Hi everyone, here’s my long overdue feedback:
Got my visa in January (posted my transcript), left for Houston in March aboard delta airlines at 35 weeks( no fit to fly required). Used Oakbend med center n Dr F.
Hospital bill: $3950 (cs)
Doctor:$2800
Anesthesia:$1500
Pediatrician:$694(includes circumcision)
Labs: $140
Pediatrician Followup visits:$505 (LO had jaundice so we had to visit the pediatrician a couple of times)
Followup labs for LO: $173
LO’s ticket $421
Got his SSN in the mail 5 days after birth, DH picked up his BC from Fort Bend county 5 days after birth ($21 each), booked an appointment for expedited passport cos DH had to return to naija. Got the passport 2 days after, paid $175.
Applied for VOA got the approval 2 days later paid $190 on arrival in Lagos. We came back in May. All receipts and zero balances collected.

For breastfeeding and handling baby etc, which seat type will you advise I choose? Aisle or window? Pls advice
I sat on an aisle seat and it was quite easy to move around, reach for baby items in the overhead bin without having to bother the person next to me.

Pls who has used delta to fly with infant back to Nigeria - stop over at Atlanta then lagos
Added infant ticket to mine
How do I get a good seat where they can position bassinet?
How do I make d best of the trip? Any advices. Pl
Pls drop your counsel from experience using delta returning backw
Hi, I flew delta in May, they give bassinet on first come basis, so it really doesn’t matter if you’ve booked one before your travel date, just try to get to their check in desk early and request for one. They’ll give you if it’s available. There were only two bassinets on my flight with about 10 babies, I was able to get one cos I got there early and my initial seat was changed.

I guess they increased cos we Nigerians just like to copy and paste. They must have noticed the influx of Nigerians to their hospital for same reason.

People, let's check out other options, it's not only oakbend and Houston west hospitals that are in Texas. We should also explore other states. Just my opinion though.
I visited about 5 hospitals when I got here before settling for oakbend because their prices were way above my budget, so sir/ma I did do my research.

And the time as come for Oakbend to join others.

I can authoritatively confirm that Oakbend has increased its fees by about 100% if you register and pay before the 36th week and even higher if you pay after 36th week. Epidural fees are nt optional again but however refundable for vaginal birth if not used. Hearing test is COMPULSORY now and included in their fee.

Thank God for the opportunity to have had 2 Oakbend born babies before this 'heart-paining" increase.

For more info, check Oakbend's website or ask your doctor.
Wow, still paid their old rates about 2 weeks ago, I’m using them this month.

Hi came in through Atlanta some days ago and it was so bad. 1st guy asked why and in the us and for the money I had on me. Sent me to the 2nd guy to check my cash, 2nd guy was very nice... didn’t check the cash ... asked if I had a doctor and wished me safe delivery then sent me to agric cos I declared food. The guy at agric was the one that gave me a bit of issues...he asked for doctor’s correspondence, bank statements, my job, hubby’’s job, what we earn, who I’m staying with, what she does... he even said the bank borrowed me the dollars I got from them. I had to explain what PTA is to him. Finally, he asked me how I intend to access the cash in my dollar account . Told him I have a dollar card, I can withdraw cash or do online transactions. At last, he he allowed me to go without even checking my bags *phew*

My advice, whatever POE you decide on, just be prepared for any questions.
*it wasn’t so bad*

please how do you check online, how long you have been stamped in?

Hi, I saw the online link on this thread not sure of the exact page, but between pages 50-55. Rechecked and discovered I’ve been stamped in for 6 months actually

This is a 1st for me o.Most people here that had this issue of their passports not being stamped, were usually permitted to stay for 6months when they check it online. Don't know why yours was for just one month. Check online, there should be a place you can apply for extension.
Thanks for this, just checked again. I’m actually permitted to stay for 6months.

Hi everyone, I just arrived Atlanta and discovered my passport wasn’t stamped and when I checked online I discovered I was stamped in till 9th April, which is before my due date. I declared childbirth both at my visa interview and at cbp. Please what do I do?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by MadameW: 11:14pm On Jan 27, 2018
Hi, you did the right thing by declaring that you’re pregnant, however I don’t think it’s a good choice to accept FIL’s bank statements...it might raise red flags.

I got my visa recently and DH is my sponsor as well. I went with both our bank statements and he had previously transferred the funds I need to my account, but what I did was to highlight those transfers in both statements and told the VO hubby had transferred the funds I need to me earlier without the VO asking. He took his time to check the corresponding names in the highlighted transfers. Then I also went with a sponsorship letter from DH where he had also specified that the funds have been transferred to me earlier and I made sure the VO saw the letter.

Wish you the very best in your next interview.

][quote author=daxx post=64563162]Hello everyone. I had my interview recently and I was denied. The VO assumed we didn’t have enough funds to cover the trip as DH transferred the money to my account. ( I used my salary account statement which showed my then salary of 186k. I say then because it is now slightly above 200k.) She also didn’t bother to look at my money market statement which also had some funds in it.

[quote author=ugoguchy post=64424527]i got previous visa in december 2014,went for vacation that december, had my baby in may 2015,and also oct 2016,sept 2017 i did a drop box for renewal in abj was called for an interview and was denied, reason was that i didnt declare my intention during the interview,if you have read my thread on this page you will see my transcript when i got the visa,i was asked if i was pregnant and if i would give birth in the US which i said yes,so i was confused and the VO said nothing of that such was in my transcript, felt very bad and cried home...december last year went for the 2nd interview in abj again and was denied, same reason...

i came here and some people encouraged me to try again but this time to lagos and some said no need just give up,was really determined to try again, renewed my passport and applied for the 3rd time but to lagos(all these while i was applying for vacation, this time i applied for a medical visa straight up),applied for an emergency appt and it was approved after 3days (tension wan kill me),went for my interview by 6:30am,one of the CGI ladies saw my condition and fast tracked me...

congrats.... waiting for Omodadi's favour report too
