ajoks533: Good evening elders in the Ehailing line... How many platform (Uber, Bolt, Taxify, etc) are advisable for one to operate on and what is the ideal way to merge them in order to make profit from them.
Bolt/taxify same thing. Uber to meet premium riders but few times u meet the regular, bolt/taxify more of regular folks some few times premium riders. Bolt to get out of ghettos like agege ejigbo akute etc. Uber back to back trips on the island. Taxify will also give u trips back to back though. Taxify night crawlers use it alot like olosho etc. So mix the two to your advantage
calabardick: They should better read and learn, in as much as I don't trouble you, you've no right to trouble me, if you try it na 3MB I'll end your trip, treat your fvckup and kick you out of my car. Uber have authorise us to abort any idiotic trip.
I see one lowlife punk downgrading drivers because he feels he's working with a heavenly downstream or whatever. I personally work with an upstream - E & P (Automation Engineer, studied and certified in Brazil ), works offshore (2 weeks in/out). I resigned from a reputable military service to further my studies. Instead of staying idle I decide to romance uber, it's fun and stressful out there, it resets my brain as well.
Driving with uber have expose me to both angels and demons, it really shaped my life in so many ways, I've learned a lot.
Drivers deserves to be respected, it's not easy.
On Friday I picked one nasty lady that was insulting and commanding me to drive like James Bond, I ignored her and she tapped my shoulder from behind and said "mr. Man I'm talking to you", I didn't say anything and she began ranting, I ignored her. According to airtel THAT THING DEY PAIN.
When we get to Blenco she mannerlessly asked me to stop for her to shop, and I did. She get inside, I followed her, we shopped at the end of the shopping I purposely stood behind her, my items were 10x more than what she picked and she asked me who I am, I humbly showed her my IDs when we entered the car, that's when sudden humility overshadowed her she now switched to the front seat, I ended the trip there, gave her a free ride to gulf at lakowe, without collecting a kobo from her for the entire ride. When she asked me why I offer her a free ride, I told her UBER DRIVERS AREN'T POOR.
She called around 11pm, I didn't pick her call, she dropped a message [just checking on you]
I use iPad for uber, fuuuck CEOs
Most drivers dont know how to identify a$$ holes and treat them accordingly. I know how to put a$$ holes in their place and if you are a correct person you go enjoy riding with me.
The kin mosquito that bite me the last time I slept inside car for lekki, I give my self brain buy car mosquito net incase the need to sleep street come up again (which can be inevitable sometimes)
Like if you have had similar experience, share if you have never slept on the street in the course of this hustle
I eventually came out oh, couldn't resisted the trip that entered, from my bed request entered I asked rider where she was heading to, omo na after 2nd till gate oh trip ended 6,700 as I drop her another enter return trip to oyinbo. I don gross 11k + I just dey hope for trip back to mainland cos i cant sleep street inside this cold.
This rain that has refused to stop, taking yet another day off. Got a trip from my neighbourhood to iyana paja and got another back to my neighbourhood, I saw that as a sign to take the day off
The trouble of getting and keeping a job is too much, unless you are a professional or consultant it can be frustrating and eventually become very boring. I used to work with a multinational but couldn't keep up with the politics (man know man), pretending to be who a not to please my boss was eating me deep inside. I was eventually laid off months after I got married and expecting a baby. For months i saw my savings went down in Geometric progression I eventually joined the Uber platform now I can pay my Bill's without kissing anyone's ass
Gentlelife50: Y u sef go tell am? Next wait till half way the journey then use style tell am
There is no need disclosing that information, uber alerts the riders wen the fare is surge fare. And if you get to destinating and rider refuse to pay let dem go Uber is one of the most secured ride sharing platforms I've ever come across.
As for the other ride sharing platform I wish all riders can be made to pay via card.
Ehailing saved me from the horror of financial trouble and frustration. Just 6months after I got married and expecting a baby, I was laid off my paid employment. After searching for another job for over 7months and left with money to sustain me for just 1month. I had to register on ehailing platform now I make ×2 of minimum wage weekly. at least I can pay my Bill's and take care of my family with rest of mind and not having to resume and face the abuse of employers and some horrible line manager
7 ways to increase your weekly earnings driving on Uber/bolt platform.
1) Set out early, start your day as early as possible to benefit from Surge fares associated with early morning rush.
2) Be Patient, dont drive around looking for riders, your app is developed to cover a reasonable radius in KM. So find a calm safe place to park and relax that trip will come.
3) Know you terrain, know the highly residential areas and the highly commercialized areas and position yourself appropriately.
4) Dont rush/drive towards surges, most times it can be tempting to drive towards surges the unfortunate thing is that before you get to the surge area the surge will clear off after you must have used up fuel to drive towards the surge and that is waste of resources. The only time I advice you drive towards surge is if you are less than 5min away.
5) Offer good and quality services, see you ride share business as your personal business which it is and take it seriously and see and treat every rider that enters your vehicle as a customer. Have the business customer attitude. Not only will your rating improve you can also get tips.
6) Keep your car clean and decent, keep your car clean this may be difficult due to our environment but your effort will be noticed and appreciated.
7) Introduce your side, Develope a friendly rapport with your riders and introduce your side hustle, the rider may just need that service. The ridesharing platform is a free way to advertise to prospective clients.
My name is Seyi from Znap. we provide QR Code as a Service.
We operate a QR Code Manager solution called ZnapQR. With Znap, you can create, track and manage QR Code Campaigns for brands.
I have a proposal for the house which can drive additional revenue. It is a QR-Based in-Car Advertising Service.
How it Works 1. We will generate a customized QR Code Sticker for each Driver 2. Each Driver will stick it in a strategic area in their vehicle to catch the attention of Riders 3. For each unique engagement with the QR Code Sticker, we will pay the rider a fee.
How to Apply 1. Registrations is FREE, No fees 2. Riders don't need to pay for the QR Sticker, Znap will cover the bill for it.

Please I am on a verge of going into this business here in Abuja.
However, I am new in town. From enquiry and all I have read here, with the business being saturated, I really need you guys' advise.
Tired of my 9-5job (pays less than 80k) which I want to quit and I have a Honda civic 2010 model at my disposal for HP.
Please guys, I urgently need your raw advise
You need to understand that ehailing is not just to drive to make money moving ppl from point A to B is a platform to network and create business relationships with riders that can do business and willing to do business. Think outside the box.
kingsoluv4real: Hey Guys. Can I use a Dual Sim Phone for Uber? Thanks
I strongly advice you not to use a dual sim fone, if u must use it make sure only one sim is installed in it. Reason being that while on a trip and a call enters it disrupts the network and money get lost in that process. So play safe and use just one sim, preferably the one u bearly receives calls on.
eyinola: I am interested in this Uber business but the price of the almighty corolla has made me chill for a long time now..I will be interested in chatting u too
pope191: Can't b grateful enough dat I'm home ard 6pm today, it was such a day I don't know if I should place bad or good, but at a point I'll trade all just to be home... Around 12 I was at grammar SCH when this request (1.6) going to mariner beep, didn't know she was going into d market. On our way I saw the still traffic from Berger to the tip of oworo bridge, despite driving against it, I can't shake off the thought about how am I going to reach home today, end up dropping rider and enter into dose cb guys wahala, my offence I honestly don't know, the flood, rain and everything, thought off going back home just left me restless like who send me, I should have just stay back home like Cooladex and other drivers, but I felt like going to lere to chill with friends... My offence, deh said I beat traffic light, while I tot they jumped in front of me cos of one way (I honestly did not see any traffic light, not even before driving away from the spot ard martins street, as I was using d car in front of me to measure one way, whenever he cut, I follow). Flood everywhere and all I care about was to get the car out of the flood first before facing them, las las I didn't even bother wasting my time talking to the guy, just ask him what do you want? He said "if I do normal no problem", provokely I don't know when I handed over d 4k in the holder to him, the guy took it and even offer to help me get out of the flood. Drove down to Awolowo way and got a request to ICM, I drove through eko bridge, the kind of traffic I saw at fadeyi to Maryland made me to cringe, the whole of Ojota was completely block, how I got out of those traffic still left me marvel
In brief, if you stayed back today, you honestly lost nothing, forget the surge's, deh r mere trap. Total gross today was just 8400, but with fear and heavy heart, cos I honestly don't know what's in front of me.
Like every other business challenges are inevitable. Just keep the attitude right and spirit up for another day. Cheers
dru23: I just discovered your post now .. Keep up the good work ,continue to encourage others out there. Me myself I have some cars on uber .. Elantra 07 and 08. And Honda civics 03 to 05 .. I love the civics so much, to me they are the best cars for ehailing .. Maintenance and fuel consumption is very low .... Below is the most recent car I bought for ehailing.. Keep up the good work bro ...
Slikor: pls candid advice is needed, am considering the c180 Benz over corolla both 2005 model for uber purpose since the price difference is not much. pls advice.
Stormyweather: Benz for uber? Hmmmmm I'll suggest the corolla since it's cheaper to maintain than the Benz. Why not look at other options like a matrix, yaris or 05 Camry just even recently heard that Peugeot 407 is fuel efficient. In other advice, go to the uber thread and ask them there. Meet with a lot of nice guys there
Please how is the C180 expensive to maintain. I use a C320 4matic
No doubt the sales of the Toyota brands especially the Corolla and Camry has drastictically increased over the years, this can be traced to banks and the conventional taxis adopting this brand as their 1st choice for obvious reasons, Fuel consumption and technical support topping the reasons.
This huge drift to this brand has made the price of this very basic Sedan cars very expensive to acquire. For instance a Nigerian used 2003 corolla can have price tags as high as 1.4million naira.
But let us recall that before toyota took over the streets, taxi drivers used car brands like Mercedes Benz regular and 190e. Mazda, Audi, Peugeot, Etc
What vehicles can you recommend for ehailing other than the toyota corolla? which is now a high target for car thief and vandals not to talk of harassment from law enforcement agencies. If you are currently using other car brands for ehailing kindly share your experiences and challenges.
