I asked which part you didn't get, you said the airport scene and others, and I explained those parts as I understood it. I didn't know that qualified as a review. grin Ah well. Spikey went off to watch it yday. It's long overdue for a review. If you wanna rev Vantage Point first that's fine tho. Haven't seen it so it should be easy to wait it out.

12 Monkeys up for review. Please girls. Thanks.
TV/MoviesRe: The Movie Club by MadMax1(f): 5:36pm On Nov 13, 2009
The airport scene is a paradox. As a kid Willis watched a man die at the airport, and he never forgot it. As an adult, he dreams about it. At the airport that day is a madman who wants to usher in the end of the world. He releases viruses and germs that severely decimate the population, and the few remaining survivors move underground and stay there for decades. In their subterrenean society scientists come up with the technology to move through time, to the past. They want to return to the surface but they need the antidote to the virus, to manufacture a vaccine that would gurantee immunity against it. The only way to get that is to obtain a pure sample of the virus. They have NO idea how the virus got released, and so they send Willis, armed with a few clues, back to the past to fish out the guilty party and get the sample. Goines and his group were just red herrings and weren't the real criminals. At the airport Willis realises who the culprit is and tries to take him down, and you know what happens then. When a horrified Stowe is grabbed by cops and pulled away, her eyes meet those of a little boy watching a man die at the airport, who is, of course Willis.
Because he succeeds in identifying the culprit, a scientist from Willis time is waiting in the plane for the guy with the virus.

12 Monkeys seconded, thirded and fourted. Which part didn't you get; the boy at the airport? Willis's dreams? The woman (one of the scientists who sent Willis on a mission) on the plane? And isn't Stowe marvelous? I miss that woman in movies, so classy and talented.

You didn't like O Brother Where Art Thou?Clooney, Torturo and the third guy had me laughing I liked it and loved the music. Wasn't surprised it won the grammy for best something album. Didn't the Coen brothers make No Country? huh Burn After Reading was just insane lol.

No2Atheism:
See what am saying, you know deep down that the shoot them uppy games are not really appropriate . . . grin grin grin
Appropriate for kids, no. Adults, yes. Both experience virtual violence differently. I can watch movies with violence, they won't. Not even cartoons that glorify violence or try to make monstrous characters be cute. I enjoyed Monsters Inc on one level. On another, the Christian level, I saw different; the symbolism of the 'doors' and 'doorways', monsters from a fourth dimension coming not to scare your kids but to be 'their friend' and 'make them laugh'. No way. There are lots of cartoons and games where kids can have huge fun and learn at the same time.  I'm all grown up though, and can handle different stuff.

Spikey LOL grin grin grin

Lol Spikey, I mentioned this several pages ago naw. He's two months+ now. We have two boys, one adopted, and we're adopting a girl soon.
You don't like Clooney, JS? So you never saw O Brother Where Art Thou? Funny movie.
TV/MoviesRe: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by MadMax1(op): 4:29pm On Nov 12, 2009
We're fine, thanks. Baby eating like food will soon vanish off the earth. Better Half's lovely, as always. I totally have no probs killing, but some games my kids will play only when they're adults. God of War has terrific plot and action and gameplay, but some adult themes (the stupid god shags and increases his health in one level), much to my consternation. Anything with vile language puts me off. I was trying out some Pirate thing with Warrior Within as subtitle, the main character was battling a female and when she hit him he went, "Bitch!" I was instantly put off and lost interest. Pandering to young boys silly fantasies should only go so far. The only places I see decently dressed females are espionage games like Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter and MGS. In others they're buxom and half-naked, telling men being female is only about one thing. Now playing LOTR as Legolas. Do any of you play this marvelous PC-only game, Age of Wonders? It's fantastic and intelligent and deserves all the awards it got.

No2, how na? I asked around and almost everyone had good things to say about it. Those who weren't sure said it was different and worth watching for the experience and that it'll compell you to swap shoes with the lead characters and ponder what you'll do 'in their position', whatever that is. Seeing it soon. You don't need a reason to boycott it if you don't want to see it though. Simply don't.

JK Fox, there's lotsa movies na. There are many on the 'Suggested List' already, with one new addition. I don't recall Day After Tommorow too well. Jake Gyllenhall was in it. Dennis Quaid. Lots of snow. Water and a library. Something decimated the population? Something sha.

I asked a movie-mad friend about The Box and he gave it high ratings. Says the director managed to hold a storyline that might have gotten unwieldly together. He didn't give anything away though. Honestly I must see this movie.
TV/MoviesRe: The Movie Club by MadMax1(f): 3:55pm On Nov 10, 2009
JK, Fox got your tongue? Review Eagle Eye or post the aggregate ratings or whatever's next.

Cruz's movies generally are. The woman is a goddess. Only one of hers I didn't enjoy was that nonsense she did with Halle Berry; Gothika.

BOTH RIHANNA AND LADY GAGA DO SEEM TO DRESS ALIKE BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT WITH RIHANNA ITS JUST A STYLE FOR HER, BUT WITH LADY GAGA THAT IS HER LIFESTYLE. EVEN AKON SAID IT BEST ABOUT LADY GAGA, SHE IS HIGLY CREATIVE AND DIFFERENT. I FEEL RIHANNA HAS A STYLIST WHILE LADY GAGA PICKS THOSE OUTFITS HERSELF.
So right. 'Crazy different' is what Lady Gaga is. Rihanna or her managemetn merely tries to be and it really isn't her. R has a goood sense of style and should just be herself.

Sure. Saw Passion only when I learnt it was different. And I like Jim Caviezel. I don't mind looking at Arabian men on camels, wielding swords. Arabian guys are hot, with those aquiline noses. I'm asking how this new production's different from what's already out there.

Eagle Eye review
Computers have run amok and taken over the world a little too many times for me. And the danged thing is impossible. A robot with intuitive psychology is nowhere in existence in the real world. Just watch I Robot and be done with the rest. Not that it did justice to the incomparable genius of Asimov, but it was good. With Eagle Eye, even though the storyline was tired I was surprised to find I enjoyed this movie a little. Some effects and action sequences aren't bad. And Shia, who never spent a single day in acting class, is a good actor. The movie rode on a weary formula and Studio megabucks of effects, and one needs more from a movie than that. I enjoyed this as one would anything with a coherent storyline. I give it 50%.
TV/MoviesRe: Who's The Best James Bond And Who's The Worst? by MadMax1(op): 10:05pm On Nov 04, 2009
Awwwww Darthmaul. You're right. He's the Bond in the books. You only need to read ONE Bond book to see he's a cold, brutal killing machine. People are so used to Roger Moore's campy ways as he saves the world over a glass of champagne they forget he's a joke compared to what Fleming wrote. I bought the enire collection of Bond movies and spent weeks watching each. I was amazed at how good Craig and Connery were. Craig is the best. He actually acts, which some previous Bonds forget to do, and he brings complexity to a previously one-dimensional screen character.
