Everyone is laughing at them. Igbo men and dirty politics are 5&6. Zuma is of no use to them and he has done nothing to deserve such recognition. I'm an igbo man and I find this your post totally disrespectful and out of line. The action of a certain individual does not reflect the character of the entire igbo tribe. |

Covert1: Thank you. I think you need to comprehend the post first then come back and retype some sense. Nothing is ignorant, stupid and or retarded in my comments. I chose my words carefully. Every word has a meaning. The NAF is not the USAF. But the USAF is now adopting the approach of the NAF to counter low-level threats. The only draw back of the Tucanos is it's slow speed otherwise is as advanced as any 4th generation fighter in the USAF. Facts don't kill even it's to the detriment of Nigeria I'll say it. Nigeria is not stupid to go invading Morocco or Algeria with propeller driven aircrafts alone. So the stupidity is in your post. By the way get some self esteem. Insults don't give self confidence. this guy |

lionel4power: It just cant cost that much.
EXCEPT we get production rights... anything else is a rip-off.
some people here keep mentioning 'maintenance assistance, infrastructure, training, spares, guided munitions and aircraft technical bla bla bla' like it's a magic word... what sort of infrastructure is that? are they going to build us hardened bombproof hangers? what sort ground support does the Tucano utilize? is it stealth or what?
Spares? what spares?
how much does 100 guided missile munitions cost (AGM-65 Maverick or Paveway II) to warrant such cost??
dont let big grammars deceive you. WE ARE BEING S.W.I.N.D.L.E.D BECAUSE WE ARE JUST PLAIN G.U.L.L.I.B.L.E.
some say there's a 'special package' coming to us... please which special package in operating a propeller aircraft? please i dont understand. what difference is the tucano from our air Beatles and super mushshak in terms of operations? is it that we haven't learnt anything from our YEARS of operating propeller aircraft? I get upset each time I come across that special package B.S, when a report online clearly states that the tucanos would come with the most basic configuration. beegeagle had this to say on the proposed frogfoot and SOCAT deal That is CRIMINALITY of the most astonishing kind. Six Su-25s and six armed Puma (supposedly the Puma Socat which I have highlighted on this blog previously), all of them pre-owned, CANNOT and should not cost us US$200m. Not even if they are upgraded by ELBIT of Israel. So it is 100% deal and 130% scam. For US$466m, we can get– eight upgraded Flankers for 150m USD– eight new Mi-171Sh Terminator assault helics for 160m USD and which are far more potent and carry twice as many troops as a Puma SOCAT– twelve upgraded Su-25KM/UB for 120m USD.That leaves us with a complete and potent array of 28 air superiority jets, ground attack jets and assault helics for US$430 MILLION, leaving a balance of 30m USD for ordnance.Shame, shame, shame. Somebody ask Chad and Niger how much they paid for their Su-25s, Niger having acquired theirs in 2014. Chei !! This is one more reason why many cynics continue to posit that the so called secrecy which notoriously bedevils military procurement in Nigeria is a convenient smokescreen for the perpetration of sharp practice on a hideous scale.God forbid. |

SupremeCourt: If their is no more face to face in 21st century war, why do your soldiers carry rifles in South African army? You shoot rifle at enemy you dont see with your eyes?
Nigerian air force can use guiding missiles from air drones, war helicopters, and jf-17 thunder jets from many miles away where the enemy cannot see NAF aeroplanes. Those jf-17 are coming with invisible distance guiding missiles that do not exist in any black African country, whatever flies in South Africa will fall under gravity and you wont even see the jf-17 far off shooting. The budget 2017, draft 2018 covers all that with proposal for 2019-2020 AESAA radar being tested, it is said that it blinds its opponents.
Air Marshal Abubakar insists anything NAF buys now will be complete package of sophistication available in the country of origin. We paid for 3 jets on 2016-17 budgets, our demand for state-of-the art technology that are now being tested is causing slow down to delivery. The 2020 medium term plan document dictates NAF must have superior air power above any country in Africa except the Mediterranean nations. No nation in the black world will be able to survive against NAF 2020. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Complete Horseshiit in letters |

jakeporeshenko: I saw the statement yesterday, won't there be a training phase to convert the pilots though? Anyways to my knowledge Since the inception of helicopter flying school Enugu, NAF is not experiencing any shortage of helicopter pilots. NAF has pilots training with aero for a very long time now, recall aero operates dauphin helos as well and were incharge of flying and carrying out maintainance of these particular airframes while they were still under NNPC. |

Henry240: Today 20/04/2017, certainly is one of my more memorable days. On this day, the Nigerian Air Force paid my home town, not just my home town, but my own parents home a medical outreach visit. From where the team provided humanitarian service to my home community.
I felt so much joy and was completely overwhelmed with happiness.
While members of the NAF regiment provided perimeter security, the Nigerian Air Force team Led by Medical Centre Command officer, G. K Eluka, provided free medical care to more than 400 people.
Totally nice guys, after i took permission from the CO, I brought out my mobile phone and photographed away. Medical team from [.....] SOG medical centre |

iblawi: The answer is simple bro. We have to pay for the 59 tomahawk missiles used in Syria with some extra yet to be used before getting the propeller plane.
Can someone tell me why Afghanistan got 20 for 400+ million plus maintenance and training and Nigeria would get 12 of the same jet for 600 million. Are we getting technology transfer?
This is really funny. |

Henry240: You wilfully displayed a bias and completely disregarded the multiple acts of disciplinary action handed out by the Nigerian Army on erring personnel.
You cannot claim to not have the stomach to accept bullsheet and lies when you have deliberately tried to mislead unsuspecting members of the pub8[quote author=tdayof post=55151604]You posted on how a military personnel brutalized a lady but didn't post on the Nigerian military response to the inhuman act Now that is bias. LOL. Moments ago someone deliberately rendered a new definition for the word "brutalized" in favour of the Nigerian military, I didn't see you guys calling him out for being bias. Henry240: The unprofessional conduct of a few does not constitute an affront for disrepute to the general professionalism of the Nigerian Army.
Especially when taken into account that the Nigerian Army has disciplinary channels with which the force deals with unprofessional conduct by some of it's personnel as we have seen on multiple occasions.
I find it quite unfortunate that most of you non-active thread contributors have a phobia for good news, appearing mostly when there are arguments or once there is an unpleasant remark to be made. Well not everyone has the appetite to stomach bullsheet and lies. |
