emmahoney: You are not allowed to work in India. It is illegal to do so. As a matter of fact, you will need to be submitting your Statement of Account (6 months) each time you are renewing your Research Visa or Residence Permit. The sole aim of this is to track the inflow of money into your account. Your sure bet is to find a fully funded scholarship that covers all your expenses (monthly stipend inclusive). One of such scholarships (ICCR Scholarship) closed in March or so. And some Nigerians are already getting offers.
The school offers 50% scholarship (amounting to $2500 p.a) and a teaching assistantship (about $200/m)- You can avail this opportunity only, since it is a part of your admission package. Outside this, you cannot work elsewhere without running into trouble.
Food is very cheap in India, however, accommodation is somehow on the high side. If you are willing to cook your own food by yourself, 8-10k rupees is more than enough monthly. For the accommodation, you might be paying between 5 to 8k rupees (for university's hostel) depending on your location.
In general, the educational sector in India is slightly above that of Nigeria. This still depends on you university involved and your Research Supervisor. Some supervisors will make you to publish your work in predatory journals! (check where your potential supervisor is publishing for a better choice). Their NITs and IITs are generally good. However, getting an offer there for Indians is even difficult let alone foreigners. Although some Nigerians/Africans are there but there number is insignificant. Six months statement of account for residency permit - while in India or Nigeria? Predatory journals after @Wip7 admonitions! Nah, that would definitely be an issue. If I may ask, why would someone (a supervisor, in this case) want to publish in such a journal? Yea, their NITs and IIT are dam good, that's my target fa. I may just have to let go and check-out somewhere else. By-the-way, Sharda University, is the school. Thanks, for the enlightenment. |

KelvinCoaster: Congratulations on your Ph.D admission. I don't know much about the Indian educational system especially for foreigners, [s] but one thing is 'universal': The scholarship covers the research project (50% as stated in your submission above).[/s]
Goodluck to you! "universal"- speaking from a Nigerian perspective, once you pay school fees. You still still fund your research project/thesis. That's my focus. Despite the Admission Officer saying no more payments, I don't take people's words 100℅ (based on my experience and others), except proven otherwise! I don't want to start and get stuck up (I cant come and be begging in a foreign land oh). Thanks for your reply. |

KelvinCoaster:
Yea, this thread helped my especially @Prof Wip journals during my seminar. Downloaded and studied not less than 115 journals. Was so rigorous but at least I made an A. And my grades significantly improved from probation I passed. Thanks all for you contributions. Currently on thesis. So stressful coupled with Nigerian factors - strike, etc. Now, to my question. How 'good' is Indian educational sector. Got an offer for a PhD, but the visa laws (best to my findings online), students are not allowed to work. And it seems the unemployment rates is similar to Nigeria. The school offers 50% scholarship (amounting to $2500 p.a) and a teaching assistantship (about $200/m). By my calculations, also I might need about $4000 for feeding and housing. How, feasible is it to work in India and pay for studies even if I managed to pay for the first academic year. Also I asked the Admission Officer, she said no other cost. I kept wondering if the research project is also covered in their tuition. |

emmasoft: It's good news for anything that has to do with fixed income instruments - mutual funds (MMF and Fixed income), Tbills even bank fixed deposits or just the usual savings account, [/strong] savings bond[/strong] etc.
Not very good news for equities but equities depend on other things not just news of rates so even if rates are up and fundamentals of stocks are good and getting better high rate or not equities will still do well. On the fixed income, MMF and specifically BONDS Sir, is it on existing bonds or yet to be offered bonds? |

emmasoft: Your references are noted but that doesn't make cross deals illegal or bad. The point I'm trying to make is That a process is abused doesn't make it illegal.
For example it's a normal and legitimate process to access funds by way of loans from financial institutions but we can testify how some companies (banks) have been sent under and investors lost their money because of abuse of the process resulting to bad debts etc. In fact cross deals has solved some family issues that could have arise when an investor is deceased. Some investors use the process to allot their shares among their children before death and a cross deal can be used when giving out shares as a gift etc.
With right regulation and enforcement cross deals can always serve its purpose. Thanks for free education to all that contribute. Let's say I want to get shares from someone using a different stockbroking to mine. That's a cross deal right, and I will pay for charges. Once the price is agreed. How do I go about it. I remember someone here wanted to sale universal insurance at a lower price sometimes ago. That's a cross deal right? |

Good day all.
Just found this thread. Pls I got a pressing question. I have a degree in biochemistry. (3.75). It's been quite a while now. Now enrolled for an MSc, but battling with low GPA(2.90). Can't say why. If not ASUU strike, should be done by August. No much job experience save for good IT placement (in a standard lab), NYSC (environmental protection), two years teaching experience (Biology, Chemistry and Agric) and volunteering (NGO's). I got no GRE, TOEFL, ITELS Scores and don't intend writing them- reason been lack of funds (application fees and transcript processing is already high for me).
Currently, due to job prospects and stiff labour market in Nigeria, I have made up my mind for a graduate studies in Europe, USA or Asia. But my target is USA, Canada, Isreal, Germany, Australia, Austria, Sweden, and Finland in priority.
1 - is it a crime to hid the MSc while applying for another MSc mostly likely in another field? 2 - what are chance of geting a PhD with about 3.0/5 in Europe? 3- I know some schools allows for a direct PhD but usually takes 4/5 often, is this advisable? 4 - for instance I got rejected at first trial, will I have to resend my transcripts again to the school or the previous sent transcript with still be applicable? As transcript is espensive in my school. |

wip7: Possible Thesis Research Ideas For Science-based Programs
Based on the resources available, students, supervisors, and project assessors can propose the following thesis research proposals. Every practical advancement is built on research solutions, and modern civilization is reliant on them.
-----AI-driven smart solar-integrated hydroponic system for cultivation of vegetables and herbs
-----Development of a green hydroponic bio-nutrient solution for vegetable and herbs cultivation
---Study, extraction and characterization of insects as a promising source of biomaterials for textile industries
---Insect-based biorefinery for converting waste biomass into marketable protein and energy
---Characterization of nutrients recovered from dairy effluents for production of high-performance biofertilizer products
---Low-cost hybrid optical-electrochemical sensor for detection of pathogens and toxins in water and food samples
--- Development of biogel-based nanosensors for the rapid screening of food mycotoxins
---AI-based fake product detection for retailers and consumer brands
---Machine learning approaches toward personalized treatment of diabetes Jesus!! prof Wip7 you are a blessing to our generation!!! I am thrilled by 2, 3, 5 and 7. I am a master's student (biochemistry, FUTMINNA) .I have been observing your work here for over 18 months now. I saw your previous journal on remediation of waste, and the other journal on biosensors. I am currently about to work on using nanoparticles to deliver drugs in diabetic induced rats. I hope to publish this work. I don't know if the journal accepts research on this? Like I said I would love to work concurrently on any of the topics you mentioned. But the challenge I am predicting among others would be funding (as am self funding). Does any one know how to get grants for such work. I don't mind having an external supervisor to ensure credibility and transparency. Also I am new to AI. Just a learning phyton now (halted because of school) and an intermediate in JavaScript. |

yok: I am happy U are using chaka. You need to confirm that the dividend received is actually reflected in ur wallet and traceable, I am having some issues in confirming this currently and I have email chaka on this and waiting for their confirmation.
For monthly dividend I hv invested in CRF, CLM. You can check Oxford capita stock too
Other good monthly dividend stocks: PSEC, GAB, PBA, BRMK etc.
But by way of note, I observed that some high quarterly dividend paying stocks like : SBSW, KYN, USAC looks good.
You can check yahoo stock history for paymeny date/qualification date.
For more gist like this and more you can check our twitter/WhatsApp page, you will see details of this on our previous postings Thanks for the reply. I just got my first dividend on chaka from lyords bank 0.04. I was sent an email to that effect, just as you posted previously. I think it's traceable. I haven't checked seriously because its 0.04. I have just 1 share remaining there to register my present. Lol. |

Also, I notice on my search that most monthly stocks (4 I know off) are always RIETS. I love to have monthly dividend stocks across sectors(most at time below $10). Bought ORC @ $5., At&t @ 27.45. I'm also interested in how to qualification date for monthly dividend stocks. |
