I absolutely hate the K-8 Karakorum. Either we get back our MB 399C/D or we go for the L-15/Yak-130.
The L15 is a yak 130 playing dress up, the Chinese really designed it with the map of Africa next to it on the board, so naturally Nigeria should get a copy

South Africa replacing 30yrs old samil trucks is really commendable.
It doesn't need to start falling apart before you call for its replacement

Henry240:
Lmao

The Alpha jets got to go, but the F-7s can still serve as Interceptors.
F-7s are fantastic daytime linear interceptors (short legged if i may add)
Ah!! The love affair between the NAF and the alpha jets is like a union bound in hell, all the right reasons and all the wrong reasons.

If they can't stand cutting the alphas, then creating an October 1st aerobatics display team out of the alphas shouldnt be a bad idea. Just don't fly them into battle no more.

Yea I consider them to be good. Not in battle warfare but for her class she's good to go technologically. I can guarantee you after dismantling the Mig 21, we will be able to manufacture a proper UAV.
Thanks for being honest.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by M14A1: 8:33pm On Sep 15, 2016
tdayof:
Worse? You consider the F-7 to be bad? Moreover what I am trying to say is the MIG-21 will definitely do out UAV engineers more good.

There's something to learn from that old bird for Nigerian engineers.
You consider the F-7 to be good?

Yes there's something to learn on the ground from it.
After that herd them all to the museum with the alpha in tow

only Russian plane emphasizes the supper maneuverablity eg Su30 series , most western plane can not do like pugachev's cobra. As western plane have better BVR missle and brobably better rader, they don't have big chance to have close combat.

i am also saying the same thing except that 1-2 of the shown tricks ( in the posted picture ) have combat utility according to my knowledge/info.

i would have really enjoyed discussing the combat air tactics but last few days my brains tensed with real life problems.

on a better day i hope to enjoy discussing the same with u and M14A1 grin
i hope 2 of u will join again grin
It would be a pleasure sir

i just have a simple query for u and andrewza

why would i have TVC installed in my fighter jets in-spite of the penalties of weight , maintenance , cost ?

i know 2 countries who employ hundreds of TVC equipped aircraft's , now why would they do that ?
for airshow 20-30 TVC equipped aircraft's are enough.

combat maneuvers and tactics run by a fighter aircraft are one of the most closely guarded secrets of an airforce , not shared even with closest allies .
Combat maneuvers yes!!! But speed dumping maneuvers in a multi bogey theatre?
Axial thrust pushes the jet (and wing) through the air at a speed required to maintain lift. Take away forward thrust, take away speed and lift. Go back to the video here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2dgi2NhMSw

What's happening? The Flanker is dropping like a rock at slow speed (no lift is being produced by the wing). If the Flanker pilot does not kill me now, the other edge of the sword is about to fall. He's automatically building in vertical turning room for me and it's going to take an unacceptable amount of time for him to get enough smash back to take it away due to his low airspeed. If I'm still alive I'm turning him into a strafe rag.

There's are time for thrust vectoring and a time to leave it in the bag, with the latter always being the 1st choice.

by the way where is Chinese?? Haven't seen his post on this thread for a while now grin

I am not saying others can or cant do those tricks. i am saying they tricks and not something that will affect combat in any way.
I share your views as well

And how many fights need a back flip? It a trick that shows off the agility not a manouver meant for combat
Maybe you got me wrong the first time.

Not the number of fights that need a backflip, but the number of airplanes that can actually pull it off in a tight loop,
Agility maneuver, that's all semantics.

If you recall
nemesis2u:
https://i0.wp.com/su-27flanker.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CF5.jpg
some maneuvers which can be done by su-30 series aircraft's
I didn't type that.

You said
andrewza:
other than the cobra a air show trick nothing there is special. Just saying
Meaning any fighter jet can pull off the other maneuvers

Which i replied you thus
M14A1:
How many persons out of 50 do you know that can perform a backflip at a spot??
.......not many i guess.

I am not bashing anying, simply something technical.
This is mainly a trainer but not a fighter I think ,though it do have some attack ability.
I am not even in disagreement, the alpha is a trainer, countries like Nigeria are just leveraging on its light ground attack abilities

Horizontal strake on tail fin is to control airflow and increase angel of attack abilities
