lol, then guy go for more power, not even just v6 but check the horse power, for person like you the difference in petrol is not even up to 2mpg and again that v6 in solara 2nd gen is the same engine in lexus RX330, it will do a great job for you.

Wow! That's cool. So I will give some SUV a run for their money. SUVs are not technically for racing, but solara was built with sports in mind.

yes v6 is better, you only feel the difference in economy much around town and city traffic. But again there are ppl that is very obssesive of fuel economy like me, hybrid is in my mind, that extra liters in fill up just make me unhappy because i dont care about speed or power, all i care about is smooth economical car.

I once raced a v8 Prado jeep with my tiny i4 engine. The man new I was chasing him and he made me look like a fool severally. I later passed him technically. #in Lai Mohammed's voice.

Maintainance is d key. Air filter, spark plugs, injectors, engine oil, oxygen sensors, knock sensors, etc.
My i4 babyboy had an economy worse than a v8 when I got it from a friend. By d time I was done with it, it came back to life. That little thing with wires on ur exhaust manifold is really important. But ur kazeem doesn't know it.

Something similar happened when I got my babyboy from a friend. But it wasn't the CV joint or anything, instead, it was the thread on the lower ball joint carrying the lower arm. The nut holding it just pulled out and d lower arm, together with the car was on d ground. I guess the kazeem dt worked on it b4 ruptured an aneurysm tightening so much that he broke d thread. I replaced it and got extra 2 spare cos I was told it is normal with Honda. I drove d car for another 2yrs and sold it off with the two spare ball joints still in my trunk.

My point; while going through d repair manual, I noticed most screws and nuts have an amount of torque needed to tighten them. But come and see these kazeems and the way they tighten nuts. You will think d nut snatched their wives.

You are correct but there is something I want you to know what I mean by sweet spot. I mean very very flexible speed even below 60mph when climbing hill, just making sure the the engine is not working hard as it should. That is why I said v6 is best for power and speed minded individual because such person will end up working l4 harder thereby Making fuel economy even worse than v6 because v6 wouldn't need to be worked hard but if a person is economy minded like high miler like me, he will be able to speed to high speed at appropriate time like down hills and able to keep in engine always in best optimum operations even if it takes dropping speed to 40mph up hills. this also mean cruise control is not good for a good high miler, I said good high miler.

The more u guys argue, the more I see reasons to stay away from i4 and embrace v6. The bold line just describes me. I just had to back off a deal I had for a 2nd gen i4 solara. Going for v6 of same ride instead.

Does this damage the engine because my uncle always advises that I turn these off before putting off the engine and also if the radio is on, I must put the radio off before starting the car and then I can put it on. So what's your take on this?

I don't think doing or not doing it has any effect on ur engine. Turning off ur engine while those are on simply means dt ur battery has to take over powering those things. Ur AC will not cool cos d battery cannot roll ur compressor. So if there's anything that will be affected, it should be ur battery, but then, that's why the battery is there, isn't it?
U should also know that starting ur engine while AC is on is not a good idea cos ur battery will need to turn ur engine together with d compressor. That's a lot of load for ur battery.
Car gurus can correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a Toyota solara. it has been around for a while and the door is kinda weak. It doesn't lap well when closed. It drops down a bit when opened and needs to be raised a bit when closed, though it closes when slammed. It's obvious the hinges are worn. Please can the hinges of this ride be replaced so it can lap perfectly when closed and give dt sweet sound of closing a car door? Not some rickety sound. If yes, what exactly is involved in doing that? Thanks
