deomelllo: Generations after generations trooping to other states in Nigeria for survival and daily bread just to send money back to their villages and build village houses is not recovery since the money didn't come from your towns and villages.
Talk about recovery when you are able to boost economic growth, create jobs, stop the outflow of labor/manpower to other places for survival, give your taxes to your own states in form of IGR to build quality infrastructures instead of giving it to other states to develop their states instead of yours.
The recovery is in the states you get the money from, not in your own states
The states you get the money from are the ones starting and completing more and quality projects than your own states and your states have the lowest IGR and state budgets in Nigeria and the meager IGR and budgets means your states are poor and there's little or no economic growth and strength.
When was the last time any of your states built and commissioned any grand and quality projects?
The best project executed by the best governor in the SE according to many of you was a substandard and poorly built flyover that's crumbling into pieces after 1 year of use and haven't even done anything significant since then.
I know it's a must for you people to beat chest needlessly, but facts and logic doesn't support your claims and chest beating.
Come talk about recovery when you're able to show us the economic growth, IGR strength and numbers and your healthy state budgets. u are still crying also i think u mean state ie lagos cuz the IGR of SW states(apart from ogun due to its proximity and easing of overcrowding in lagos) is pretty shite do u think its a coincidence that ur elders keep screaming one nigeria? when igbos went back home and fought, did ur elders not occupy the offices previously owned by igbos? but alas after seeing that they couldnt match the igbos they started crowing one nigeria. when other seaports are open in nigeria is then u will see only a madman importing from apapa instead of onne or onitsha |

ijustdey: By Dayo Johnson, Akure SEEKING spiritual assistance from Oladele Ayuba, an lslamic cleric in Arigidi-Akoko area of Akoko North West, Ondo State, after being battered by life challenges, is like jumping from frying pan to fire or, better still, entering the lions’ den to be devoured.
https://cdn.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Ayuba.png *Left: Ayuba (third right) with some security agents; right;: The car and charms allegedly recovered from him
Instead of taking the burden off the shoulders of his clients, the cleric allegedly added to it by defrauding them and having carnal knowledge of some of the women. He was alleged to have defrauded his clients to the tune of N36m after hypnotising them.
Sunday Vanguard investigation showed that the cleric, nicknamed ‘Young, also allegedly had his hands in kidnapping and ritual killings.
The paramount traditional ruler of the town, the Zaki of Arigidi-Akoko, Oba Yisa Olanipekun, banished Ayuba from the town following reports of his alleged shady deals.
Olanipekun wrote a letter to security agents to lodge a complaint on the alleged criminal activities of the cleric.
The Oba alleged that the cleric had his fingers in nefarious activities ranging from kidnapping to ritual killing, sex with childless women seeking spiritual help and fraud.
According to him, many alleged crimes said to have been committed in the town and environs were traceable to Ayuba.
The traditional ruler was quoted to have said that he did not want to see the suspect in his community anymore.
Ayuba is presently in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command.
Speaking on the activities of the suspect, a resident of Arigidi-Akoko revealed that Ayuba would instil fear in the minds of those seeking spiritual help from him after they might have been hypnotised and assured of spiritual cleansing.
It was learnt that his victims include those who visited him for solution to spiritual matters ranging from barrenness to lack of husband, spiritual attack, stagnation at work, lack of good job and terminal diseases.
“He would request for money from his clients to help them prepare fetish substances that would deliver them from their enemies”, the resident, who spoke anonymously for fear of reprisal, said.
The cleric reportedly had a shrine where, the moment victims entered, would lose their senses and then remotely be controlled to look for money at all costs.
Ayuba, according to one of the victims, always warned them not to tell anybody failure which their problems would double and they would eventually die.
He was paraded alongside two other suspects for alleged offences, including obtaining by false pretence, illegal possession of counterfeit money and vandalism of transformer, by the State Command of the NSCDC.
The Corps Commandant, Pedro Awili Ideba, gave the names of the two other suspects as Abiodun Oluwaseun and Jayeola Tosin.
Pedro said Ayuba, who claimed to be an Islamic cleric, was involved in advanced fee fraud and had duped many who went to him for prayer of various amounts ranging from N300, 000 to N36m.
According to him, “but he was arrested following a complaint by one of his victims, Tajudeen Ekundayo, who lost N4.3m”.
He went on, “Immediately the complaint was lodged at the Command headquarters, my men swung into action and arrested the man who is alleged to be the kingpin of a syndicate in Arigidi-Akoko while other members are still at large”.
Pedro alleged that several criminal activities, ranging from kidnapping to ritual killing and fraud, had been traced to the cleric who, according to him, hailed from Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Commandant recalled that Oba Olanipekun had petitioned the State Command of the NSCDC to lodge a complaint about “criminal activities, including kidnapping, ritual killing and fraud, traced to Ayuba”.
He added, “Oba Olanipekun has given instruction that he does not want to see the man in his community anymore because he is a bad example to youths”.
Sunday Vanguard was informed that youths of the town equally advised him to return to llorin where he came from.
Petrol said items recovered from the cleric include fetish items, blood stained clothes and a car with customised registration number ‘Young 1’.
Also paraded was one Abiodun Oluwaseun, who allegedly belonged to a gang which specialized in the printing and spending of counterfeit Naira, saying he was arrested after using N 24,000 fake N1, 000 notes to buy goods from a provision seller.
According to Pedro, the woman reported the case to the State Command and the men of the Corps trailed the syndicate and arrested one of its members while others remained at large.
The Commandant added that one Jayeola Tosin, known as Asala, was also arrested in Ikare-Akoko for vandalizing transformer cables.
According to him, the suspect was arrested by men of the Nigerian Army and handed over to the Corps for investigation. Pedro assured that justice would prevail in all the matters.

Politics › Re: Should President Buhari Embrace The Mandela Option? by LZAA: 1:59pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
Opinionated: https://www.opinions.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/images_20180225103616808.jpg
By Kurtis Adigba
After the public statement issued by former President Obasanjo, wherein he unsolicitedly advised president Buhari to “dismount the horse” and not seek for re-election in 2019, the calls for Buhari, to embrace the Mandela option have become very loud amongst supporters of the former president.
What is the Mandela option?
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, an outstanding South African anti- apartheid revolutionary, was elected the first president of South Africa in 1994 for a term of 5 years. He was the country’s first black head of state and the first elected in fully representative democratic election. He also served as the president of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1991-1997. Mandela, was jailed by the Apartheid government of South Africa with some of his revolutionary colleagues such as Govan Mbeki, Ahmed Kadrada, Jacob Zuma, and so many others. Mandela spent almost 30 years in jail. He rejected so many deals that would secured his personal freedom without his colleagues. Madiba, as he is affectionately called by his adoring supporters, was in prison during most of his active and productive years. He sacrificed the love and comforts of his young family for the struggles to free the people. He did not see his young children grow, neither did he see his young beautiful wife, Winnie Mandela, grow into the powerful woman she became. His family life and business suffered, but Madiba, stood firm on his demands for a just, fair, and equal society that will guarantee liberty for all. Madiba, was for shared, inclusive prosperity for all South Africans, irrespective of race, color, language, and status.
In 1990, after a negotiated deal that guaranteed freedom for Mandela and his compatriots, ( the deal was negotiated by the current President Ramophosa) and the dismantling of the apartheid government, Mandela, was released. He was elected the leader of the ANC in 1991. In the 1994 election which followed the amendment of the Constitution, he was elected president of the RSA for a term of 5 years. His deputy at the time, was Thabo Mbeki. Thabo, is the cerebral and well spoken son of Govan Mbeki.
In the run-up to the election, Mandela, never wanted to be president. He preferred his compatriot, Govan Mbeki to be president. Govan Mbeki and others, on the other hand, wanted Mandela. And so, they reached a compromise whereby Mandela will be president and Thabo Mbeki, will be his deputy. Mandela’s major focus, was the dismantling of the legacy of apartheid by tackling institutionalized racism and fostering racial reconciliation. He established the Truth and Reconciliation Commission headed by Reverend Desmond Tutu for this purpose. He was a uniting figure and achieved so much in his first term. He was widely expected to seek re-election in 1999.
In 1998, Mandela announced that he will not be seeking re-election. He said he had substantially accomplished his purpose in government, and needed to spend more time with his family. The leadership of the ANC tried in vain to get him to change his mind. In 1999, after 5 years as president, Madiba retired from the presidency and politics. His action, was applauded by the entire world. This decision not to seek re-election, is what is known as the Mandela option.
In 2006, when it was being rumoured that President Obasanjo was intent on seeking a third term in office, Madiba, wrote him a letter warning against such illegality. Obasanjo’s attack dogs, criticized Mandela for what was then described as interfering with the internal affairs of Nigeria based on mere speculation. The same people who are now citing the Mandela option as reason why President Buhari shouldn’t run for a re-election that is constitutional, did not accept Mandela’s counsel not to pursue an illegality! Obasanjo sought a third term and failed.
Should Buhari follow the Mandela Option?
The decision is for Buhari to make depending on his personal circumstances, and the thinking of his party. This is not a decision for the opposition, or some few powerful elites to make. I concede that the Mandela option, is a good factor to consider, but it cannot be the only factor. It is one out of many factors to consider. President Buhari, is legally entitled to seek re-election, and cannot be forced out of the race.
To all the people worried about the prospect of Buhari losing the election, please don’t lose sleep over it. Buhari, had lost in 3 previous elections, it is nothing new to him.
The opposition should mobilize to defeat President Buhari at the polls instead of harassing him with the Mandela option. If Buhari, is indeed a poor president, why is the opposition and the Coalition Movement worried, or troubled by the prospects of his running in the election? It should be good news for them!

If you have your container cleared in ports in your region, you will not have whare house and factories in Lagos where the market is? Will you ot still spend money on logistics? The money you pay at the port will not change because u are igbo. The money you claim to pay to move your whares is the same you will make back to sell it.
Even here in Lagos, there is a big market for raw materials, so if you clear from Eastern ports, you will transport back to Lagos. Any difference? And from Lagos, you get easy access to other western States if need be.
Are you alright? Use your brain! this quote alone shows u are an afonja no hausa man wee defend yorubaland like this oh and lemme give u a tip if those ports open up, apapa that u see that is flooded with traffic will empty hqrts of shops and businesses in lagos will relocate to the east to beat heavy taxation ie all u will see there na branches so undastand d basics |

UK is a group of countries coming together, that can happen and that's why UK left EU. Let manchester wake up to break out of England naa. Even new Castle that has difficult ascent to southern England, let Dem break up let's see if England will leave dem.
Get sense abeg! When I said countries not willing to break up, how much good has it done them? Can't you see how Egypt and Sudan are best countries in Africa? Lol Egypt is far better than Nigeria no even compare am The english have a common ancestor and speak a common language so why any side will want to leave that union is baffling also the UK did not leave the EU england did scotland is still part of the EU as per sudan there is no country that does not encounter difficulties early on |

Don't even compare that of UK becos it is different. UK didn't divide against itself but only broke out of an external body. Let London or manchester wake up one day and say they want to leave and see if England will allow it.
Talk with sense abeg!
Why didn't Nigeria get sanction over kanu's disappearance? Why? World politics.
You think UK and USA are not aware they were going to pick kanu up? I said it before that biafra is not a member state in the UN and nobody there to defend Dem but Nigeria is a member state and buhari will defend Nigeria, so who will know when he is lying or not?
Let's not fool oursef, no country will willing divide itself. lmao i said a referendum was conducted IN spain not by Spain until they are independent, countries such as east timor, biafra, catalonia and western morocco are part of their current countries. Uk did not divide against itself wow shocking real shocking tell that to the IRA and the scottish(ask william wallace ) Nigeria is a sovereign state so its actions within its borders as long as they are not pulling a hitler is dia business As per who will know if d president is lying or not u can't really be serious can you?in this age of social media? As for no country willing to divide itself tell dat to egypt who carved out sudan and sudan who carved out south sudan |
