Check out the 1993 elections , igbos voted en masse for abiola even though an ugbo man was the running mate of the NRC candidate, Tofa

what is sad is that Abiola was denied his mandate by a Northerner, IBB, incarcerated by another northerner, Abacha (and Buhari served under abacha)

when Abacha died on his way to self-succession, they , the Northerners assasinated MKO

i didnt want to re open this wound to bring bad blood but to educate u on some very recent political history

Igbos generally abhor injustice, we simply felt power should rotate round the regions fairly

the north had it for 20 years at stretch from 1979 to 1999, not counting the preceding years

anyways its all in the past

what is paramount is we get a better economy and prosperity for Nigerians

It is never a sad ending! He is the only hero in this election, the man who said yes when it matters most. It takes a hero's heart to concede defeat in order to save life. Unlike what happened in 2011 people lost their lives and properties because a man lost an election. Meanwhile, how well or bad he performed will be defined by the incoming government but I see no significant changes coming because the same looters are around and Buhari cannot escape their gimmicks.

My brother lets call a spade a spade here...we really dropped the ball on this one. No matter how anyone wants to parse it, history will surely record this as one of the lowest of lows for the Igbo nation. That a proud, very discerning and fiercly independent-minded people, through skillful manipulation by a handle of their so called leaders ( who in turn are nothing but a shameless clache of bean-counting Abuja/Lagos contractors), allowed unfounded primal fear and grade-school propaganda to turn the entire Igbo nation into the pathetic enclave of an accidental, clueless and weak president, from a people who still largely see their ethnic identity through a mixture of jealousy and hatred of the swash-buckling Igbo, is tragic and calls for deep soul searching.

The arrogance of some ApC folks is becoming nauseating. In 2011, GEJ won GMB by over 18 million votes and GMB refused to accept defeat. Many people were killed in the violence that ensued thereafter.

In 2015,GMB wins GEJ with less than 3 million votes and GEJ concedes defeat as an incubent president.

Yet some say GEJ did that to play to the gallery because he didn't have a choice.
