I had my suspicion,someone or a group of people are trying to take over the food production in Nigeria,I know about Monsanto and their clandestine moves at introducing GMOs to Nigerian staples knowing the kind of relationship that exist between Dangote and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, I would not doubt this assertion, why fight the farmers engaged in the area that produces majority of what we eat and what baffles me the most is our Govt is just aloft.

People like Freeze really surprise me,$45 is the bench mark in our budget for crude oil sales for 2018,but crude oil price is about $65 but the govt decides to put the remain $20 generated into the excess crude account,which is meant for infrastructural development,this has got nothing to do with religion.Freeze is seriously losing it.

I think Freeze should show us evidence of transfer Kenneth did and he should name the Church and parish so we all can believe this tale,I think Nigerians are the most gullible set of people in this world but most claim to be smart,in this day and age of technology one comes up with an accusation without evidence to back it up,if he presents the evidence and its true the Church should refund the guy his money,simple!

Having debit cards is not bad, but carrying debit cards around is dangerous. It's in fact, a crime to carry many cards with zero balance around. At this point I think I should say this, when it comes to saving money in your bank account, it's better you have a designated account and subscribe to almost nothing. Not Mobile App. Not internet banking. Not USSD. Not even a cheque book. Just nothing.

Immediately after I contacted my family members, a bike rider who took the other lady to the nearest police station came to take me there as well. I politely asked that I be taken to the closest branch of my bank where my salary account is domiciled. The bike rider without hesitating obliged my request. I quickly explained my plight to the security and demanded to meet with a staff. One of them rushed to the branch manager who dialed contact center. After the call, using her phone she sent a mail with all my details. Then we rushed in, she signed in and placed a lien on the funds in my account. Not a kobo had left. I was grateful.

My other bank was a trekkable distance away, I trekked there. Explained to the security guard manning the entrance door, it was still past 7 and he explained that the banking hall wasn't open. I told him I needed my card blocked, he pointed me to the ATM. 'Mr.! Stop acting like a princupality! I know about self service and that I can hotlist my card through an ATM but I can't remember my card details.' Just then, a staff of the bank came in and asked what the issue was, I went straight to the point and made my simple request, he showed me the ATM, I told him I couldn't remember those details especially the last 4 digits of my card. Then he said l'll need to fill a form. At the sound of a form, I took offense. Is the Nigerian bank now like our Federal hospitals and Health centers where they watch a dying patient give up the ghost in the corridor because they need to 'fill form and pay some ridiculous amount' before treatment will commence. I made it clear that if withdrawals are done on my account from the time I got to the branch and my account gets cleared, they'll pay down to the last kobo. I made it clear that customer's instruction superseded any other instruction or form I needed to fill. Everything can be regularised later. First things first.

When the staff saw my understanding of banking, he asked for my account name, I provided that. He asked for the name of the branch where the account was opened, I provided that. Then he asked for my mobile number tied to the account. I did. All these answers were to help him get my account number from the system cos I couldn't correctly remember my account number and I wasn't ready to gamble with it. He went in with that information and came out shortly smiling. Your card has been blocked and the last transaction on your account was an inflow from Chinasa on the 3rd of February. 'Thanks', I said smiling back.

I called a relation working in a bank next through the help of a family member who had come to my rescue and was now driving me around. I got my card blocked as well. From there I went to my last bank that was actively for savings. There I met no resistance. The customer service agent cooperated well and after asking all security questions made sure to block the card. She wrote down my balance in the account and put the paper in my hand. 'Sorry', she said.
"Thank you", I responded.

Next was to block my SIM card. That was equally successful. I did that over the phone. By the time I was done, I couldn't believe it. That I was alive and well. No tooth lost. I could still see. I wasn't bleeding. I had all my monies intact. I was not in shambles so to say.

By the time I got to the office that day, as I recounted my ordeal, it dawned on me that this pattern has been going on for a while. These guys are on the roads of Lagos unleashing havoc and making the city unsafe. It is to this end I've decided to share my experience and hope someone learns from this. We cannot be too careful but as much as we can, ensure you take adequate measures to protect yourself.

Most Nigerians don't know how expensive quality education is,check Universities in developed countries and one would see how expensive it is,if the Govt should hands off education in Nigeria and allow the Universities to fund themselves 90% of intending students in Nigeria won't be able to afford quality education, now I lay emphasis on "quality", cos what we have in Nigeria is nothing to write home about,I think Freeze should stop being sensational, quality education is not cheap at all,just Google MIT and check how much this institution spends on research alone,Nigeria needs to prioritise quality education not just the glorified secondary schools we have as Universities.

That's because the petroleum industry there cannot rely on govt for subsides...so they are free to sell fuel at a profitable price.

And they refine their fuel at home by the way.....

You can't compare the standard of living in the US with Nigeria minimum wage over there is at least $8.50cents an hours and some states in the US even pay $11 an hour,now people are able to afford a good life cos there are mortgages on houses,cars even phones, its really unfair to compare Nigeria and the US they are miles ahead of us in terms of development, asides that their citizens don't complain cos there are alternative means of transportation, now they are even use electric cars and hybrids,what we need here is good and purpose driven leadership with a clear cut vision of where we want to be on the next 30yrs.

Petrolex refinery is of what capacity? out of 13 and I don't have to answer your question about Dangote focusing more on export cause its obvious you are oblivious of what it takes to set up a refinery,when I asked you about the procedure you couldn't answer,instead just like a typical Nigeria resorted to throwing tantrums.

The problem with people like you is that because you think you are educated it means you're enlightened, but the two are different.
Getting a refinery License in Nigeria alone requires a lot of money and serious lobbying, getting an approval for you to get a license to build requires you spending a lot of money on feasibility reports and Environmental Impact Assessment report all these things will cost millions.
I want to be as civil as possible on this platform that's why I rarely comment cos most people just like to shadow box.

its obvious you still don't know the inner workings of what it takes to set up of a refinery in Nigeria,licenses were given to about 18 firms in 2002 then after 13 of the met the required parameters which includes a feasibility report and EIA report to mention a few these 13 firms were given the license to build the remaining 5 were denied because they weren't to meet the criteria, now Dangote got his license during GEJ's era and the Govt supported just the same way Govt supported him during Obj's tenure it was only during Yar'adua's that he wasn't allowed access to the presidency,Dangote won't survive the Nigerian business climate if he wasn't treated with preference,my argument is give the same opportunities to other firms just the way its been given to Dangote and allow others flourish, a country cannot grow economically when there's no level playing ground for competitors,we celebrate mediocre in this country a lot that's why we are where we are today,why would the CBN create a special forex window for one man?is he the only business man in the country?I don't have any issues with him but I feel the country can do better than just allowing one man monopolise the economy,even Dangote refinery when complete will do more of export than settle local consumption that's what people don't know.
