PoliticsRe: SOUTH-EAST CRUCIAL TO NIGERIA’S GAS INDUSTRY REVOLUTION, SAYS FG - THIS DAY by madmohamed(m):
Rugaria:
If you're from the south east and you are reading this, bros, get ready for the real battle! Everything must be done to stop the evil collaboration at the federal level that intends to ruin the south east! I won't try to sound politically correct here! I will be blunt; it will be a tragedy of unbelievable proportion if we allow those who looted the whole oil resources of our land and used that to biuld up their cities to once again steal our gas resources! The SE needs that gas to start off post Nigeria. At the moment, the federal government under one Buhari is biulding a gas pipeline to Niger republic while there are no federal government biult gas pipeline connecting the industrial clusters in the south east! Essentially, the federal government of nigeria is developing the gas capabilities of Niger republic with gas lifted from the heart of igboland! That won't fly..

The gas pipeline to Niger republic starts from the Assa gas fields in Imo and Abia states with the pipes running through kogi to Abuja then Kaduna and Kano before heading to Buharis maternal home, Niger republic! Along the line, there will be gas powered power stations at Abuja and Kaduna and Kano, all having the capacity to produce over 3000 mw of power at completion! None was built in the whole Southeast from where the gas will be lifted! No attempt was made to connect the industrial cities of the east like Aba, nnewi or Onitsha to gas lifted in their backyard! Apart from the mediocre shell gas projects at Aba, there has never been any federal government gas initiative on the scale of the type we see at Otta, ogun state or the one in progress in Kaduna. Allowing folks who work against the economic growth of the east with resources from the same east to do a second round of plundering should be unthinkable! This present generation of Igbos must do everything humanly possible to stop this taunts once and for all...
the best thing is to blow the pipe line before they even start. We can never allow what happened to Niger Delta happen to us . we are waiting for them to try to connect it to KKK pipe line. They can not decive us. And secondary eny body that want to be security for pipe line will be teach a lesson. We don't want asiri dokubo still I can never be a security in my own house. Fulani will know what we are not like other people they will use .

PoliticsRe: Service Chiefs Should Recommend Their Successors –fayemi by madmohamed(m): 8:08am On Dec 07, 2020
Kwanza:
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi, has urged the service chiefs in the country to recommend their successors to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The recent horrific killing of at least 43 rice farmers at Zabarmari in the Jere Local Government Area of Borno State had sparked fresh calls for the sacking of the country's service chiefs by the President.

However, Fayemi said it is not about the sacking of the service chiefs but it is about "transitioning them out of their current responsibilities into retirement".

The Ekiti State governor spoke on Channels Television's Sunday Politics programme monitored by The PUNCH.

He said, "The service chiefs have served the country well, they've given their best and they've been committed. I know them personally and I know how well they are committed to ensuring that we get rid of this insurgency. Still, the point I am making is that if you have done something, the same thing for five years, and you have even gone beyond your retirement age, of course, once you are a service chief, you may argue that there is no retirement age. Still, the military has protocols, the military has processes and from time to time, one of the real considerations is a renewal of the leadership.

"My approach is for Mr President to ask them in their role as service chiefs who understand the military very well, who know their men very well, even to be the ones to suggest some of the best men that may step into their shoes.

"It's not about sacking them; it's about transitioning them out of their current responsibilities into retirement. A part of me even feels that there may be some of them that would instead exit now but they wouldn't want to be seen as jumping ship if Mr President has not directed them but I am not the president of Nigeria and the president has within his rights to determine how he wants to direct this.

"Our own as governors and field commanders in the 36 states is to let him know the feelings of our people about security in the country and that we will do when we have the meeting."

Fayemi said the 36 state governors would meet with the President very soon and convey the feelings of the people on the insecurity in the country to him.

Thelucifer666:
Now before you go all "end times" on me because of my moniker just read what I have to say.

Now, we need to address the alarming rate of over population and children roaming around the streets begging for food and hawking espcially in the northern part and states like Benin where children are everywhere begging and suffering with no food nor education.

An abortion solves this, It would be better to abort a fetus than to have a child you arent prepared to care of.

Making abortion illegal is actually doing MORE HARM than good, People will still abort unwanted children but at a higher mortality rate from quark doctors and poorly funded hospitals.

Legalizing abortion solves majority of these problems, People will still have sex knowing the risk of having children and some will still stupidly do it without a condom, We just have accept the truth that we shouldn't bring children into a world where you can't take of!

You see boys at the age of 18 and women at the age of 17 having children even tho they can't take of the child and end up abandoning the child bringing it into suffering and probably no education or nutrition like is the case majority of the time.
Legalizing abortion solves this issue.

Zabarmari: Cameroonian Military Commanders Visit Borno As Governor Considers Mercenaries.

This visit is coming 48 hours after the state governor noted that one of the recommendations his state had put forward to the Federal Government was to consider hiring mercenaries to dislodge the Boko Haram terrorists from the region since the Nigerian military appeared to be overwhelmed.

Armed Forces on Thursday visited the Borno State Government House, Maiduguri, and met with the state governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, over Saturday's gruesome massacre of at least 70 rice farmers in Zabarmari community.

This visit is coming 48 hours after the state governor noted that one of the recommendations his state had put forward to the Federal Government was to consider hiring mercenaries to dislodge the Boko Haram terrorists from the region since the Nigerian military appeared to be overwhelmed.

Another recommendation that Zulum gave was for the regional forces, Cameroon, Chad and the Niger Republic to collaborate on waging war against the Boko Haram terrorists.

At the meeting, the governor urged the Cameroonian delegation on the need for Nigeria and Cameroon to team up to defeat the Boko Haram terrorists.

PoliticsRe: FG Committed To Improving Infrastructure — Osinbajo by madmohamed(m): 6:55am On Dec 04, 2020
TheRareGem1:
Adopting new models of investments for infrastructural development in the country is now an imperative as reliance on public expenditure alone is no longer sufficient or capable of meeting the $3 Trillion needed to bridge the infrastructural deficit over the next 30 years.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, stated this Thursday in his remarks at a webinar organized by Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE) on deepening the Nigerian infrastructure stock through Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

According to the Vice President, “inspite of Government interventions over the years, Nigeria still faces a huge infrastructural deficit, which is constraining rapid economic growth. The Federal Government recognizes this fact which is why we are considering other approaches to complement and boost financing for the development and maintenance of infrastructure in Nigeria.

It is clear that this deficit can only be made up by private investment. Private sector is 92% of GDP while the Public Sector is mere 8%. So, the synergy between the public and private sector through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) is really the realistic solution.”

Referencing statistics available in the Nigerian Integrated Infrastructure Masterplan (NIIMP) and the Economic Recovery & Growth Plan, Prof. Osinbajo noted that “Nigeria needs up to $3 trillion over the next 30 years to bridge the infrastructure gap.”

The Vice President explained that “the Federal Government would have to spend the entire revised 2020 appropriation of N10.81 trillion continuously for the next 108 years or more on capital expenditure (CAPEX) to meet that target. The fact that only N2.49 trillion was appropriated for capital expenditure in 2020, reflects the importance of deliberate and pragmatic action to boost infrastructural spending.”

It seems to me to be quite clear that the financial outlay and management capability required for infrastructural development and service delivery outstrip the financial and technical resources available to government.

"In other words, the traditional method of building infrastructure through budgetary allocations is inadequate and set to become harder because of increasingly limited fiscal space,” he added.

Speaking about the benefits of effectively implementing PPP arrangement for Nigeria, the Vice President explained that “if properly designed and executed, PPP models will unlock innovative infrastructure financing and management in a transparent and more efficient manner. Indeed, using PPP frameworks, Nigeria has the potential to attract and benefit immensely from huge local and foreign private sector resources.”

On how the Buhari administration is leveraging the partnership with the private sector to bridge the huge infrastructure gap, Prof. Osinbajo said “the Federal Government has recently issued a circular on the administration of PPP projects in the country to provide the much-needed clarity. The circular re-emphasizes that the BPE shall be responsible for the concession of public enterprises and infrastructure already listed in the First and Second Schedules of the Public Enterprises Act.”

The Vice President stated that “the circular equally stipulates that the BPE shall act on behalf of the FGN as the counterparty on all infrastructure projects being developed on a PPP basis whilst the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) continues to act as the regulatory agency for PPP transactions with powers to inspect, supervise and monitor the projects and processes in order to ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies and regulations.”

Soliciting the cooperation of all stakeholders for the effective implementation of the policy, Prof. Osinbajo noted that “it is expected that this new policy direction would provide clarity to stakeholders and foster the improvement of PPP programmes in the country. Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as the multilateral agencies and our development partners, are urged to support the PPP policy objectives and institutional arrangements already put up by Government.”

He stated further that, “as part of the new environment being created for the implementation of PPP projects, the Federal Government through the CBN, Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority and African Finance Corporation and other financial institutions will be creating a N15 trillion Infrastructure Fund that will help to, not only unlock investment from local sources but also attract foreign private investment in infrastructure development.”

On the operations of the Infraco Company, Prof. Osinbajo said “the company will be professionally run by select managers who are chosen by internationally accepted standards. We will bring in the best qualified individuals to manage the Infraco because most investors will want to see a transparently run Infraco, and we intend to provide exactly that. This is to ensure that the investors’ resources are applied only to the best possible projects after the management of the company has looked at them and chosen them carefully.”

Very little minded people with absolutely nothing to their name always feel the need to put others down to validate their own superiority.

You feel awfully little about yourself that's why you have to make others appear little in your own eyes so you may appear big. PoliticsRe: Car Owners To Pay N250,000 To Convert Cars To Autogas - FG by madmohamed(m): 2:18pm On Dec 02, 2020
ExAngel007:
Car owners in the country will have to
pay N250,000 to convert their cars to autogas.

Justice Derefaka, Technical Adviser on Gas
Business and Policy Implementation to Minister
of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva who
appeared on a Channels Television programme on
Wednesday December 2 after the Group
Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari on Tuesday
December 1 said that one million cars are to be
powered by Autogas free of charge, averred
that vehicle owners will have different payment
plans to covert their cars to autogas.

He said;

“The cost varies. So in terms of cost
implication, it depends on the cylinder
of the vehicle and of course, for a
typical SUV cylinder, it is a bit higher
but on the average, it is around
N200,000 to N250,000 and this is for a
four-cylinder vehicle but it becomes a
little bit higher for a six-cylinder SUV
vehicle.”

Also commenting on the different payment plans
for car owners who want to convert their cars,
Derefaka stated that the conversion is not
totally free.

He added;

“The owner of the car basically will
decide to say I want to run on autogas
or CNG or LNG and like the honourable
minister had mentioned it as well,
conversion basically, has different
strands, you can partner with your bank
and then the bank will now agree with
the conversion centre to say ‘Convert
this our customer’s car for free.’ Not
free in its entirety.

“But then you now go and covert your
vehicle. What happens is that the
installer will put some form of
mechanism that each time you buy the
gas; a certain amount will be deducted
to pay for the conversion kits.”

Dimissing fears of many Nigerians seeing the
conversion fee as expensive, the aide noted that
payment can be done within five to seven
months.

Derefaka said;

“And that in its self has saved you the
use of gas in lieu of petrol to about
45-50 per cent,” the Marine
Engineering graduate from the Rivers
State University (RSU), Port Harcourt
added. “So, there is a huge cost-saving
in that regard.”
