This should have made it to the news. I can't even find it when Googled except to here, of course. |
@Carlisto77 you make me laugh. And thanks I might be a monolinguist in your books but then simple errors fail your eyes and it's the "untoward fool" that notices it even in this last post of yours. I won't give you any clues. You search for it. Hehe. I laugh in pidgin. |
@Carlisto77 even with all the cacophony of words, I could still point out some errors in your post. Writing isn't easy at all. I support the motion. ![]() |
True or not true. Factual figures or overstated figures, it's a big shame on the Government and the PHCN. It means that Nigerians no matter the state of the economy and bad governance can still strive to live close to what's meant to be "standard of living" while the Government meant to provide basic amenities like electricity with all the resources and manpower at its disposal fails to do so. Enough of asking the way forward. Let those in power cover their faces in shame and resign honourably while there is still time for honour. I believe the better Nigeria lies in Nigeria. We just need to flush out the bad eggs. |
Rossikk: You know the funny thing? Air Nigeria even showed some professionalism and concern for the passengers by requesting a 40 GBP contribution from passengers in order to ensure they were flown back. These European airlines listed above that went bust simply said to their stranded pasengers ''Sorry... you're on your own''.Okay Mr @Rossikk, understand one simple fact. And i'm going to put it in one question. When something is bad, what do you call it? Good? Deserves applause? And yet you open your mouth and can call some fellow human beings like you sick! You yourself are one pathetic human being. You should have yourself examined... psyche examination for that matter. I'm very sure in those countries you gladly highlighted so that you can justify the act of our beloved Air Nigeria crew that extorted 40GBP from their customers, they would have complained as well as we are doing now. Bad things happen yeah. But because it happens elsewhere and we are no different doesn't make it justified. Please revise your mind and let's call a spade a spade. |
I really must ask us people why we must always feel that some acts of the government is laudable when in actual fact, when you assess everything, it's just a few percentage that is really worth the applause. Nigeria has no need for the learning of Chinese language at that tender age of our educational level for our children because it will get nowhere. If learning Mandarin is so important, then someone who feels it's needed should take it up as a core course or an elective in the university or wherever. I was taught French in primary school up till J.S.S 3, but people, I can't remember NADA! Am I dull? Nope because I can prove to you that I am a trail blazer in my chosen career now. Do I need French? Maybe later in life (which I don't think would be necessary anyway) But learning French has been to me, a waste of time and resources. I want to believe there will be thousands if not millions of Nigerians like me out there who will give this same testimony. Education in our Nigeria is still nothing to write home about. These ministers need to revisit and revise our syllabuses, flush out the unnecessary things and let our children learn what's essential for their lives and career. Not French and obviously not Mandarin. This move by the LASG is not important to the Nigerian child. Let Mandarin be infused into the list of courses in our tertiary institutions and not at the primary and secondary levels where it would not make any impact in that near future they're referring to. |
basisop: Don't mind all these pretenders. Once it is from a Nigerian "Taboo".Guy, you're just one absurd person. So because it happens somewhere else justifies it? What is wrong is wrong! This is why people never grow. They chunk it up to "there's nothing new under the heaven" and live under a wrong facade. What about those places where it has never happened? You can't use them as examples? Mmtchew... Don't get me annoyed jor. |
Lol. You one ironically funny thing? We Nigerians don't yet understand what our right is. You can still imagine that if a company like PHCN keeps the power on for 24hrs plus, you start to hear comments like "PHCN tried oh. This light has been on for a long time." It's funny when you praise a provider for the service you deserve when in actual fact, they don't deserve any praise because they are giving you real value for your money. So I'm not usually surprised cos that's what's trending in the Nigerian circle. I'm hoping that one day, we'll start seeing that no firm or provider deserves any defence so far they're not doing it for free. |
sixbon2000: Pls i need more info on zuku and starcom. Do they have websites with their rates? The letter actually was sourced from somewhere in Kenya where I believe Zuku and Starcom operate. Unless you're probably from that region ![]() @4llerbuntu If one pays for subscribing to a service, he/she deserves a good service in return. There are no other providers that charge as much as DSTV in Nigeria and for that much is expected of them. So if we complain, I think we deserve to because we have right to a better service since we pay that much. |

FrontPageLawyer: But the Central Intelligence Agency collects, evaluates, and disseminates vital information on political, military, economic, scientific, and other developments abroad needed to safeguard national security. They are also the agency that protects the president just like the SSSBros Frontpage, you ever hear of the United States Secret Service sha? Cos I don't understand your vibe. |

“You have been repeating movies at an amazing rate and still charge us exorbitant fees.” – An Open Letter To DStv Just when i thought only those subscribed to DStv (MultiChoice’s multi-channel digital satellite TV service in Africa which boasts of over 100 channels) in Nigeria had big issues with the satellite network being repetitive and dull, i came across this letter on Ghafla! by Ngash Mtrue to DStv Kenya echoing my thoughts or at least some of them. I’m most grateful that someone actually took time out to say what tons of people have been muttering under their breath and don’t deny you’re not one of those either wishing/hoping DStv shows some decent flicks or like Mtrue mentions in his letter “introduce a sports only package, SuperSports and ESPN..” One trend DStv follows which i have noticed is this, when it comes to movies, they love showing (repeatedly) original movies (be it 80′s or 90′s) of movie remakes that are currently showing in cinemas or about to. And don’t let me get started on the words they censor even after you’ve selected the ‘Original Language’ option. Read the open letter sent from a subscriber like many people out there frustrated with the service being paid for. “I’m writing this as an esteemed client for the last couple of years and I wish to state that the quality of programmes are way below my expectations. You have been repeating movies and documentaries at an amazing rate and still charging us exorbitant fees. Last night on M-net Action, Con-Air was being screened for the 12th time in 40 days!!! I look at the comedy channel and there’s nothing to smile about. You are screening comedies that were the in thing in the early ’90s, way before Tupac’s death!!! While I do understand that repetitions are a must in the pay TV business, you have taken to a whole new level. Matter of fact, apart from SuperSport, ESPN, BBC Knowledge and the Discoveries channels, everything else borders a fraud. I honestly can’t wait for my subscription to expire so that I can join either Zuku or Starcom. Zuku are offering more channels than you, internet connection and a land line at a cheaper rate than your premium package. Starcom on the other hand are screening updated reality TV programmes like the Kardashians, Amazing Race etc. They are also screening the latest flicks like Spiderman and Batman while you are busy feeding us Con-Air and Walker, the Texas ranger! Come on, you do realize that you are milking us dry and giving us substandard programmes. Could you please introduce a sports only package, SuperSports and ESPN or I jump ship. I have figured that I can get quality pay TV from Starcom for Kshs. 500 per month and a one time connection fee of Kshs. 4,000 which I shall raise from the sale of my DSTV dish as scrap metal. Then, I shall be watching the EPL/La Liga games at my local pub where even if I consume four beers per game every weekend, it will be way below the Kshs. 6,900 you are charging me for substandard programmes and outdated movies. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Chuck Norris on my screen! Over to you DStv Kenya. PS- I’m actually watching another repeat on the Universal Channel even as I type this letter!!!” Source: Movie Markers http://moviemarkers.net/movie-news/you-have-been-repeating-movies-at-an-amazing-rate-and-still-charge-us-exorbitant-fees-an-open-letter-to-dstv/ |
This country is funny and there's always something to laugh about. The trend in this country does not surprise me. We are meant to be a force to move forward but all we go about doing is finding some crooked story about someone in the past for blackmail purposes. Naija it's time to wake up and stop dragging ourselves behind. If all these stories we hear everyday has an endpoint - seeking justice - I'll be happy but no. That's not even the motive. It is to drag someone else's name in the mud so that he/she won't compete in the forth coming elections. All these backstabbing should be put to good use. As for the OP, your story and the man's present life doesn't tally. Give us your credible source and not just some cheap link. Nigerians should start learning. That is the way forward. I rest my case. |
Kobojunkie: The story is about 5 years old and it was never reported even then that the helicopter safely flew even one mission. That's true. This is just old news refined. Tell us some new thing. |
It is a pitiable thing when we assess this whole situation and think we have democracy in this country. The irony of this issue will be revealed soon if CBN goes ahead with its plans irrespective of this outcry to stop this "stupid act" of their. Sorry, there is not other word for it. *singing Femi Kuti's sorry song* |
After watching Green Mile after then, I just love the guy everytime I see him on screen. He is such a good actor. His role as Kingpin in DareDevil as well was a role I liked even though Kingpin was white in the animated series. Rest on brother. The screens will miss you. Your family will miss you more. God loves you better though. |
Power has been soooo good. No tripping sha. We deserve it and we're getting it. Haven't been using my generator for weeks now - one month at least. You won't believe it. *singing from Gbagada, Lagos* |

skyndyp: funny questionof all of the episodes, I tried watching this last one. I would have it given to Darey instead. He showed he has the brains that even Emeka never had. But then, it was a game of luck. |
Yaaawns! |
Kobojunkie:excuse me please. You just automatically shelved my question as against my suggestion. I'm practically ignorant of what the constitution says about our role when things don't go the normal way. WHAT IS THAT ROLE? I don't want you to see it as if you're the only one on this thread saying differently. But the fact needs to be placed on tables and we sort out the truth from the facts. I'll solidly join you in your campaign for the implementation for the rule of law and justice if you can convince me that there is really one thing that can be done. I don't mind if it takes years. Change is gradual but in Nigeria, it has become the survival of the fittest. What we call democracy does not exist in Nigeria presently? But with the way things are, we are still grateful that there are CHANGES. My lady, if really you're in Nigeria and you talk this way, then you live in an entirely different region. None of us is giving up on the fact that nothing can be done but, You need to see in the light of my argument. I ask again: Do you get my point? If you do, Speak from that perspective. |
