Two type security vehicles built by two guys from Ekiti, Nigeria..

Vehicles name unknown. Protection levels unknown. Specification unknown as well.
Pix 1, 2 and 3: 1st variant
Pix 4: 2nd variant
For the sake of time spent on this, I hope it performs better than it looks, and I also hope they are not nursing the thought of going commercial with this fugly design.

What does this mean? In english.
Solely for interdiction, being used outside this envelope is testament to skills of both ground and aircrews, it wasn't meant to babysit ground troops.

That is the issue. The Nigerian army should buy the MRAP and the NAF should get an AWACS. The AWACS will perform the work of ATR too so I do not see how that is a waste of money.
Nigeria cannot afford such luxury in the form of AWACS,
Like someone rightly said, there are more discomforting issues plaguing the Nigerian military.

The airforce needs troop transport and gunships not AWACS

The missile bay amidships is fitted with three different types of launchers. At center is a new 32-cell Mark 41 Vertical Launch System from Lockheed Martin, able to handle Standard SM-2 and SM-6 missiles. The weapons have yet to be purchased, however, and the system is not yet operational. Flanking the Mark 41 are two Raytheon Mark 56 missile launchers to handle Evolved Sea Sparrow (ESSM) anti-air missiles. Just visible in the foreground are the support structures for Boeing Harpoon surface-to-surface missiles. Both the Mark 56 and Harpoon launchers come from decommissioned ships.

Yeah rusty bucket

Aradu needs a goodbye kiss and a big torpedo to the side, other ships from her days are either decommissioned or in line. I reckon she would sit nicely at bottom of the sea, off the coast of Lagos, and make for an excellent artificial reef.
grin
Your case is beyond me.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by M14A1: 7:54am On Oct 16, 2016
Henry240:
Exactly, that's the problem with the Aradu, the low maintenance we saw with the Navy especially during the military days. I mean, the Aradu, Combatantte class ships and the landing ship all saw active action in Sierra-Leone and Liberia. What happened between that time to today. "Do we have to then always have to go back replacing things when they get broken?".

After 25 years, the new Ships that are hypothetically going to be bought would then have to be replaced when they are in need of repairs? Why does it stop.

She would eventually be replaced as the cost of a refit would not be feasible.
Its crazy, I've also noticed the age long trend of not officially decommissioning hulls and airframes most times, they simply sail and fly the sheiit out of the hulls and airframes then OUT OF SERVICE just like that.

It's silly to keep running down and replacing, doesn't help anybody

Hell no
grin Rust Bucket
Other ships from her days are still in active service, so i disagree.
Aradu is just another example of rot and decay on multi levels.

I sincerely doubt she would get a refit.

can't solve insurgencies and terrorism from groups poorly funded in our continent (just imagine an african country facing well funded insurgent groups like assad is facing.how long would it take before such a state collapses.we can't even maintain simple airframes like MIG-21,most air force in this continent have air crafts rusting on backyards of their air bases

africa is not poor but stupid, incompetent, subservient, non progressive e.t.c problems that can be solved a high school graduate can't be solved even by a university graduate.the rest of the world have transformed their agriculture sector, but we are still starving to death.in the past for every 5 peace keepers in africa only 1 was african. with help from foreign countries now its for 5 peace keepers 2 are from africa. border security is non existence in most of our countries.we can't protect our coastal waters from illegal fishing, let along piracy. proliferation of small arms is serious problem due to porous borders, failed states, civil wars e.t.c
The most sensible thing I've seen all day. Nice one.

All those machines may fail at some point. What if during combat i get seperated and my primary weapon jams (which of course is perfectly possible) what then do i use? Or you think this event wouldn't be possible.

You can view my profile and see for yourself a thread i created about sidearms.
Lol!!
Everybody is an expert on the internet. What are you trying to hit in an open battlefield with a 9mm glock?

Proper gear to carry more 556 or 762 is far far better than any useless 9mm for a regular infantry

now...The gulma is used by the NAF and not NA...in the event of the NAF's Op gama aiki or Op lafiya dole with NA..the gulma takes off from the FOB

on the field of play itself the army has it's quad copters and ichoku drone(which is like the raven)
Is the Ichoku a licensed copy of the RQ-11?
Or
It was built from scratch by Nigerian engineers?

and exactly how did they find out gripen can handle the Su30MKi in BVR combat ?

gripen was evaluated along with rafale f16i typhoon mig35, with all of them being extensively flight tested by indian pilots in hot and cold conditions etc.
typhoon and rafale came out tops on the basis of technical evaluations and later rafale was selected of of the two due to lower costs.

did thailand testflight SU30MKI ?
the answer is a big no

i hope u realize articles / reports etc r not worth much in terms of credibility .

anyways good luck shooting down SU30MKI grin

and excuse me from any further discussion on this subject
thank u.

Great for airshows, but it would get you killed in real AA combat.
You bleed off virtually all your airspeed doing these manoeuvres. BIG no-no in dogfighting. Even if you get a missile shot off, the other guys wingman will kill you almost for certain, so the best outcome is a 1 for 1 suicide tactic. IF you get the other guy.
Low airspeed is where you don't want to be in a dog fight, so yeah completely accurate.
