the health benefits, dance is good for social interraction, confidence and well-being, but its unfortunate that dance do come and go, but the good news also is that new ones are given 'birth' to. Amongst the ones given 'birth' to this year are:

1. KUKERE

2. ETIGHI

3. AZONTO

4. ALINGO

5. KOKOMA

Base on popularity, which will you choose as your dance of 2012.
strange there is no GANGNAM STYLE on ur list with over a billion hits on youtube.......By d way ....its GANGNAM all thw way!
RomanceRe: Why Do Nigerians Prefer To Marry The Rich? by luvablesam(op): 4:54pm On Dec 22, 2012
vivian chinaza: I'm from a very humble background or should I say poor? Yea poor sounds like it, "humble" just makes it bearable, Lol, ok. But rich guys keep coming for me, and no one has ever cared about my family's financial/social status. In fact, that's the first thing I tell them, I'm always like "dear, don't let my looks deceive you, I'm from a very humble background o." I'm Vivian, and that should be enough!
So contrary to your opinion, majority of guys don't actually care.

A lot of ladies who have misplaced their priorities actually care about how rich a guy is before they consider him and I just pity them. I just hope they realize that the life of a man is a mystery. A man's life can change in a twinkle of an eye.

I'm friends with a lot of people who at one time couldn't even afford a decent meal, but just one phone call changed their lives for best, and vice versa.

Last year, I did a job for this couple that had no house. The groom is my friend and as at then the most valuable property he had was his laptop. In fact, when he told me he was getting married I was like "are u crazy?" Cos he didn't even have a house. Few weeks to the wedding someone gave them a room in his flat and they were squatting there. Whenever I went to the house to discuss their wedding I was always like "how could this girl get married to a man that doesn't have a house?" Honestly, I couldn't understand, I couldn't even think of myself doing it. Well, there marriage is a year old and they are now living in one of the beautifully furnished house I have ever seen.

Stories like this humble me, and I of all the things I have seen in my few years on earth, I have known that riches cannot be guaranteed. I have also known that life is a mystery.

So if you fall in love with someone from a rich background good, if you fall in love with someone from a humble background good too. Marrying a rich person is not a crime, marrying a poor person is not a crime either, provided that LOVE is the driving force.
my respect for u just grew by a mile but do u knw it has now become llke a job for people to 'RichHunt' nowadays?(I.e)look for rich suitors?......don't be shocked, yeah they do...the thing is sad n shocking

blazingtrain: These assertions aren't true, some people still marry for love.
dats a rare occurence nowadays
RomanceWhy Do Nigerians Prefer To Marry The Rich? by luvablesam(op): 9:57am On Dec 22, 2012
I called up a friend recently to tell him I was getting married, guess what he did.
He SCREAMED n then asked me who I was getting married to as follows;

HE: Who are her Parents, are they rich?
Me: Why are you asking?,
HIM: Just want to know cos if they aren't then you have messed up big time, seriously guy you no try .

I was shocked, though that's the harsh reality these days, no or very few guys want to marry girls from humble backgrounds.

Same goes for ladies too, if theirs even isn't more pronounced. Like a friend once said 'perceived ugly girls get married every weekend while the ones that think themselves beautiful buy "Aso ebi or anko" to attend such occasions hoping to meet Dangote's sons.

My question now is that what is happening to our value system, what's your take on everyone targeting the rich for marriage and who marries the average or seemingly poor?
